Anyone who knows how to get the speedometer to show the right speed? If i watch the live data through the obdeleven i get the accurate speed, but the instrument cluster is showing around 5% lower than the actual speed.

• chanel 17 (dashboard) • long coding • wheel circ.
Then it's a question of trying all versions offered and comparing with your GPS speed while driving. Use Google Maps, Waze, or any app. Or a radar if you have access to one.
It's what I do when I change my wheels and tires from winter to summer... I now have 245/35/19, so speedo is off.
If someone has a better way, please tell us.

calibrate the speedo by changing the wheel circumference setting
In the Dashboard unit, go to long coding and you will find Wheel Circumference The selectable settings are; Version 1, 3, 4 and 6. The different values for the different versions are:
V1 Trip 2056mm Speed 2138mm
V3 Trip 2056mm Speed 2056mm
V4 Trip 2066mm Speed 2149mm
V6 Trip 2066mm Speed 2066mm
215/60-16 2054 mm 215/55-17 2066 mm 235/45-18 2069 mm 235/40-19 2074 mm

You are not the first to report this problem!!
Have you tried changing the diagnostic mode?
Perhaps try entering a security code BEFORE attempting the change (use the recommended number). Yes- I know a security code wasn't needed to make the first change. Try resetting the car to factory setting in the MENU (the MIB screen). UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES use the "factory settings" option in the module!!\

If your Golf was built prior to about mid 2016 - the security code for the Dashboard module is 20103. If after this date, it's 47115

huh? 2020 crafter - that's a van, isn't it? Why are you asking question about a non MQB platform vehicle on Golf mk7 forum? I assumed you had a Golf - sorry, I know nothing about Crafter Vans

The same method works with Golf mk7, but the values are different. I will post the values for Golf as soon as I get my hands on my wife's car. A link to my original post about calibrating the speedo here. Please remember to multiply the theoretical calculated tire circumference by ,985 to get the actual value.

I don't, my app wouldn't let me select and confirm any other options except the ones mentioned. This happened with Passat b8 though.

The values for Golf mk7 are:
V1 Trip 1958 mm Speed 2036 mm
V3 Trip 1958 mm Speed 1958 mm
V4 Trip 1976 mm Speed 2055 mm
V6 Trip 1976 mm Speed 1976 mm
So basically if you've mounted 205/55-16 tires which have a circumference of about 1955 mm, V3 would be your best pick. Our Golf has 225/40-18 tires mounted with a circumference of about 1972 mm. Remember to multiply the theoretical calculated circumference by ,985 to get the actual measurement. Another way is of course to measure your tire diameter in mm and multiply it by 3,14.

sergeypulsarexpo : OK thanks. I learn new stuff every day - which is a very good thing!! I've not seen the "speed adjustment tool" in your link (I wish that I could speak/read German)! Looks interesting - have you installed this device? If so, where is it connected into the wiring loom and how is it controlled to select the correction value? Don
