I gave up and bought the switch and kufatec dongle. It works but a few points.
1 on the A8 the switches are bolted in from the the bottom. Real pig of a job to get them out. Entire disassembly of the whole centre console required.
2 the system is clunky and really really slow. Like watching your grandmother trying to park a 40T truck. It does not “see” lines marking parking bays, it just finds a gap big enough for the car then dumps it right in the middle of it. It took a full 40 seconds to put my car in a space 6m wide and it was parked with the bay line right under the middle of the car. While a queue of other cars waited for “the idiot who can’t park a car”!
3 Unless the space is so large that you don’t need any help it will reject it as “insufficient room to manoeuvre’
I would say it has limited use and prepare to be disappointed when you get it working. Maybe this might save some people a lot of work for not much reward!

I've successfully coded IPA, also bought and installed button, but i have a problem - after pressing button (to start parking process) I hear working ABS sounds and then engine stops... I think that the problem is in 03 ABS codings...

Sorry guys! Any khows how can activate only the fromt sensors?
My car came with both but only came activate the back sensors, no have the P button but have the front sensors installed, for this reason i like to test to activate it.
I also actiivated the ops of course only can see the back sensors.

My local dealership said they dont know how to update module from 291 to 295, as they cant find instructions for it.

Wow, thanks for your honest thread, just nearly bought the kit from Kufatec. Is it really that bad? The YouTube video's really big it up. Shame for the A8 if it is a disappointing buy.

My own experience is similar. It is seriously underwhelming. Not worth the cost of the dash button and certainly not worth the cost of the Kufatec dongle. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't bother. I'd much rather spend my time & money on the start/stop memory box that's come out recently.

Think its about time to have the full coding for IPA….  The below coding is extracted from my own car, by comparing before and after coding from a purchased coding dongle. The system is fully functional, and there is no errors in any of the controllers. Just need to clear errors after initial coding. It also adds the function, if you have external lights in the door handle, it will light up when maneuvering with IPA. Guess its for better visibility for the cameras I am not sure if all coding is necessary, but there is no errors. As mentioned earlier in the tread by numerous people. If that is the case, You have to flash dataset. Changing coding and adaptions will not work. The car will stop when start parking. Hello, how do I get the IPA Flash dataset? |

just to understand, if I have right understood to enable both Maneuvering assist and IPA the following optionals are necessary:
1-front and read parking sensors (ultrasonic 6 front + 6 rear)
2-360 view cameras
3-ACC
4-automatic gearbox
other ??
Is the central console pushbutton necessary ?

Hi,
I have a A8 D5 the A5 module part number is 4Ke907107AR. all calibration and coding is incorrect. I have tried flashing the module through VCP and ODIS, it won't let me it keeps showing a invalid request prompt.
Please any help would be highly appreciated.

you need to put the camera/sensors display on and then select that you want it to search for a space, it will do that on the mmi screen and once its found the space it will tell you on screen to press the button as shown in the video I posted.

Its doing the same thing even when the cameras are on the display.
Actually I have noticed, when i run the engine, the parking assist button is available and i can press on it. Then after about 4-5seconds the screen disappears and the button goes grey.
Do you maybe have this working on your car? Have you done any coding?
