Enable Park Assist

I confirm that I managed to activate the maneuver assistant, both the steering and the brakes work! Now I would like to understand why although I have coded everything as Matt indicates, the parking assist does not work ...

Hey, guys. You could check my message from nov 25 at page 6. The coding is more complicated than you think and Mat posted. On top of that it depends on the options of the exact car. I've spent too much time which is money on that issue before get into the right hands.

Think its about time to have the full coding for IPA…. 


The below coding is extracted from my own car, by comparing before and after coding from a purchased coding dongle.

The system is fully functional, and there is no errors in any of the controllers. Just need to clear errors after initial coding.

It also adds the function, if you have external lights in the door handle, it will light up when maneuvering with IPA. Guess its for better visibility for the cameras

I am not sure if all coding is necessary, but there is no errors.

As mentioned earlier in the tread by numerous people. You need to have the correct HW for this function to work.

correct Zfas version, 12 ultrasound sensors, area View and the Retrofitted >>P button


First part is coding for Maneuvering assist, which is a necessary part of the IPA. But can be coded as seperat function

Ok, I've done the coding from ustolle and it is accepted with no errors.

I still can't get it to park though. I can get as far as choosing a parking space, the >>P button flashes white and the MMI says something to the effect of "Release the steering wheel and hold the AI button". I press the button, release the brake and the car just creeps forward (like it normally does when in gear). It seems unlikely that the >>P button is a bad part, so we're still a little short on coding...

I got maneuvering assist working some time ago thanks to ustolle in another thread that was specific to MA, so I can attest the coding shown above for maneuver assist works. (2019 A6 Prestige w/drivers assist)

I did the coding with VCDS, which makes it very easy to do the ABS bit changes simultaneously. If you're using OBDeleven I think it's trickier. Does the ABS coding "stick" when you do it?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but there is no park assist module in any C8, those functions have been moved into the zFAS in our cars. It's a matter of adjusting the gateway (19) adaptation of "IDE01996-SFT00118-Installation list: specified installations-Parking Assistance" to coded. Maybe post an autoscan and we can figure out what may be different in the '21?

For sure take a full backup before and after the dongle. I think the new VCDS version makes it really easy. I'm happy to volunteer time to sort through the changes when you're done!

Can you post an autoscan for context? Between this and ustolle coding I'm really hoping to get it working.

Between you and ustolle I got it working. I don't have errors, but I believe there is some over-coding so I'm going to try to sort that out in the coming days, then will post the final result.

Did you get it working without using the Kufatec dongle? And were you able to do so with OBDeleven, or did you need VCDS for any of the coding? Also, which button did you add, the <<P or the Audi AI?

Let me know when you get the final coding breakdown, I'm going to be adding it on my car as well.

I'm used to using older versions of VCDS,  but am moving to OBDEleven.  Don't care for the cost of upgrading my VCDS cable comparatively.

When the discussion is performing ABS coding changes simultaneously, what are we talking about? Haven't seen that requirement previously when performing coding, but also never did anything impacting braking.
