The new Touareg has everything needed to enable wireless carplay and android interface...
Simple to turn it on:
1. Open your bonnet. The new Touareg only allows ODB changes when your bonnet is open. Go figure!? 2. Go to the multimedia control unit. Select adaptations. 3. Turn on the 5gHz Wifi. 4. Turn on Wireless Carplay and Android. 5. Update and exit OdbEleven app.
Now you need to turn on Wifi from the menu in the head unit, go to your phone setting and find/connect to your car's Wifi and bluetooth and... Enjoy!

I have a 2019 launch edition. Innovision pack. Hardware number 760035067, Softwarenumber 760035067, software version 2499.
VW docs might say the feature is unavailable, yet there are adaptaion switches to enable it.... and they work as long as you also enable the 5gHz wifi.

Just to confirm wireless: Apple car play - works. Android auto - doesn't work.
I think the headunit needs additional software for Android auto to work wireless.
If anyone gets it working for Android auto wireless then let me know.

Newbie here. Just purchased a 2019 VW Touareg. Trying to enable Wireless carplay for ios device. To do this what ODBeleven device / pack would I need to purchase. Can the STARTER Pack allow we to make the change to the multimedia control unit and enable the 5ghz wifi?

Hi Hammer, I'm a bit of a newbie to this myself - many years coding in assembler though Yes the basic unit will do the job, but I'd splash for the Pro unit anyway. You'll find yourself doing what I have been doing, tinkering with friend's cars. Telling your sister's GTi that it's an Audi (only 10 credits) for extra power and torque... So many things you will want to do once you get started.

Hi There,
I purchased the OBD11 Pro version and spent most of Saturday trying to get Wireless carplay working.
Was able to log into the Multimedia unit and find the switch for enabling the 5GHZ wifi.
From there I couldn't see any options for turning on Wireless Carplay or Android within the options of the ODB11 app or the head unit directly. I then connected to the car's WLAN (Or hotspot) and but I wasn't able to get the Carplay to link to the head unit via the Wireless LAN.
Wondering if there is a step that I have missed? Any idea's on how to get this working would be appreciated.

Hi Hammer, Go back into the mutilmedia control unit, go to adaptations. Find the Vehicle Configuration section. Find the 5gHz WiFi, then look a few options below that. I cannot remember the exact option names but it's Wireless Apple (something) and Wireless Google (something). That should be all you need Enjoy!

Have you connected your iphone to bluetooth and wifi in your car? You will need to turn on wifi in the menus of your head unit first. Once you have connected to the wifi, your iphone should simply connect to wireless carplay.

I have tried this and still doesn’t seem to work. Not sure if you have some more details of exactly what you did?

I cannot tell you anything more or help you at all without knowing more about what you have done or not done. Did the adaptations run and work? have you setup wifi in your head unit? Have you conncted to the bluetooth and wifi? Do you have an iPhone? It's too hard to know without any information.

Thanks for replying.
I have a 2020 Touareg premium with innovision pack.
I have gone into the OBD11 and made sure the following are turned on.
Coding Go into media then choose vehicle configuration.
Apple_DIO_Wirelss = on Google_GAL_Wireless = on
Apple_DIO = on Google_GAL = on
Wifi_Client_HMI = on Wlan_5ghz_Switch = activated
I then made sure the car wlan was on and connected. Made sure Bluetooth was on and connected.
I’m running an iPhone 11 Pro on latest iOS.

Wow. It looks like you've done everything the same as me - including the same phone... Only difference is I have a launch edition with innovision pack. Have you rebooted your head unit? (hold the volume knob for 10 seconds or so unit the screen goes blank, then press the volume knob again to restart). I am honestly not sure past that.

I see this procedure in another forum. They said that it was necessary delete all previous sincronización of the phone with the infotainment. When you code the 5F adaptations , then sincronice the phone with the infotaintment.

I am not sure I fully understand your message, but yes. You need to activate wlan for wireless carplay. Connecting to bluetooth should auto-connect to the wlan in the car. The first time you connect you should be prompted to unlock your iphone. You make also have to tell your iphone it's ok to connect to carplay while the phone is locked.

The question is whether there is an option to activate the Android Auto wireless connection in ObdEleven? Carplay works approx.

Yes, you can activate it, but Android does not support it. The option to enable it is there and perhaps one day Android will be updated and it will work.

I would add initial instruction (topic starter) with: 1- buy a sim card with internet plan and establish wlan connection with yr phone (test internet through your car wifi) after everything is done, close bonnet and restart headunit, after restarting it shows up apple car play device (without cable) able to connect

If you go into settings on your phone, select wifi settings, find your car's wifi, select it and "forget" the network... Bluetooth should automatically set up your car's wifi connection when you next start the car. If it does not, then manually go and reconnect to the car's wifi. That should fix the problem. The only other time I have had issues is around a lot of electrical interference - industrial machinery can make it drop out.

I used the app Wireless CarPlay in my OBDeleven but it doesn’t work. How do I manually code it in OBD? It cost me 100 credits and it doesn’t work
