Great stuff. Did you see on the page 2 link there is a modification to the subwoofer to make it louder? I want to try that.

from the same user a complete installation guide for the RDKS System (TPMS - Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). Looks complicated to install i would definitely not do it while the car is under warranty.
Cheers!

Very nice. He lists the automatic start stop coding change.
Has anyone tried that yet?

This guide only works in NAR if you have the HK system. The wiring it tells you to use if you do not have it, is not located there and you’ll scratch your head wondering why it is not there. I’ve done it and explain it.

Hi, thanks for th info. Please note that on my mk8 golf gte, 1.1.7 is reveresed on the infotainment (tyre turns the other way) 1.1.8, 1.1.10 and 1.1.11 are shown on infotainment but have no value. This is similar to 1.3.9 (which actually has a warning that it is only compatible on golf r) Writing this so that the document can be updated to help others

Power, Torque and Turbo Pressure work well on TDIs with DQ381.

The document lacks entries for Road Signs. Golf 8 in Australai do not have this function enabled. A real pain! Can anyone help?

In Europe, road signs are an option that you can buy on the online shop

Hello, I have tried Cruise Control activation, but doesn't appear on cluster. Is it working for you? Just enabled that one coding?

You only need to aktivate Cruise_control_mode at ECU 13 (Coding). Turn your car oft and on again. Thats it. Now you should be able to select the cruise control in addition to the ACC in the speedometer.
Tested on my Golf 8

Long Coding - Point_of_intervention - early_setting_over_menu (activates Adaptive Lane Guidance with the possibility to set intensity in the menu) - A5 Driver Assistance - Long Coding - HC_Warn_Intensity - Setting_over_Menu (activates Travel Assist menu) - (opțional) A5 Driver Assistance - Long Coding - Lane_assist_off_text - enabled (displays orange icon on dashboard to show if Travel Assist is activated or not).

On the Travel Assist topic...turns out deactivating Travel Assist does NOT get rid of those annoying error messages that the MK8 is known for! I deactivated it yesterday thinking all will be peaceful now and I'll just turn it back on when I get the new steering wheel, but today I got hit with that damn error message like 7-8 times!

Did you also deactivate the KLR / capacitive steering codings in A5 and 13? With these two disabled there should be no check for the hand on detection from the driving assistance

I have activated the Adapting Lane guidance app to keep the center (I have an MK8 Life DSG with no travel assist), but now I can’t keep Lane Assist ON anymore because of all that annoying messages and beeps after something like 10 seconds.
To keep it working I have to keep doing micro steering left and right to let the car know that I’m “driving”. I realised that maybe I don’t have the same steering wheel that Golf with travel assist have (maybe capacitive?).
I’ve checked the two setting you mentioned but apparently they are set respectively on “Not Coded” and “Not Installed”.
What I should do to eliminate the messages and I think also the sto deactivation of the function If I don’t keep steering (on a straight highway 😂) ?

This advice was related to people having defective capacitive steering Sensors and not related to retrofits.
Driving activity detection for lane keeping has been tightened in MFK3, so it bugs you more often without capacitive steering.

I wouldn’t say that is a retrofit.. but just an adaptation 🥲..
Unfortunately the lane assist is unusable since it continues to ask to keep the hands on even if they are..
BTW, as far as you know do the Golfs with travel assist have a capacitive steering wheel that the ones without don’t have?
Just for knowledge

Yep adaption is more fitting.
Travel assist brings the capactive steering wheel together with the travel assist button (assist button moves to left stalk).
In the very early Golf 8 you even had to decide between heated steering or travel assist (with cap sensors)

In 13, use long coding to disable "capacitive steering wheel" In A5, use long coding to disable "KLR"
This should get rid of all error messages popping up constantly when the steering wheel touch detection is faulty.

I have the capacitive steering wheel, with these modifications will it stop asking me for control every 10 seconds?

Nope. It will still bug you about being in charge. To get rid of the message, you will have to move the wheel instead of touching it.
This is only helpful for people getting continuous errors and limitations from a faulty touch detection and makes no sense at all for comfort reasons
