Hi sadcrxw to retrofit the front IQ lights, you need the following: - Check whether you have FLA-Fernlicht assistent SWAP/FEC enabled for your basic/LED+ lights (automatic long lights). If not, go to the VW store and purchase the feature if possible. This feature is later needed to enable DLA-Dynamic light assist- this functionality is synonimous with Matrix lights. If not, a SWAP code can be generated after the retrofit for the DLA functionality directly, but this won't be cheap (>1200 EUR). For the latter, ODIS online is needed. Without DLA, the lights are useless, as you won't have the matrix functionality - the lights will be basically overpriced basic LED lights. - Check whether you have 1 or 2 headlight leveling sensors (LWR) either through Adaptation channels in 09 or by looking under the car. If you have DCC, you need to have 2 LWR sensors, one on each axle. For regular suspension 1 sensor is enough. If you do not have sensors, you need to retrofit those prior to retrofitting the lights themselves. Additionaly you need to have a front lane assist camera (unit A5). If not, this retrofit is not feasible. - Retrofit headlight range control unit, aka multifunction module (4B). This is a component and SFD protection enabled module. This means a used unit matched previously to another VIN won't work, you have to buy a brand new unit. Wiring is straightforward and you can pick it up in readily available wiring diagrams. Note that you need to rewire the headlight CANBUS subnetwork from the BCM to the 4B. Be careful where you cut the wires, B7 (Kessy module) is on the same network and it must remain connected to the BCM (you just remove wires for the headlights) - Retrofit the pair of IQ lights, no change in wiring necessary. The IQ lights have one pin less than the basic lights, as the blinker is managed through the CANBUS rather than directly through the BCM. Flash appropriate firmware and datasets to the headlight modules D6 and D7. - Flash the firmware and dataset to the 4B module. Remove component protection with ODIS. - Flash Matrix IQ compatible dataset from another VIN to the BCM module (09). Change the coding for the unit. - Flash the same VIN-mached dataset (you flashed to the BCM) to the Kessy module B7 to clear a VIN mismatch error. - Change coding in 09, 19, 17, A5 - Perform basic headlight adjustment in 4B basic settings. For the adjustment, consult Daniel Stern's well written guide on headlight adjustment (just google for it) - Let a certified workshop perform basic matrix calibration. If you go for the retrofit, I can help you with coding in later stages. Keep in mind that this retrofit is very complex and expensive. It will cost you >2000 EUR... You will need people with access to online ODIS, OBD11, VCtools/VCP with a Pro licence (not free). That said, the visibility with these headlights is so much better, and if you can afford it, I would reccomend going for it.

Do you have a guide on what program to use to make the TPMS dataset? Also how to upload to car?

Hi n3oka, thank you. I have already tried exactly these parameters. Unfortunately, the activation menu does not appear under the menu item Front wiper... Today I have now found the solution through trial and error 09 central electronic (Zentralelektronik) Regensensorik_Verbau und_ABT_Steuerung
Regensensor --> LIN_Regen_Licht_Sensor
Lichtsensor --> LIN_Regen_Licht_Sensor
HMI_Wiper_Comfort_Rain_Sensor_OFF --> activeNow the point with which the activation menu for the front wiper is activated.09 central electronic (Zentralelektronik) Assistenlichtfunktion Maskierung_Regenlichtmenü --> nicht aktiv
A5 Driving Assistance (Frontsensorik für Fahrerassistenzsystem) long coding Rain_light_Sensor --> coded
optional: 09 Zentralelektronik Assistenlichtfunktion Assistenzlicht bei Regen --> aktiv Assistenzfahrlicht, Empfindlichkeit per BAP einstellbar --> vorhanden
n3oka if you like, you can put it to your manuel.

Hi n3oka, I have already tried exactly these parameters from your guide for direct TPMS. Unfortunately, the activation menu does not appear!! i have 8.25 composition media not discover 10... sensors are working...when losing air appears a yellow window on copkit... also on my car alarm application i can see all 4 sensors and their pressure.... but at car infotainment menu doesn't appear.... any idea what's wrong ? thank you

First of all, thank you for the summary of codings in the list, it helps me a lot for my first changes.
But now i´m asking for the scale of the speedmeter. At them moment i only see 20-40-60-... kmh. Is it possible to get a speedmeter scale with also smaller numbers between this?
For example 10 (small) - 20 - 30 (small) - 40 - ....
i saw this in the coding document but with the additional information, that this coding has no effect. Did someone find the right codings for my request?
EDIT: and one additional quesiton: is it possible to get the tacho test coded? so the digital needles would swipe when i start the car?

i made the same coding but nothing.... i think its need other coding because ihave 8.25 composition media...or my screen doesn't support TPMS

Hi guys, I'm asking for help from those who are more experienced than me, does anyone know how you code the animation of the front matrix headlights? I saw on YouTube that they did this encoding, does anyone know how to encode it? Thanks.

This should do it:
4B Multifunction module Adaptations Adaptive_light_functions ---> Active Reference_run_start_condition ---> Engine start Presentation_run_dynamic_AFS_light ---> Active Reference_run_activation_effect ---> Activation effect enabled by engine start Order_reference_run_activation_effect ---> Reference run after activation effect

Coding 4B doesn't mess up matrix functionality ? (that's going to need a proper re-calibration?)

Changing the coding of 4B does invalidate the matrix functionality and the headlights need to be recalibrated. For changing adaptations, I am not sure. I did coding and adaptation changes before calibrating my lights (during retrofit) and after the calibration, I did not mess up with the unit anymore.

Adaptation will not fry the matrix headlights settings. Don't touch the coding options, otherwise the next visit to your dealership will be for re-calibration.

@n3ooka Thankyou for the coding list, I have a skoda octavia mk4, and some of your coding is very helpful. Have you investigated setting the ambient lighting to the selected drive mode at all? There is a guide to doing it for a golf with four drive modes kicking about, but it doesnt work with the octavia (which has five modes) Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
