mrbil Hi. Try this: - Go to the Dashboard module @ address hex17
- Select Adaptation
- Enter "algorithm" into the search box and select Illumination_algorithm
- Select Scale_switching_algorithm and change value to lds

hmm......... OK - that's worrying!!
My instructions are the "normal" way of implementing this tweak. The absence of an lds option in the channel kind-of suggests that module firmware doesn't allow this function. Strange!
What country and what is the software number of the hex17 module on this car?

Hello everyone!!!
I think we should make a document with all the possible modifications that can be made ....

Post by dv52 (Australia) on Jan 22, 2023 23:24:50 GMT
However, such a document would be very large indeed - and it would take a lot of effort to create properly!
I'm sure there would be many folk interested in reading the tome if you wanted to complete the task !!!

If the members of the group pass me the modifications, I commit myself to do it and publish it only here, or where the group managers tell me.
What do you think of the idea?

Hi
Please do a description on how to activate in-video play on the MIB for mk7.5? Long coding or adaptations please.

|

Post by vwjap on Feb 21, 2023 8:56:00 GMT
Well first things first, do you have a golf mk7.5 with discover pro
Second, CAN YOU PLAY VIDEOS WHILE STATIONARY, if you can’t then don’t bother, you can’t enable video playback
Third, are you good at coding and understand instructions, if not THEN DONT TRY as it’s nothing to do with adaptions or long coding, it re,writing data in the eeprom and changing the checksum, as if you get it wrong you could brick your MIB
If you’re ok with the above then I could post a video

Good morning,
I am new to the forum since today and have a question. I find a new coding in the OBD app, but it doesn't work for me. I would like help or an explanation for this. Front Pace-Car indicators "Urban joke" is their name and I have activated them with credits, but nothing happens.

daku89 : Hi and welcome to the forum - I'm honored to be your "first responder"! So, here's the thing - Whilst this forum is sponsored by OBD11, in general, responses in this forum (nearly all) come from "ordinary humans" - meaning that (nearly all) of us have nothing to do with OBD11 (we are volunteer amateurs). In regard to what you call "OBD apps" (let's call these "One-Click-Apps", or OCAs), this means that (nearly ALL) of those that participate in this forum don't know how the OBD11 mother-ship code OCAs.
The other aspect of OCAs that is pertinent to your question is that they leave NO records of the changes that they make. This is the reason why I personally NEVER use OCAs and why I suggest that no one else uses them! Hopefully with the above sentences as a back-story, you will understand why I suspect that you won't get an informed response in this forum to your question . You really do need to contact the OBD11 help-desk-because ONLY they know how these OCAs are programmed, That said, my hunch (emphasis - my guess) is that this car has Light Control Modules (LCMs). Not all Golf mk7.5s (which are built on a MQB platform) have LCMs installed. On those cars that do have LCMs, the lamps in the headlights are not controlled in the usual manner - meaning that these lights are NOT controlled by the central electrics module.
I suspect that the Pace-car OCA might have been designed for Golf mk7/mk7.5s where the headlight lamps are controlled in the usual way (i.e. via the central electrics module).
If I'm correct (and I'm perfectly comfortable being not-correct), changes made to the coding in the central electrics module by the OCA will do nothing - because the headlight lamps for the Pace-car tweak are NOT connected to this module (these lamps are instead connected to the LCMs)
This explains your observation that "nothing happens"!!!
You can check if this car has LCMs by looking at the SCAN report. If LCMs are installed, the report should contain modules like this: 39 Light Control Right System description: LCM_MQB
29 Light Control Left System description: LCM_MQB

I did an installation with the original wiring with door cards from a Golf 7 R for my car and I've been at a lost to get the ambient lighting to work. It appears in the mib but I can't choose the zone or change the intensity of ambient light. When I thought that my Golf did not have compatible equipment for ambient lights, I noticed that the passenger door was lit, but the driver's door had only the handle turned on, I also lost the option to adjust the intensity of the lights in the footwell. So I ask for help with the coding to make everything work as if it were original.

knox : hmm........I'm confused!! What exactly is meant by I did an installation with the original wiring with door cards? Read literally, it's difficult to understand how a wiring (loom?) change on the door cards could impact the coding arrangement in the MIB.
Again, read literally (meaning no coding changes, or door-module replacement happened)- isn't the problem more likely to be a physical issue?
Also, are there any error messages in the SCAN report for this car? If so, please provide an unedited copy.

I just installed the missing wires on the module's blue plug on the respective pins that were empty, my car didn't have ambient light and I adapted a wiring harness in order to look like it was original. It doesn't give any error, so I think some things are missing in the coding to make it work well

knox :OK - if the original door cards did NOT have ambient lighting and if the new door cards Do have ambient lighting - then you need to tell the Driver & Passenger door modules to start operating the new facility.
The way to do this is to set the software switch on the module long-code string. Specifically, set (tick) Byte 1, Bit 1 on both modules

I've done all that, and I even did the test to turn on the lighting and it only fully turns on the passenger door, but the driver's only turns on one light, the rest are off and I've already checked the pins and wires if everything was connected correctly.

You checked the voltages are the same on both doors?
Also what do you mean by this?
“I can't choose the zone or change the intensity of ambient light.”
Do you have background lighting or is it under lights?

This will already be confusion of information, I have only found topics to talk about but this is already advanced settings such as color options. The only thing that appears in the options to choose from is the adjustments for the footwell and ambient light and nothing else, and I think that's how it came from the factory. I've already reviewed the information I've found to retrofit the ambient light but it's all confusing and I've confirmed it but there could also be something wrong, I also need the correct coding to adapt and see if everything is ok I'm going to check the voltages, I just did the test to access the ambient lights on the doors and only the passenger's light turned on completely, the driver's light only turns on the handle, i will confirm if everything is ok with the voltages.

Yes, at the moment I have the ambient light with the menu in background lighting and when I choose footwell lights it does everything right with the regulation. The ones on the doors don't do anything when I select to dim the light. When I test the driver's door in the ambient light field it says "function stopped, compatibility conditions". The passenger's apparently everything is fine and that message doesn't appear and the whole door lights up and doesn't make any adjustments or goes out.

So the cogs are on the page, so you did the independent dimming mod

Wonder if you’ve connected it to the wrong connectors in the door modules, we’d need dv52 (Australia) to post up the PIN numbers, as it sounds like no dimming it isn’t connected to the right line as that’s set from the cog
