Jd, on the hex part, have you tried using a binary-to-hex online converter? I don’t know what that is. Sorry. I think with OBD11 you have to code the whole module 03 at once in order to write the two bytes at the same time. Not doing this seem to potentially get you into trouble or at least not reach what you want.. and the only way I found this far is to covert each of the two bytes binary to HEX (ie. 1010101= 55) and then update the whole module HEX with the two new HEX values (long string with all the bytes’ HEX values seen at the top when long coding bytes and bits for a module in OBD11). That’s what I briefly did in my earlier post, and would recommend digging into that and the support page I also pointed at. That one was really good for me, with pics and good explanations). Not really easily explained in text, but it should not be as tricky as it might seem - I’m a OBD11 and HEX-newbie myself 😊. Here is an example of converter to use: www.rapidtables.com/convert/number/binary-to-hex.html

andreaskSorry, but did not quite understand the problem. I'm using Obdeleven on IOS, there is no problem to code two, three or more bytes simultaneously. See video attached. The same applies to Android version.

The same applies to Android version. Video was not working, but sounds good if it shows how to code two bytes... bits for sure is working, since you have to code bits to alter one byte. You are sure you are referring to bytes, not bits..? That would be really nice to get hold of such video in that case 😊

Video is working fine. Just downloaded it and checked to be sure upload was ok. See screenshot from video bellow. I changed 2, 3 and 5 byte there, as an example. Also, I coded Module 3 "Brakes" and enabled brake function for Maneuvering Assist. And all is working good so far.

beatx5Had the same situation with bunch of errors. Was not able to clear them, even coding was correct. StartStop and ACC was not working, there was message to contact workshop. After week of unsuccessful attempts to clear codes and to fix situation, today I tried eddlund trick with battery in the trunk. That was not easy to figure out which one is negative clamp, space in the trunk was very narrow. However, after some 30 minutes I figured out what to do and... that did the trick. All errors are gone, StartStop and ACC is working again. There are no any errors left, except for "additional installation detected" in module 19 Gateway. But I had this one error before I started to code ParkingAssist. Thanks eddlund!

karlis - thanks for this good information.
Did you see my pictures around the regular 12V battery? Which cable you have unplugged? For information I've an A8 55 tfsi.

beatx5 Look at left side, not right side of the battery. At the top of the left side, see "red arrow" in pic attached (this is pic from your post). I have A6 45tfsi, however, in picture it looks quite similar to my battery.

Seems like the battery is located at the right side under trunk floor, and even sealed with plates and no screws. (The manual also clearly states “leave it to workshop” for the smallest thing that has to do with battery replacement etc. so guess they made it a bit tricky by purpose).. Should be same procedure, just want to know if someone figured out the easiest way to gain access on the Q8?

I’ve tried googling on battery placement before asking here, and only found one picture resembling the passenger/driver seat floor with an hatch, so you might be right. When first looking in the trunk myself, I found this sealed box under the floor with something looking like battery cover and some clamps inside. Will check the passenger seat floor as well :-) Beatx5 and Karlis, don’t your cars above have the Mild Hybrid System? I thought both a6 45 and a8 55 did?

Also confirmed on Q8, removing minus clamp for a few (10-15 seconds) resets some of the unexpected errors from the MA coding, ie the SOS-one which at least appeared for me. Let’s see if it keeps away.

If you can PM me the full hex coding for the MA modules (03, 09,17,19,A5) I can compare for you to make sure we didn’t miss anything.

I can only speak from own experiences, and for sure I recognize it is a bit worrying with error codes, one would like to clear them all. However, had a few errors already existing when buying my Q8 and similar with previous Audi’s, starting from 2006. There has always been at least some errors, something lurking in there, even though not affecting the experience or functions of the car. Just wanted to share, not all faults are necessarily harmful, and at times, even the Audi workshop can’t sort them out. Anyway, hoping you’ll get it sorted out enough to feel comfortable. Also - There is a bunch of really helpful guys in here including yourself, so thanks to all of you. :-).

Thanks. Changed "EA emergency asist" to Variant 1. Now there is no error message in the MMI but still in A5 and 01. I will now wait some time. And I was able to fix the gateway list. Maybe I don't have to call my Audi dealer

I've had a go at enabling MA on my A6 C8 Avant but unfortunately it seems the following coding won't work for me:
STG A5 > Coding > Byte 44 > Bit 5 auf "MA_sterring,active"
STG A5 > Coding > Byte 44 > Bit 6 auf "MA_breaking,active"
STG A5 > Coding > Byte 44 > Bit 7 auf "MA_maneuver_assist,installed"
I receive an error that says "Function not available" when I try to write the three bit changes.
All other coding changes were accepted, so not sure why these won't work for me.
I only have the tech pack so no 360 cameras or additional assist features.
Based in the UK. 2019 Model.

Just nipped out to the car and had no problems coding it all now. I need to re-read the thread though because after resetting the MMI I have no MA options. (coded with the Bonet unlocked and engine off) I'll have another look in the morning.

Ah well, it appears MA doesn't work on my A6 C8 Avant UK car (S-Line, tech pack). Double checked the codings this morning, reset the MMI, but no luck it seems.
When I press the parking sensors button, I see the usual rear camera view (how I so wish I had 360 cameras!), but there's no extra icons on the car view, or next to the options along the bottom, or within camera settings to enable/disable MA.
This is the coding I used:
STG 09 > Adaptation: MAS12843-Maneuvering brake function, activated ,1. (this was already active for me)
STG 44 > coding > Byte 02 > Bit 1 auf "Maneuvering assistant,0=not active / 1=active"
STG 09 > Coding > Byte 44 > Bit 5 auf "MA_sterring,active". (used 09 instead of A5 due to not having 360 cameras)
STG 09 > Coding > Byte 44 > Bit 6 auf "MA_breaking,active"
STG 09 > Coding > Byte 44 > Bit 7 auf "MA_maneuver_assist,installed"
STG 19 > Installation list, specified installations > Parking assist > coded
STG 03 > Coding > Byte 10 - Bit 0 - Activate
STG 03 > Coding > Byte 24 - Bit 7 - Activate
Hopefully I've not missed anything?

Thanks a lot I had the same situation before but not in the same case. To solve the issue, you have go to Audi dealership and ask them to do the SVM operations. The ODIS will recognize the coding/parameterized data in your car is not same as the original code in Audi database. The ODIS will download the correct coding and parameterized info back to your car. After that, you won't see the error anymore. Issue 100% solved but cost $$$
