Non-USA vehicles have Wireless CarPlay disabled, and this had really been bugging me, so I fixed it !!
To enable Wireless CarPlay, follow these instructions. For info, I've got the Sound & Comfort pack, but I think the MMI's are the same across all vehicles.
Note: Appears to require MMI Software Version: MH2p_ER_AUG35_P2470 or higher.
If you don't already have CarPlay working via USB, this coding will not enable CarPlay.
CarPlay requires activation first.
This coding is for activation of Wireless CarPlay only.
CarPlay Wireless Activation
First - unpair/delete any Apple devices from CarPlay and Bluetooth (including removing the car if already paired from the Apple device itself - setting/general/CarPlay).
Module : 5F. (Information Control Unit)
Adaptation
Vehicle Configuration
MirrorLink = On WiFi_Client_HMI = On Apple_DIO_Wireless = On wlan_5ghz_switch = Activated Apple_DIO = On
Reboot the MMI (not sure how you do that!), or lock the car, and give it an hour or two - that's what I did.
Do not plug your Apple device into USB !!
Make sure the WIFI hot-spot is turned on in the MMI settings.
Pair your Apple device with Bluetooth - it should now ask if you want to enable CarPlay.
If it doesn’t, delete the pairing, and connect to the car’s wifi first from the Apple device, and try pairing via Bluetooth again.
Mine worked fine first time, and has worked successfully each and every time I’ve entered the car.
There's some additional settings for CarPlay under nhtsa_properties, I've not touched any of them, as I have no idea what effect they have.
I have a feeling this might also work for the new A8 as well (MLB-2/MLBevo platform).

Hi Mat, I tried this on my 2018 A7(C8) but it's still not working. The adaptations are successful but when I connected the car's 5GHz wifi and pair the iphone with Bluetooth, it didn't ask whether I want to enable Carplay.
I'm wondering if it's something I did wrong or the car is just not support wireless carplay.
The car is in the UK.

Do you have CarPlay by USB? If so, then it should work.
You might need to reboot the MMI by holding down the volume button for 30 odd seconds.
Make sure you’ve totally un-paired all devices first, because if Bluetooth or smart phone devices exist, it won’t re-ask.
Check settings on the phone too - make sure Carplay doesn’t have the car registered already.
Reboot the phone just to be sure as well.
Worth a shot!

Yes, the car has Carplay through USB.
I unpaired every device on the MMI, deleted the MMI connection in iPhone's bluetooth, did the adaptations and rebooted the MMI, it's still not asking the carplay option after connecting to 5GHz wifi and bluetooth.
I tried rebooting the phone as well. The phone has myAudi app installed, too.

I’ve noticed that unless you open the bonnet, coding sometimes doesn’t stick. There’s 2 apple dio settings - make sure they’re both enabled. When it works, the MMI message changes from connect via usb to connect via usb or connect via wireless (or words to that effect). If you’re not getting that, check the coding again - failing that, it could be a MMI software version - what version are you running? Maybe they changed something on the 2019 models?

Yeah, I have the charging pad in the armrest.
I did open the bonnet. I was able to turn on Baidu's CarLife which is only available in Chinese models so I'm sure the coding was successful.
The MMI message still said connect via USB only.
Here are the software versions of my car:
Software version: MH2p_ER_AUG35_P2395 Navigation database: V03959804BE_P0294_EU_2019.2 Media driver: CLU23_MMX2P_AU_ER_G35_064PROD-1 Gracenote database: Region=EUROPE - Version=6 Radio station logo database: 1.19.4 Telephone driver: 10.683.61

Very weird - I reckon it’s a software version issue - will check mine later to see if there’s any differences.

On my 2019 (which works fine with Wireless CarPlay), the versions are:
Software Version: MH2p_ER_AUG35_P2470 Navigation Database: V03959804BH_P0360_EU_2020.1 Media Driver: CLU24_MMX2P_AU_ER_G35_040PROD-1 Gracenote database: Region=Europe, Version =8 Radio station logo database : 1.19.7 Telephone Driver: 10.766.282
Looks like you're a couple of versions behind - maybe a trip to the dealers for an update?

Yeah, I had a read on a German forum and it seems that only an update to P2470 software version can enable the adaptation.
I've booked an appointment with the dealer later this week and see if they can update this for me.

What software version are you on Ishopgh? seems that you need P2470 or greater.
Also - do you have the wireless charging mat in the armrest - just wondering if that's connected somehow?

Finally, the dealer updated the software to P2470 and it works now!

I don’t know if it’ll work with an A6 though, this is known to work on the A7 though.

Hello.
How to activate carplay on a regular system without navigation, is it also like MIB2? So that she appears on the menu?

I have absolutely no idea!
The Apple settings further up this thread might work - try it and see what happens?

If you mean getting the CarPlay icon on the left hand-side of the screen (replacing one of the existing icons), then you just drag it over.
If it's not appearing when you connect your phone, then I have no idea for the A6.

I checked video from youtube from this post and to connect Android Auto or Apple CarPlay to an Audi A7 MMI it is necessary to click on "Phone App" button. I don't have a button like that on my MMI screen. My car comes with navigation. What other options should I have to check if it comes with adnroid auto/apple car play? It is possible that it don't have Android Auto or Apple CarPlay? I'm not asking about wireless verion. Even using cable i can't connect my Pixel 3 XL or Apple Iphone 11 Pro to my 06.2018 Audi A7.

Under module 5F, adaptations, vehicle configuration, I have the following enabled: Smartphone_interface_for_rhmi : activated Remote_HMI : on Under installation list DK-1 Systems: Data_Medium : yes Multimedia_extension : yes Media_connector : yes Under installation for external media, activation: Connection 1 : activated Connection 2 : activated Connection 3 : not activated Connection 4 : not activated Under module 5F, long coding: Byte_19_usb : usb_ipod That’s all I could find that might help you. No idea if it’ll work for you, you are just going to have to try things.

If my car comes with this option:
PNQ MMI navigation plus with MMI touch response in addition to MMI navigation with MMI touch response with the following contents: • navigation system 10 with representation on a high-resolution 10.1-inch display (1540 x 720) • Audi virtual cockpit with 12.3-inch color display, incl. Display of the navigation map • Audi sound system with 10 speakers, front and rear, 180 Watt • Audi smartphone interface • includes the entire portfolio Audi connect infotainment & navigation 7
This means it should have Android Auto/Apple CarPlay?
I'm waiting to have the 10 digit vehicle code delivered to me to become Main user. I'm now Guest user in my car and not Main user. It is possible because of this to have Apple CarPlay/Android Auto options not visible in the MMI menu?
I do not have an OBD. If it is possible to make chages you wrote before by my self, can you suggest what device I should buy?
Thank you.

You need to get an OBDEleven dongle + Android tablet/phone (or wait for the Apple Pro version) to do any of the coding changes - without that, you can't do it.

Hi, sorry for my English but I’m Italian, I have a Q3 F3 My2019, and I have tried to change this parameters with OBD 11, but doesn’t work because the values returns on previous data, I attached my version of the software. MH2p_ER_AU_P2493
