hmm.......... yes I see- the only reference to suspension equipment in your PR codes is: - L40 GKV Suspension range 40 installation control only, no requirement forecast
I'm not sure what L40 means!! Do you have access to VCDS? It would be interesting to scan the car with another device - maybe OBD11 is the problem here? Have you tried ticking hex14 module in the installation list? Don

I may be able to find someone or a shop that can scan with VCDS for me. As far as ticking the hex14 module in the installation list, it just doesn't exist there! It goes from hex13 to hex15 with no mention anywhere in the list of DCC or hex14. Very strange indeed.

Ok I tried gen1 on android and it didn’t have 14 (had 74-chassis control tho) then I updated the software from play store, still exactly the same, then swapped to gen2 on android, still no 14 so tried iOS and it only gave me 3 modules in the module list so all I can think is send a error report to voltas explaining that 14-dcc is missing (had to update the iOS version as it wouldn’t let me connect to the car until I did)

Hmm I will go ahead and do this, are they decent with their customer service? Im not sure what I should expect out of it. Kudos for testing out all the different configurations to see if theres a change.

No probs, did try to get a hacked APK of a earlier version but none of them worked or they had lots of viruses/mail ware

Was anyone able to get this to work. It's a really great idea and look!
New FL (face-lifted) '18 with LP (US/CANADA), is it possible to have the front orange turn signal to blink alone __/__/ instead of both __/__/ and keep three LED ON with White color and only one LED flashing with orange?
\__\__===o===__/__/ <-- only this one blinks (same for other side)

Indicator: Parameters/Dataset of 4B. No job for OBD11 in case this is done by software and no hardware change
DCC: All codings are indicating that DCC is installed (ACC is set to driving profiles, headlight level control is set to DCC sensors)
Lets try to add 14 in a different way: Go to Gateway, Adaptions, select Installation List, specified installations. Look for "Wheel Damping Electronics" and set is to coded. Leave and lock car for 15 minutes and retry. The control unit should now appear.
Please note you need to lift your car in a workshop for calibration

I tried changing it to "Not Coded", waiting half an hour, back to "Coded" and waiting again but it was all to no avail. Perhaps it really is just a problem with OBDEleven not reading the module for some reason? I have yet to find someone with VCDS that can help out, but I'll keep looking.

Thank you for trying that. Make sure to recode it to installed, otherwise there might be issues and an "additional installations" error coming up in the gateway
Really looks like a bug to me then. Have tried to reinstall the application?
We still see some bogus data fragments to cause communication issues with the car and probably also with the installation list

I set it back to "Coded" and all seems like it's okay (no errors) so we are back to square one. I haven't reinstalled the application but I have cleared the app data and cache as well as the device cache. Tomorrow I will reinstall the application and if it doesn't work I will try it on a different android device altogether. I appreciate the help and guidance as I am completely at a loss.

Module 14 just doesn't come up. I believe my only option at this point is to hit the dealer or an independent shop that has VCDS or ODIS.

tar1990ek: hmm........I'm more than happy to help - but you need to put in more effort in writing your post!! At the very least, you need to do more work to provide the basic facts about your problem! For example - why have you copied my response to an issue about DCC (adaptive chassis suspension) for a question which relates (I think) to BCM? These are two different modules!! And what exactly is the "problem" -why did you change the BCM, what type of car, what country ... etc? More facts - please! Don

Hi all, just fount this Forum and was wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it, I just got new tail lights from K2 industries (clear/black) and the two tail lights that are connected to the trunk portion or over heating, I can smell bruins plastic after it’s been running for 5 mins, I believe it the resistor Module it has a sticker that says RT197-2-c . I was wondering if anyone knows why this is happening, I’ve contacted K2 and have yet to hear back so kinda frustrated. Thanks

Not much specific info provided - it kind-of makes it impossible to answer your question !!! What country is this- what car is this - what type of tails (incandescent. or LED) were factory fitted to this car - What type tails have you retrofitted (incandescent, or LED - I'm guessing the latter because of load resistors) - did you install a cross wiring harness for the retrofit project) - did you make any coding changes?

Hey, Don dv52 (Australia) , Are you aware if the MQB (MK7.5 Golf GTI) platform allows you to fade in and out all the exterior lights when locking / unlocking the car? Not the main dipped beams, just the front DRL LEDs and rear LED tail lamps. I think some Audi models do this. The effect I am looking to achieve is similar to the modification that fades in and out the interior cabin lights when you turn on or off your headlights. Thank you!

quailallstar: Hi - hope you didn't throw $99 USD at the Donald for the "MAGA super-hero" avatar!!!
Short answer is NO. The only Leuchte-commands that I'm aware-of that allow for delays are: - Blinken links aktiv (beide Phasen); Auf- und Abdimmend mit p_t_blinken_rampe
- Blinken rechts aktiv (beide Phasen); Auf- und Abdimmend mit p_t_blinken_rampe
But of course these commands are specific to the turn-signal function
More than happy to be corrected!!

dv52 (Australia) (Australia) Deviating from the post a little bit, but I’m not familiar with the workings of this forum yet… do you think you’d be able to help me with getting the DRL’s to function properly on the 8ix euro/ROW mk7.5 golf R headlamps that I’ve fitted to my North American 2018 GTI? The physical modules are the same on 8ix and 8iu headlamps across all markets, so I feel like it should a simple coding discrepancy; assuming the BCM isn’t the issue. Everything works as it should, only the DRL’s throw an error and won’t work in the dimmed mode with the fog lights or low/high beams. They’ll still work on their own, even with the errors. Not as important, but it would also be nice to know if I’m able to disable NAR on them To make them more active, as the method for pre-facelift mk7’s doesn’t work and I’m a bit clueless with reading admaps.

sibs94 : Hi - I'm always delighted to discuss stuff with a new-bee!! But as you will learn when your OBD11 journey becomes more informed, an essential prerequisite for remote diagnostics on forums like this is a common understanding of the facts! To this end, the starting point for an issue like LED headlights is a back-story about both the original car itself and a few words about the project for equipment change! So, tell us how this car was factory built - please (this discloses how the headlight wiring loom in the car was configured). Also, please provide a description about the project - I assume this is a retrofit exercise (albeit this assumption could be incorrect). What equipment was installed and was a cross-wiring harness installed? Finally - a very good starting point for our understanding is provision of a copy of the SCAN report for this car (post equipment installation). This is how to digitize the SCAN report so that it can be attached to a new post: Don

Thanks for your willingness to help! It’s somewhat of a retrofit, but physically it’s all plug & play (or so I think). My car is a North American/USA spec 2018 GTI SE dsg. It came with the sunroof, performance package brakes & VAQ differentia, 8IX adaptive LED headlamps (no auto high beam), standard manual climate control, radar from & rear (no adaptive cruise) and rain sensing wipers. I’ve done quite a few other OEM retrofits that probably don’t matter, but they are the Volkswagen AID dash, MIB2.5 Discover pro, power folding mirrors and facelift dynamic euro tail lamps. Originally, I had swapped my factory LED headlamps for some North American Golf R ones to get rid of the red accents, and they didn’t require any coding or adaptations. They just worked. After a short while, I wanted to have more adaptive headlights that would also raise at highway speed; which I figured would be possible with “euro” RHD mk7.5 Golf R headlamps. Unfortunately, I can’t figure out how to code ‘em to the euro settings to alleviate the DRL issue and hopefully make them more reactive. I gave coding out the little amber position light a try, which wasn’t present on these housings, but that didn’t do anything to stop the DRL’s from not working in their dimmed setting.
This may or may not be worth mentioning, but caribbean.green.r on instagram, who has a USA spec 2019 Golf R, is the only other person in North America that I know of who’s done the same swap and they have the same DRL issue as me.

sibs94 :hmm....... my preliminary observation is that your scan report contains lots of what I call "aged DTCs" (Diagnostic Trouble Codes). These are error messages that were first registered in fault memory a while ago and that still remain. Clearly from your records, 31st October 2022 was an important day for this car - (what happened?) Aged DTCs don't have a negative impact on the car - but they do tend to complicate diagnostics on current problems. I suggest that you do a bulk clear of errors using OBD11 and re-post a fresh scan. Second, the headlight fittings on this car aren't managed by the central electrics module. Not surprisingly (because of the complex features on 8IX headlights), these lamps are more directly controlled by the Multifunction Module @ address hex4B and according to your scan, this module appears to be unhappy!! Importantly, the 2 x U12EB00 errors strongly suggest that the current headlight configuration has additional modules that are not correctly registered on the CAN network (my hunch - module(s) on each car side). So, there can be a number of reasons for this situation. Normally with these installations and in addition to the hex4B module, there are auxiliary "Light Modules" installed @ address hex29/hex39, or @ address hex6D/hex7D, or hexD8/hexD9 (Matrix Headlight). Your scan is absent these module registrations! Look at the Control Module screen on OBD11 - are there any modules with either black, or yellow colored tabs surrounding the hex number? Also perhaps look at the following channels on the hex4B module
Installation list, specified installations - Multifunction Module > Yes
- Multifunction module on the second bus connection > Yes
- Light Control Left > Yes
- Light Control Right >Yes
- Light Control Left 2 >Yes
- Light Control Right 2 > Yes
I don't have information about the software switch descriptors on the long-code string for your hex4B module - but it may be prudent to look through the list for obvious inconsistencies
With regard to your specific DRL issue - these lamps will likely also be managed by the (missing) "auxiliary" modules. Alas, these modules do not contain code-able parameters that OBD11 can access. So, not much that can be done to alter their default behavior as factory programmed
