Hi all, new to this OBDeleven stuff. I'm trying to activate the traffic information but I don't have the 5F option on the app. Is there something I'm missing or it just can't be done on a 2015 Golf r.
Managed to turn off the stop/start but also wanting to do the Lock Acknowledge with Horn but can not find this in the app.
(1) feedback signals-Acoustic feedback
Value=Yes
(2) Lock feedback signals-Acoustic feedback
Value=Yes
(8) feedback signals-Acoustic feedback global
Value=Aktive
(7) feedback signals-Acoustic feedback
Value=Active
(8) feedback signals-Acoustic feedback duration
Value=Short(kurz)
Can only get to Select Control unit 09 (Central Electrics)
Security access
Access code 31347

Just go into the module list, find the central electronics and go into that, then go into adaptions, then find the feedback signals menu, then go into it and find the options and change them, then press and hold the green tick, it’ll then ask you for the security code, enter that or choose from list, then do all the other options the same

Thanks for your help vwjap, but once I get in to the adaptions menu I can't find anything saying feedback signals. All I can find is Acknowlegement signals, if I open that up It's all in German and can't find where to change it to English.

Greetings wgolfmk7, has a front camera installed but I'm trying to do the traffic update for the head unit when you push the button on the radio.
My other problem is as soon as I go past adaptions it's all in German.

Ok new module then (maybe look at the 7.5 mods) but I have done a video for that mod

Some you can’t fella, I use google translate to see what that say if I’m looking for something in particular (make a backup and send it to yourself via email, then copy and paste into google translate), but they stay in German in the app

I'm a little bit disappointed in my OBDeleven, have tried changing indicators from 3 to 4 blinks, didn't work but says it's set for 4, turned on traffic information, doesn't work, set horn for acknowledgment on lock and unlock, didn't work so had enough credits for the app and that says not compatible, only thing I've been able to do is turn off stop/start function. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it eventually.

Have you rebooted the MIB after doing any of these because they are all easy ones to do. USE long coding and you dont need credits

Tried the long coding with no luck so thought I'd try the app, didn't use any credits as it said it was not compatible, would not accept the tick.

Stevo: If you are interested in persevering, we can go through the tweaks one-at-a-time. I can take you through each tweak step-by-step
Which tweak do you want to start-with? If the traffic information tweak - I need to know what country you are from.

I would appreciate that Don. I'm in Australia, doesn't matter what is done first. Maybe start with the easier ones first so I can get used to it,hopefully I'll get better as I go. Cheers for the offer Don 👍

Cheers for the offer Don 👍 ^^^^^ Oh- you are a fellow Antipodean? I suspected that I recognized the accent in your posts!!! Let's start with the blinker number:
Change Number of Turn-Signal Cycles
There are 2 x separate procedures for this tweak: OBDeleven procedure & In-car procedure
OBDeleven Procedure- Select Central electrics module @ address hex09
- Select security access
- Enter the magic number 31347
- Select adaptation
- For post 2016 cars, search for Außenlicht. For older vehicles, search for Turn signal control
- Select Komfortblinken Blinkzyklen
- Change blink number (1-5)
- Confirm change and exit software
In-car procedure - Press the Car button on the RHS of the discover/composition media head.
- Press Set-up on the bottom RHS of the screen
- In the Vehicle Setting screen, press the Factory Settings panel (it's at the very end of the list at the bottom of the screen)
- In the Factory Settings screen, under Reset individual settings/data, press Vehicle, or Lights
- Press Reset tab in the window that says Reset "Vehicle/Lights" settings-are you sure?
And- if you prefer "visual instructions", see the screenshots below (apology for using older style OBD11 software screenshots- but it's the same with the current SW).
Note: in the 3rd picture - I've shown the instruction for pre-2016 cars. Again, if you have a newer vehicle, instead of search for "Turn" - search for Außenlicht (or just "enlicht")

Don, you da man mate, didn't know anything about the in car procedure to be done after, just done it during lunch and all good, it works 👍 Next one 😁 ^^^^ OK- well done, you are quickly becoming Moderator material! Let's try the TMC tweak next - I'll stick with visual instructions for simplicity. The actual change is quite straight forward like this: After this change is made it's a good idea to reset the MIB unit I assume that you have gotten this far and that you are still not able to activate the "Traffic" button. To explain what to do next - a small discussion about the way TMC works in Australia (and in many other parts of the world).
Raw data for TMC is NOT received directly through SATNAV. Real time information from road works and from road congestion is collected by a third party company (SUNA in Oz) and it's transmitted to the car via the normal FM radio signal by participating stations- once received, TMC data is combined with cadastral information from the SATNAV to form the images shown on the MIB.
Strong FM reception from the participating radio stations is why TMC only works in Capital Cities in Australia and in some large provincial cities. The mechanism that is used for FM transmission is what's called Radio Data Service (RDS) - if you are technically minded, the TMC data is carried on a sub-harmonic of the FM stereo frequency. The reason why I'm telling you this is because successful TMC operation needs RDS to be activated. So if you have made the change above and TMC still doesn't work - you should check if RDS is properly enabled on your car. To do this - try the following: - Select Information Control Unit 1 (see 1st screen above)
- Select Coding (the option above the highlighted box in the 2nd screen above)
- You should get a screen that looks like the picture below - if you see a screen with a bunch of tick boxes on the RHS and the word "Byte" on the LHS, click on the 0/1 symbol on the left-side to the "?" sign on the upper right-side of the screen
- Scroll down the screen and make sure that the 2 x highlighted entries are as shown in the screen shot below

^^^ the TMC codes that I'm aware-of are these:
65535 - TMC OFF 1024 - SUNA Traffic (Intelematics) 0 - dev options 32771 online traffic + VW TMCPro
and from previous admaps of MIB units - these:
1023 - Europe 1537 - USA

^^^^ I'm not familiar with the financial arrangements - but for in-dash SATNAV systems the agreements are between the car manufacturers and SUNA - and the list of cars that use SUNA is quite large (google it). The end user (i.e. the car owner) doesn't pay an additional charge (down here at least) - All that is required for VW/Audi vehicles down here is the correct activation code, proper RDS operation and good FM reception in the area where TMC information is transmitted.

Once again mate, thanks for your help with this, your a champ. Let's try the next one stevo: you have made excellent progress - we are definitely on a roll!!! OK - next (and last?): Lock/Unlock Acknowledgement - Instructions:
There are 2 x separate procedures for this tweak: OBD11 procedure which involves selecting/changing 6 x adaptation channels in the hex09 module & In-car procedure
OBD11 Procedure:
- Select Central Electrics module @ address Hex09
- Select Security access and enter the magic number 31347
- Select Adaptations and search for Acknowledgement signals - select this option
- Select active for Akustische Rueckmeldung entriegeln if you want an acoustic signal when car is unlocked (2 x beeps). Else leave as not active
- Select active for Akustische Rueckmeldung verriegeln if you want acoustic signal when car is locked (1 x beep). Else leave as not active
- Select active for Akustische Rueckmeldung global
- Select kurtz for Dauer der Akustischen Rueckmeldung vom Einfachhorn for a short sound, or select normal (not much difference IMO between these two settings)
- Select active for Menuesteuerung akustische Rueckmeldung (this places an ON/OFF switch for the acoustic signal function in the car menu - see "In-car Procedure")
- If the car is fitted with an anti-theft alarm siren, select not active for Akustische Rueckmeldung Signalhorn- if the native car horn is to be used for the lock/unlock acoustic signal, select active.
- Shut-down OBD11 software and remove dongle -cycle ignition key and go to "In-car Procedure".
Note: "Select active/not active/kurtz/normal" above means -select the option and then confirm the change by clicking on the green, circled-tick on the bottom of the OBD11 screen
In-car Procedure:- Press the CAR button on the escutcheon panel on the RHS of the infotainment unit
- Select SETUP on the bottom RHS of the screen (looks like a cog - but this requires a good imagination! )
- Select Opening & closing panel
- Place a tick in Acoustic confirmation box - the acoustic feedback facility can be turned ON/OFF via this switch

kamilp : I have no specific knowledge about the correct codes for each individual country - the codes that I have listed in my previous posts came from adaptation channel maps in my database, or from other sources (mostly forums).
An easy way to confirm the code is to find a car in Poland that has TMC operating - then using OBD11, read the value in the car for the TMC adaptation channel.
32768 = VW TMCPro MIB2

dv52 (Australia) so I actually came across your post while I was researching last night, I've checked the coding on the 5F unit and everything is as it should be. I left it overnight and checked it this morning but the traffic still seems to be showing a strike through the icon. I can confirm that under both FM and DAB, the RDS is enabled. I currently also have the TP enabled (with the associated icon at the top of the media display now presented - is this overkill?) but still, nothing. I've read that it can take a while before it starts pulling data down, I'd have thought overnight might have been long enough but at the risk of coming off totally ignorant, does the unit have to be actively being used for that information to come through? I've even cycled through all the settings and disabled everything again (from the unit, not via the coding) and re-activated it - perhaps that will clear everything up again. For reference, this is how I have the unit set, currently. I'll be out in the car again later today for an hour or so, perhaps that will be enough to kick it in to touch? I am of course fearful that this has been switched off in the UK altogether (I did read something to that effect a while ago) but I find that really hard to believe...
