I accidentally opened the gateway list. And started checking and un-checking stuff (thinking it was a mere menu view filter).
Now I keep getting the "U112400 Data bus Additional Installations detected fault".
Is there a way to reset the data gateway list back to default? (I cant remember what I ticked and unticked)??

If your list is full and correct then I think you have removed the following control units from your application. (01) Engine Control Module 1 (3C) Lane Change Assistant (52) Door Electronics Passenger Side (02) Transmission Control Module (B7) Access Startsystem Interface (15) Airbag (A5) Front Sensors Driver Assistance System (08) Air Conditioning (2B) Steering Column Locking (17) Dash Board (76) Parking Assistance (22) All Wheel Control (03) Brakes 1 (42) Door Electronics Driver Side (A9) Actuator For Structure-Borne Sound (44) Steering Assistance (09) Central Electrics (16) Steering Column Electronics (55) Headlight Regulation (5F) Information Control Unit 1 So logically all you need to do is put them back in again. When you add a control unit if its status is Green its good and OBD11 Can talk with it, if its red there are errors if Black then it can talk to OBD11, Normally due to fact its not there. Check out forum.obdeleven.com/board/100/app-usage-tips there is some info on the system and how to use it there. Also there is a help function in the app, select that and scroll down to Application Usage then (in this case) select Control Unit List.

Thanks testeronline. Did not find time to reconstruct the list. Also 47 has been removed. 47 is the upgrade sound system and should be added in case a sound system is installed

Thank you, both of you. I have done the following in attempt to rectify if 2 days ago. I have: 1. removed my car from my car list 2. added it again and scanned After that I had these modules back in the Module list. However the fault code "U112400 Data bus Additional Installations detected fault" still persists and cannot be cleared. Help ?

"Also 47 has been removed. 47 is the upgrade sound system and should be added in case a sound system is installed" I will add this again and see if this clears it.

Also 47 has been removed. 47 is the upgrade sound system and should be added in case a sound system is installed I did not included 47 because according to the list provided the first control unit that was added was 47 (@11:53), then later (@11:59) it was removed again.

hmm....... looks like some very innovative changes have been made - I'm guessing this car isn't a mk7.5. Why don't you post-up a copy of the current auto-scan (unedited) so we can see exactly what the Gateway module is complaining about.

The other members above helped. I found the missing module. The car is TT Audi. I asked similar questions there but, guess what. No one bothers to reply. That part of the forum is dead. I saw how active and supportive here in Golf people are. So I asked here. I was asking for things that are related to how the app and obdeleven work and not something that is necessarily tied to a specific model. Good news is that the issue is solved. I wish the TT sub forum was more active and like this

It is specific to Audi as you have modules the vw don’t, so if it was one not in a vw golf (like radio) for instance then you could’ve been going round and round for ages until you give up the info people neede to help

Hello, I also have the error code U112400 at obdeleven since I activated the gateway list. Some control units have now been removed. Can someone help me how I can get these remote control units registered again? Many thanks and greetings, Rena

^^^^ pocahontas: Hi. Correctly registering modules on the (CAN) Gateway list ain't difficult -it's done like this (first connect to the dongle): OBDeleven: Maintenance of (CAN) Gateway list
Select the blue-circled lines that I have shown in the "star" on the first screen - then scroll down the list of control modules on the second screen. Identify those modules that don't have either a RED, or GREEN circle around the hex address (on the upper RHS of each module). These are the modules that either aren't registered (and should be registered), or modules that are incorrectly registered (and should be removed).
The colored circles surrounding the hex address of the module mean the following: - GREEN = correctly registered module with no errors reported in module
- RED = correctly registered module with errors (DTCs) reported in module
- BLACK = Module physically installed on CAN network, but NOT registered in Gateway list
- YELLOW = Module registered in Gateway list, but NOT physically installed on CAN network
After you have compiled the list of BLACK/YELLOW circled modules, select the pencil in red circle on bottom of the second page in my picture (scroll-down, it's on the bottom of the page) - you will then be presented with this screen: Depending on the status of the modules in your BLACK/YELLOW circle list - add/remove ticks against the associated hex addresses on the page above (scroll down the page to find more modules). Then select OK and re-poll the car's CAN network (select the star on the 1st page of the 1st picture). If you have correctly completed the process - there should be no BLACK/YELLOW circles in the module list on the second screen of my first picture above
It's that easy!!!

Hello Don,
can you actually delete and add control units in the gateway installation list?
Thanks + greetings, Renata

Hello Don, can you actually delete and add control units in the gateway installation list? Thanks + greetings, Renata Renata: Yes, of course "you" can do both - but the Gateway list maintenance process has to reflect the physical installation of modules in the car.
It's also important to understand that registering the module does nothing more than establishing a communication path with the other modules. When adding/removing modules, you will still need to separately set-up the long code and adaptation channels correctly and if the module is part of the Component Protection constellation, you will need to separatly deal with the CP error.

OK thanks. ;-)
What can I do if something is wrongly coded in the control unit 17 dash panel insert. Reset done, but unfortunately the error persists with error code U101400?
Thank you for the detailed help ...

Don: I followed everything, but now I have not activated infinite control units in the gateway installation list and 3 (47, BB + BC), which I have ...
If I activate these, I get error messages, but why?

I usually suggest manual processes where possible - but perhaps the best approach in your instance is to use OBD11's auto mode for maintaining the gateway installation list. cupra280's alter-ego, testeronline wrote an excellent user manual for the new OBD11 software which you can read HERE. I only found this little gem a few days ago - but it's a great reference tool IMO. scroll down the document to 6/ Autocode gateway Don

Hi DV52, To clarify, does a black module mean that the car is equipped with the corresponding function, just needing to be coded? I was coding lane assist and parking pilot, and saw that (76) park assist was added to the list, but black. After undoing some changes, the yellow A5 was again green. I have the basic pre-sense and no rear camera. My 5F was wiped clean during a battery swap, and I have been trying to recover all systems.

pt16a4 : The colored dot does NOT really indicate whether the "car is equipped with the corresponding function"! As I assume, the OBD11 software uses the colored dot to indicate the result of the challenge/response request that the Gateway module makes to the CAN network. To explain; the Gateway module (which lives @ address hex19) is the principal controller of communication's traffic on the CAN network. For this role, it has an "installation list" that tells it which modules are connected to the CAN network.
The hex19 module "pings" each of these modules within a diagnostic session to see if they are alive and healthy. It expects to get a response from each registered module saying either "I'm here and I have no faults", or "I'm here and I have faults". I understand that GREEN dot indicates the former and a RED dot indicates the latter. Importantly it expects to get responses from ALL registered modules - and no more responses for modules that are not registered (so, a one-to-one relationship)
However, when there is a misalignment between the "Installation list" and the modules that are physically installed on the CAN network, one of two additional responses occurs; no response at all from a module that is registered in the "Installation list", or a response from a module that isn't on the "Installation list". I understand that the BLACK dot indicates the former and a YELLOW dot indicates the latter. So if you have a BLACK dot next to a module - it means either that the module isn't physically connected to the CAN network, or that it is connected and that the comms part of the module isn't operating.
A YELLOW dot means that the module is connected to the CAN network, but that it's missing from the "Installation list"

Don,
I appreciate the thorough explanation, that makes sense and helps a lot.
Module 76 has been removed - I don't believe the hardware is installed, as the Park Assist settings were suggesting.
A5 is back to green after undoing the changes.
