Could it be related to the dashboard hw or sw version? My dashboard is 5H0920340A with software 3450 and i have the Golf R View while another with the 5H0920340 and software 1400 does not have the view.

Hardware versions on the MK3 certainly were an issue on what could be coded.

Hi There, I’m new to the forum.
Seat has an ongoing recall on the new Leons with the eTFSi engine due to software issues and related to the energy system and central electronics. They have a hard time to get this solved after all. I brought mine in but still I have some vague issues. Seatbelt warning, abs, radio stops working, no rear view cam, front assist not available, alarm is going off without reason, etc. Maybe the non-coding possibilities are related to bad software. When I’ve read (OBD11 Next Gen)my new car the first time (Only drove like 1700km) I have 36 issues found. After clearing still most of them are in the system.
Maybe some of you experience the same issues and we’ll need to wait for new software.
Not sure if this is to any help but say in this post some people experience strange issues after coding. But maybe this is related to the sw issues? 🤔
Oh and... keep on posting! I really like everyone is helping one another going forward. Thanks guys!

@bilkstjinder thanks for the update, as you say its always good when people share.
From what i have seen on many Leon / Golf and coding sites many many people are suffering with software issues from the factory. There are also many people having to take there new pride and joy back to dealer to have software and Hardware updates and still being left with stuff not working or being intermittent.
Hopefully over the next couple months VW Will get it sorted.

I want to be able to unlock the Advanced Lane Follow Assist. Now it keeps bouncing between the lines, and I want it to just follow the road/lines. the function is available (point_of_intervention, screenshot sample from a VW, but the same on my device), but when coding it, it says failed: Fix this please asap, the OBDeleven is useless now for me I tried this today and it was successful, maybe they have updated it now? I haven’t yet been out to try it while driving though

4a/ Lane assist systems is a bit annoying that once it is turned off in maxidot menu - assistance systems, it turns back on upon cycling a key.
Thanks to tell @ www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/obd-modifications.463977/#post-4961854However this is the coding that prevents this from happening: -> Control Unit A5 - Driver Assistance -> select Long coding -> Select option 0 -> change setting Perso_HC from Activated to Last_setting or -> Select option 1 -> Select Byte 13 -> Tick bit 3 and ensure Bit 2 is unticked Save. tip: in case you get the error when saving -> (31) function not available, change the mode to vw - diagnostic mode, and try again (even if you are already using this mode, just reselect it again) Once activated, the car will remember the last state of Lane assist (on or off) upon cycling the key.
5/ Deactivate Stop Start
Disabling Stop Start thanks to Phipilipipp on the seat-leon.de forum I have seen that some users have problems with this coding on MK3 but It has been confirmed that it works fine on MK4.
- Select Control Unit 08 (Air Conditioning) - Select Adaptation - Select Deactivation of Start Stop Function
Please note I have got this code from the German Forum, I also had seen this working on the MK3 and some Audi cars. Two guys on the Skoda thread say it dont work for them so all I can think is this is Firmware related.

I was able to add the Offroad View in the Dashboard: In 17-Dashboard go to Adaptions. Set Offroad to Display Go to View Activation Change the setting in View_10 to active. You should see the following in the View cards.
Also if you have a Golf Style e-Hybrid setting View_7 to Active gives you this view from the Gte.

Coding that has not been validated. The following coding snippets are from the guys on the Golf Forum or Me looking at what changes are being sold online and or old MK3 Changes and seeing if they will work on the MK4. There has been some feedback that these changes don,t work when using Control Unit 09 as it requires a security code, The old codes don't work so presume this is SFD Protection doing its job, I will leave them here and once OBD11 have there interface up and running users can try and see if it works. Further feedback on the Offroad change, Some Golf and Leon users have confirmed it did not work for them others it does so there is obviously more detail needed on Hardware / Software setup to expand on this coding.
Control Unit 08
Saves the last temperature of the Heated seats
With this mod, the temperature set in the last instance in the seats will be saved for when you start the car again. 1 - Module 08 - Air conditioning / heating electronics 2 - Adaptation 3 - Retention of driver's seat heater level - Default set to Active for 10 Minutes can be changed to Not Active or Active 4 - Retention of frt.pass. seat heater level - Default set to Active for 10 Minutes can be changed to Not Active or Active
so far one user blikstjinder confirmed this does not work.
Activate memory function Aircare - dont know if this is fitted to the Leon
Select Control unit 08, Select Filtering of interior air, store:, Select Filtering of interior air, store: Change value to Active.
Automatic activation for windscreen de-icing on the only example I have this was already set.
With this mod, when starting the car if the cold conditions are adequate, the air conditioner will start blowing to the windshield by default to defrost it. 1 - Module 08 - Air conditioning 2 - Adaptations 3 – Automatic Activation of front windshield heater at MAX-Defrost - (Change value to Active)
Automatic activation of hands heating, cold start on my example this was already set
1 - Module 08 - Air conditioning / heating electronics 2 - Adaptation 3 - Hand heater function during cold start: - (Change value to Active)
Control Unit 09 - Confirmed by multiple owners as locked out.
Switch off rear window wiper
Control unit 09 - Adaptations: - Rear Window Wiper: Konfortwischen heck - Default is Active change to Not Active.
DRL In lighting menu Select control unit 09 - Electronic control unit - Select Adaptation - Select Daytime running lights: Select Tagfahrlicht Aktivierung durch BAP oder Bedienfolge moeglich, Set to Active
Auto Unlock of doors when putting car into Park (DSG Only) if your car is setup to auto lock when you drive off then this feature will auto unlock your doors when you select P on the gearbox.
1/ Select Control Unit 09 2/ Select Adaptations 3/ Select ZV_Autolock: 4/ Select automatic_unlock_nar: 5/ Change setting to Active from Inactive.
Rear DRL Lights With this modification when you have the DRLs on, the outer taillights will also light.
1 - Module 09 - Electronic control unit 2 - Adaptation 3 – Daytime running light 4 - Tagfahrlicht-Dauerfahrlicht aktiviert zusaetzlich Standlicht: - (Change value to On)
Adjust Front and Back window heating time With this mod, you can change the time the window heating is active. 1 - Module 09 - Electronic control unit - Code (31347) 2 - Adaptation 3 - Window heater: 4 - Heating_rear_window_activation_time: - (Change value to desired level in sec.) 5 - Running time of heated front window: - (Change value to desired level in sec.)
Deactivate the automatic rear wiper wiping with rain and reverse gear If you don't like that every time it's raining and you back up the rear wiper starts, with this mod you can deactivate it.
1 - Module 09 - Electronic control unit - 2 - Adaptation 3 - Rear window wiper 4 - Traenenwischen Heck: - (Change value to Not Activated)
Stop windshield wipers when opening the hood With the windshield wipers running, when you open the hood, they will stop in whatever position they are.
1 - Module 09 - Electronic control unit 2 - Adaptation 3 - Front_wiper: 4 - Wischer Stopp bei Oeffnen der Motorhaube:- (Change value to Active / Not Active) On my sample car this is already set to active.
Activation of the rear wiper continuously
1 - Module 09 - Electronic control unit 2 - Adaptation 3 - Rear Window Wiper: 4 - Heckwischer Weiterlauf - (Change value to On)
Activate windows for 1 minute when opening the doors.
1 - Module 09 - Electronic control unit 2 - Adaptation 3 - ZV Komfort 4 - Freigabenachlauf_abbruch_bei_tueroeffnen: - (Change value to Inactive) Please note step 4 is a guess on my part as its a very close match to original coding.
Progressive turn on/off internal light 1/ Select Control unit: 09 (Central Electrics) 2/ Select Adaption 3/ Suchbeleuchtung_allgemein: 4/ Select KL58 Einschalten mit Rampe: Set to Active to turn on Set to not active to turn off

1/ Control Unit 09 (central electrics) 2/ Select Adaption 3/ Select ZV allgemein: 4/ Select Funk_bei_Kl15_ein: 5/ Select to active or back to Not Active if you dont want it to work.
Control Unit 17
Laptimer in the Dashboard: thanks to tonykr76 Control unit 17-Dashboard
Select Adaptions Select Personalization default value Set Display_Laptimer to active
If this does not work then you need the following long coding
Control Unit 17 - Dasboard Select Long Coding Select either Byte 1 / Bit 3 and tick it or Lap counter to Yes.
Confirmed as working on Golf 8 but not Leon yet.
Seat belt warning off/changed
Control Unit 17 - Long Coding - Text Version (0) - Select Seat belt warning - Default is Version 1 (European) you can change it to Version 2 (US) or Off
thanks to massimo23 forum.obdeleven.com/post/49811
Offroad View in the Dashboard: thanks to massimo23
this is from golf8 so may be different setup on Leon
In 17-Dashboard
go to Adaptions. Set Offroad to Display Go to View Activation Change the setting in View_10 to active. You should see the following in the View cards.
Speed Warning
Control Unit 17 - Long Coding - Text Version (0) - Speed warning - Default is off on the car i have access to but can be changed to On
Staging
Please note on the Leon's in the past the early dashboards did not support this
Control Unit 17 - Long Coding - Text Version (0) - Staging - Default is on for the car i have access to is No but can be changed to Yes
Oil Temp Display
Control Unit 17 - Long Coding - Text Version (0) - Oil temperature display - Set to Yes
Add extra detail to the Tacho
previously this did Original the tacho only displays 0-20-40-60-80-100-etc you can change this so it also (in a smaller font) displays 10-30-50-70 etc. thanks to @denabl
Control Unit 17 - Long Coding - Text Version (0) - Tachometer erweiterte skalenteilung - Set to Yes
Control Unit 44
Enable power steering with engine stopped This is a temporary modification until you recycle the ignition
It is very useful to be able to move the wheels without having the car started at times when we are carrying out a repair, for example, if we run out of battery and the car does not start, to be able to push the car and be able to move the direction.
1 - Select Control unit 44 - (Power steering) 2 - Select Adaptation 3 - Select Activation of pwr steering asst without engine running:
4 - Change value to On (it will reset to off after you recycle the ignition)

rheveling I am afraid not, one of my colegues in Germany said that none of the control unit 09 changes were allowed they all wanted a code which we are hoping is related to SFD and will be fixed with the OBD11 Upgrade.

Sorry I didn't mean that. I now see all dashes of the fuel content, but I just want to see the amount of km. That it says that I, for example, still drive 180 km before the tank is empty
Like the picture from the post above, it says he can do another 150km with the tank

I dont know the answer but it looks like massimo23 changed this to View 10 (does not mean it will work on the Leon) but worth a trawl through the view with the offroad set.
Had a quick look through Control unit 17 and i can see under personalization default value attribute Display_Range: which in all the cars I have access to is set to Active but if it is not then change it and see what you get.

tonykr76 afraid it is possible that your MIB version is the wrong sort or software version I have in the past seen these errors and found if I do one of the following it can help. 1/ Do a Data/Cache clear of the app on Android phone 2/ Run a Scan of the car 3/ Have a read of this forum.obdeleven.com/post/37041

That option is for activating the Travel Assist (The one that follow the road continuously), right? Because my car only have the Line Assist (it only correct a little bit, but it doesn't follow the lines) Thanks

Thats right. It is called Lane Assist. When Im driving on the highway f.i. than the car will keep within lines without ‘bouncing’ left to right. It will only work properly when you have road markings (dotted or solid) on both sides of your lane.

That it says that I, for example, still drive 180 km before the tank is empty Like the picture from the post above, it says he can do another 150km with the tank You can see that in two ways basically; #1: set you view with stearing wheel button to the view with the dials link the older cars. Than scroll with the right scroll wheel to the view where you see you car displays. The view first will show “hold ‘OK’ for menu”. Now wait a few minutes and it will show the remaining KM before refuel. #2: set you view with stearing wheel button to the view with the dials link the older cars. Select the Left view with your stearing wheel button. Nou you can scroll with right scroll wheel to the remaining refuel KM. Press ok to save. Is that what you mean?
