Did you open the bonnet/hood first? The newer Audi's have a security "feature" that reject coding if the bonnet/hoot isn't open.
I would give that a try first.

Is this working wirelessly with AndroidAuto as well, or just with Apple CarPlay? Just Apple CarPlay I believe. |

just had a look on my car, its 2020 audi a4. the options under adaptations are not there or not in the same place.
i searched the other titles and found the mirror link and wifi options, but could not see the apple options.
even found the option for wireless carplay but it said function not available when i tried to enable it.

i follow the instruction on my e-tron 2019. i can see wireless CarPlay on the MMI. but nothing display on the screen.
Any idea?
i don't see were to turn on wifi hot-spot and dot know what the car wifi password, i can see the wifi in my iPhone.
i have wireless charging on the car
no sim card reader on the car.

I can't speak for an e-Tron (only driven one once for about 5 minutes), but if it's like the A7, then there are WIFI settings on the MMI - you'll just have to hunt around and find them. On the A7, they're under Settings->Connection Settings->WiFi. |

Muppets ! They don't actually have a clue. I can drive to Germany and get it done there and then at any dealer !! |

whatever that is! not tried to connect obd eleven yet so will come back later with wireless carplay answer for this version. BTW mine is jan 19 UK and has traffic sign recognition.

i have Audi A7 2019 and i would like to enable the wireless CarPlay, the car software version is mh2p_er_aug35_p2647.
i have no idea how to connect to the car and do this:
Module : 5F. (Information Control Unit)
Adaptation
Vehicle Configuration
MirrorLink = On
WiFi_Client_HMI = On
Apple_DIO_Wireless = On
wlan_5ghz_switch = Activated
Apple_DIO = On

Here goes....
Start OBD Eleven on your Android Tablet/Phone. Make sure you have the "PRO" version - only that version can do the coding necessary.
Plug in the OBD Eleven module to your OBDII port on the car.
Turn the Car's ignition on. Do not start the engine.
Click "Connect" on the OBD Eleven Android App.
Once connected, find "Control Modules", and scroll down until you find module "5F (Information Control Unit)", then select by tapping on it.
A new menu will appear, and one the options will be : Adaptation
Select that option.
Wait a while whilst the adaptation channels load (this can take some time for this module)
Once loaded, scroll down the list of channels until you find : Vehicle Configuration
Select that channel, and the you'll find a whole host of parameters that can be changed, amongst those, you'll find:
MirrorLink = On
WiFi_Client_HMI = On
Apple_DIO_Wireless = On
wlan_5ghz_switch = Activated
Apple_DIO = On
First, write down what your settings are (I find that's easier than looking at coding history), so if anything goes wrong, you can set them back to what they were originally.
Next, change your car's values to match those above - once changed to the correct value, hold the green tick to save to the car.
And that's it - exit out of the OBD Eleven app, turn off the car's ignition, remove the OBD Eleven dongle from the OBDII port of the car.

I have an early build A7 4K. These instructions all worked a treat for me! Thank you! Even after the dealership were adamant my vehicle was too early a build and only 2020 cars had the hardware for wireless apple car play!
Side note: Wireless apple car play doesn't always connect! Maybe 1 in 5 times it fails, anyone else experience this?

Not noticed that before - I've not had a problem with connections at all....
Perhaps you're on a previous version of the MMI software, and that's causing drop-outs? (see first post for MMI version)
Good to see you've got it working though !

Hello. I have the audi a7 2015 facelift with version p0034 it work for me the same procedure or i need to upgrade software? I very much doubt it - you've got an A7 4G version - this coding is for the 4K versions..... Give it a try - you never know, it might work. |
