For anybody that has enabled this. Does Lane Change Assist work? This should give the car the ability to automatically change lanes when possible. Also do you get Travel Assist in the vehicle assistance settings? I've enabled Travel Assist and don't seem to have either.

I may have found a capacitive steering wheel at an OK price. Can somebody please confirm for me the model number of the non-capacitive steering wheel? It's not very clear if it's the letters at the end of the number that make the difference.

This should be the coding of an ID.3 with factory travel assist and KLR, I don't know if you are going to try it. CODIFICACION A5 Y STG13 EN ID.3 CON TA DE SERIE CON KLR STG A5: 00 08 30 2E 15 01 10 E4 16 24 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 (acces code 20103) SFD
STG13: 01 83 18 F0 40 71 40 45 12 47 40 08 00 00 40 C5 AF 40 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 Can someone tell me what KLR stands for? I can't seem to figure it out. Cheers.

Hi everyone. I have submitted a post into ID4 Sub board with travel assist but it seems that this thread is a lot more active. Hope its ok to post it here as well though this is a ID3 thread.
I have been reading in all of the forums I can find about how to activate travel assist. I read that the coding is the same as for ID3/4/5. I understand this question has been answered many time but I'm a newbie in this whole coding game. So My 22' ID4 GTX has some other A5 codes and I haven´t been able to find those in any forums and to be honest I did read the PDF in one of them but My code didn´t make sense at all, comparing my code to the pdf file. I have 360 cameras, blind spot, traffic signs, ACC and its supposed to be assistance plus package but I understand this package might be different between markets. I have heated steering wheel as well and I think also the touch version of it as it ask me to take over steering when not holding it. My car also has Matrix lights. I asked why the Travel Assist wasn´t activated on the car upon collection but the dealership said that they haven´t activated it in our market area. Why I have no idea. I have seen cars imported here from other regions that have TA activated so I haven´t got a clue why we cant get it here.
My A5 code is as follows : 00-08-30-6E-1D-D1-08-E0-07-24-30-00-00-....
Any help on the 6E,1D,D1,07 what those means and also to confirm the change I have to make. Is it only the stg A5 I have to change in bite 6,7,8 ?? I'm running car software 3.1 and I have Ultimate OBDeleven gen 2
Many thanks in advance from ICELAND.

Original coding from the factory for a very early 2023 ID3, without capacitive steering, without travel assist: 00 08 30 2E 15 51 08 F0 07 24 20
It is different from earlier models, although the cars seems identical (same headlights, Lane Assist, Sign recognition)
Not sure I want to risk messing things up...

Hi again. So I have a question.
1. I activate stg13 travel assist on. Then I go to A5 long coding and changed the values to 10-E4-16. Travel assist comes alight in the steering wheel but when selected it gives me an error that Travel assist not available and ACC is not available either. So error and. It working. I tried the gateway touch sensor trick but it gives me 254 and assuming that it’s a non capacitive steering wheel I have installed. What am I doing wrong here and do I really need to have the capacitive steering wheel installed to have travel assist active ?

You must set ECU 13 back to factory default, just leave ECU A5 configured.

The NEW 3.0 I.D Software coding is different for the travel assist, have anybody an idea which is the new code for activate the travel assist in the new software version? Original code with ACC and traffic sign recognition: 00 08 30 2A 15 45 08 E0 07 24 I also have the exact same software coding. What must be changed to have the Travel Assist? I have already tried different changes already indicated above, it does not work.

Hello everyone,
I think I can help you with a tip. There is a retro fitting company in facebook that are experts on coding.
They offer a module that you install in the steering wheel so you don’t even have to touch the steering wheel. I’m going to order from them soon.

I was thinking about buying a touch sensitive wheel but a bit scared to try and change a steering wheel on a leased car...

Hello! Been reading this thread and we have a ID3 Life, 2021 model. It has keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, the bad "lane assist" and sign recoginition support.
Therefor it seems viable to buy a OBD Eleven (Pro is needed?) to enable travel assist is my understanding. I also understand that buying a capacitive steering wheel is preferred.
But what I havent understood is "how bad" is it to enable this without a capacitive steering wheel? Both our Tesla and previous Audis had this without capacitive steering wheels and they just require "a hand" leaning on the wheel to keep warnings away every 20 seconds. Is it the same if I would enable it here or is it really bad, as physically "shaking" the wheel all the time?
Trying to figoure out if OBD eleven buy is worth it without also buying a new steering wheel and have someone install it. Any information and thoughts are appreciated!

Yes, it is the same; you have to move your steering wheel very lightly (from sw 3.2 is even better), and IMO buying the steering wheel is an unnecessary (big) waste of money.

I disagree. In my opinion you need quite strong steering inputs to get rid of the warning. At least from my perspective, coming from an Mk7 Golf with active Lane Assist.

Thank you so much Blistograg!! in the end, I have been able to code it the same as before, with patience because the app sometimes crashes and then deleting the errors from each module. with software 3.2 it is coded and works the same as before. What is the coding you use? I have a id3 pro with matrix lights I have installed capacitive steering wheel.

Has anyone been able to remove the errors that stain the A5 logs once the capacitive steering wheel has been installed? I don't know where I read that they could be removed with ODIS.

I have a capacitive steering wheel but I have ordered the hands-free module from aliexpress, I will have it at the beginning of october.
I have a feeling it is a module like the capacitive steering wheel but without the capacitive sensor and will output the hex code on the CAN Bus that we are gripping the steering wheel every few seconds. I also think we will have the problem of it smudging the OBDEleven log as there is a new ECU that is not installed as one more in the gateway. I have been looking at OBDEleven and we do not have access to subsystems. In gateway we can see in real time the subsystems and the module added with its address in HEX and in adaptations in the list of Gateway components there is an option to add it I think and remove that error that stains the log.

Good info! I have ordered one as well. I am expecting it to arrive mid-october. Please let me/us know how it goes (if it works) and put together a little guide if you can.

That means you don't have capacitive steering wheel. The values should change when you touch wheel. It recognizes touch with 3 thresholds: no touch, light touch, heavily gripped. I attached screenshots after my wheel change. Does this mean I don’t have capacitive sensors? ibb.co/LtZ6VmW

Hello, I am doing a long coding in block A5 as described but I get a message that the travel assistant is currently not available and accordingly writes an error in the module. The original code is as in the original post. At first I messed up and coded in the ACC module(13), but then I did a factory reset. Does anyone know what is going on (where am I going wrong) or is it just that this modification is not possible to activate? Actually, I don't need ACC, just plain cruise control. Is it possible to code it to work like regular cruise control? Thanks in advance!

After I let off the throttle and re-start everything is normal. Any ideas what I messed up?

What happens to you with the accelerator only happens when you delete errors with ODBEleven and it happens only once, it is the calibration of the accelerator pedal is deleted when you delete all the errors and you have to calibrate it by accelerating releasing and accelerating again
A friend of mine bought the hands-free module on Aliexpress and told me that it gets very hot, he is considering whether to install it or not because it can be a fire risk.

Could you tell me where I'm going wrong? I think I did something in block 13, but being a complete amateur I didn't save the original settings. Does anyone have the original settings for module 5 and 13 (not just the code, but all the settings in the modules)? I try factory reset but it doesn't work.
