As the DRL on the FL is bright blue , and the normal halogen lights are almost yellow warm white I played with the mod's to try to disable them only when Normal running lights are on .
All in module central electrics .
But the most result I got was wit dimming to valeu 27 , 0 was also not completely of but "27" . But this changed the setting also when DRL without Normal running lights where on ...
Somebody found the trick on the FL module ?
I tried forms and variations of the following from the MK7 , non FL variant :

I'm also interested in making this change, anyone know the correct coding to disable DRL only when Normal running lights are on? There are lots of ways of doing this, but perhaps the easiest and most convenient method is to enable/disable DRLs via the MENU screen. To do this, go to Central electrics module (@ address hex09), go to adaptation, search for Außenlicht_Front, then select Tagfahrlicht Aktivierung durch BAP oder Bedienfolge moeglich and set the value to active. You then should see a new entry in the MENU (under Vehicle setup-lights-light assistance) called "Dayime Running Lights". If you remove the tick in this box, the DRLs will be disabled entirely Don PS: a word of caution, some countries (Australia included) it's not road legal to disable DRLs if they are factory fitted to the vehicle - you will need to satisfy yourself in t his regard if you use the tweak

I have already enabled the DRLs on/off via the MENU screen, but I need to auto switch off DRLs only when normal lighting is on, do you know how? Maybe this action it could be added to DRL off with Handbrake. that I have already activated. The difference of colors between DRL (white/blue) and normal lighting (white/yellow) is evident only when normal lighting are turned on, reason why switch off the DRLs with normal lighting on could be the solution. Thanks in advance

^^^ hmm.........OK - problem is that I'm not sure what you mean by "I need to auto switch off DRLs only when normal lighting is on"
You can operate the DRLs with the rotary light switch in AUTO position only - so DRLs off with the rotary switch in the 0 position
If this is what you want then Außenlicht_Front - Tagfahrlicht nur in Schalterstellung AUTO set to active

Normal light = Low Beam -> Leuchte6ABL LC5 and Leuchte7ABL RB1 I don't have the AUTO position in my light switch, what I ask is: Light switch in 0 pos = DRLs on Light switch in 2nd pos ( symbol) = DRLs on Light switch in Low Beam pos = DRLs off

OK- that's better - I now understand - thanks. Normally I would suggest that you find the Leuchte-command Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) and replace it with Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht), but I suspect that your FL has LCMs (Light Control Modules). This means would mean that the headlight assembly operation is "hardwired" and the normal Leuchte-sets for the DRL are not active- alas.
Are any of these Leuchte-sets active?: Leuchte2SL VLB10 Leuchte3SL VRB21 Leuchte4TFL LB4 Leuchte5 TFL RB32

We only have Leuchte 2 & 3 SL aktive in our Version of the FL . And as cioce pointed out , I also do not like the clear blue DRL's on with the yellow halogen low beams .
I managed to get the DRL to blink in opposite phase with the indicator lights with this coding I found with experimenting with following coding :
Leuchte 2SL :
A2 Tagfartlicht B2 Aktiv blinken pa ..... dynamisch blinken Dimm AB 127 HDAB2 Always on C2 Blinken links aktiv (beide phasen) D2 Nebellicht links CD2 0 Dimm CD Minimize rest left standard
Leuchte 3SL :
A3 Tagfartlicht B3 Aktiv blinken pa ..... dynamisch blinken Dimm AB 127 HDAB3 Always on C3 Blinken rechts aktiv (beide phasen) D2 Nebellicht rechts CD2 0 Dimm CD Minimize rest left standard

I’ve got a ‘19 e-Golf SEL Premium with the LED headlights with the \_\_ ‘Eyelash’ LEDs that are used as DRLs on GTI and R facelift models, however on e-Golf there are dedicated DRLs where the fog lamps would go.
The eyelashes light up with the park lights as usual, and I can code the park lights to come on with the DRLs, however it’s not bright enough to work as DRLs.
Can anyone help me figure out if I can match the coding on a GTI or R and have the eyelashes activate as full brightness DRLs (preferably in addition to the bumper DRLs). I’m fine with them dimming with the headlights like an R, but I’m hoping the coding to make them work as proper DRLs is accessible. Pretty sure the headlight module is the same as the R, aside from the blue stripe.

Afaik these setting have been migrated from the central electrics to the LCMs, which are not codeable at all - maybe pushing a parameterset with VCP could work.

Vehicle in question is a Canadian spec Comfortline Golf Wagon equipped with the halogen headlights.
At the moment, as it is set from the factory, the following happens to the front lighting:
Light switch set to 0, parking brake off = DRL on at regular intensity.
Light switch set to 0, parking brake on = DRL off
Light switch set to side/parking lights, parking brake off = DRL on at regular intensity, amber side LEDs on, tail lamps come on.
Light switch set to side/parking lights, parking brake on = same as above
Light switch set to low beams (with/without parking brake on) = DRLs dimmed, amber side LEDs on, low beam headlights on.
So hear comes the question, is there a setting for when the light switch is set to side/parking lights, parking brake on to have the following effect: DRL dimmed, amber side LEDs on, tail lamps on?
When I select "DRLs OFF" in the infotainment system, I do get this desired effect, but is there any way to hard code the above?

^^^^^ hmm...........so, if I'm reading your request correctly - you want the same light-effect with the switch in the Parking light position as you now have with the switch in the low-beam position Short answer is YES -but you may need to experiment. What you need to do is to add the Leuchte-command Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) to the 2 x front Leuchte-sets for the DRLs with a Dimmwert setting to whatever illumination you want (the same as the current dimming level - I assume). Now we get into the murky area- the normal DRL Leuchte-set values are as shown below (for NAR cars with incandescent headlamps) - but they can vary. DON'T make my suggested changes (the bold blue bits) unless the un-bolded back bits are as shown below.
Give it a try and report-back your observations

Buongiorno a tutti dall'Italia! :-) I am writing you as I received my new company car: a Variant VW Golf 1.6 TDI DSG, Italian "business" configuration. Thanks to this and other forums, and also thanks to the wonderful tool that OBD11 is, I have been able to set-up many tricks which I am very happy about. Unfortunately I am having troubles with DRL: the car is in it "basicest" configuration, with halogen lfront ights and LED DRL's. I tried, unfortunately unsuccessfully, to activate some functions which might work on the left light but not on the right; they might work when the doors are open but not when they are closed. A bit of confusion let's say! I am aware I have to adjust "Leuchte2SL VLB10" for left and "Leuchte 3SL VRB" for right on Adaptations 9 but there are many changes which I would like to make: to me it is not easy to understand the way VW engeneered this but maybe somebody can help??? The features I would like to have are the follows: - ANY light TOTALLY OFF when car is not powered (or when I tun it OFF) unless I do not want to have parking lights (with indicator switch after ignition OFF) - When light selector is on 0, DRL's at 50% of its brightness - When light selector is on 1, DRL's at 100% of it brightness - When light selector is on 2, DRL's OFF and halogen lights ON - When I turn left or right, the correspondant DRL should blink with the indicator light at full brightness I do not have automatic lights, just manual. Also I have activated the manual Coming Home, which I would like to keep on FOG light and also DRL's... I was able to get almost everything but the DRL's were blinking together with the indicator light only with door opened (not very useful when you are on the highway). Am I too demanding??? - Daniele -

^^^ Danny - Hi connazionale!! Nice command of English for a native Italian - very impressive!! I'm assuming that your particular vehicle doesn't use Light Control Modules (LCMs) for the headlight.
Are you absolutely sure about "Leuchte2SL VLB10" and "Leuchte 3SL VRB10" ? Perhaps for incandescent headlight fittings the better Leutche-sets are Leuchte4TFL LB4 (left) and Leuchte5 TFL RB32 (right)?
Can you look @ Lichtfunktion A for your 2 x Leuchte-sets and for mine on your car and tell me their setting values - please Don

Ciao Don! Sei Italiano anche tu? Di dove? (both from Italy and Australia?) I have not been yet to the 'land-down-under' but I surely will in the future: my GF has been there for a few months (teaching Italian in a campus in Adelaide) and, should she have the chance, she keeps on saying she will move back immediately! I have to say I am a bit afraid to come as, for what I saw and heard, it can really be the land of opportunities.... :-) Anyway... How shoudl I know/notice if my vehicle is equipped with LCM's? So far ONLY the DRL's are LED, other lights are normal halogen (except fog-lights which are now LED, eheh). YEP: I am sure that the lights are called Leuchte2SL VLB10 and Leuchte3SL VRB 21: I will try to post below the screenshot of actual configuration I have in the car made with OBD eleven. Of course I also have and 4TFL and 5TFL (how many lights in a nowaday's car: I miss the time of my father's old Lancia Fulvia Coupè). Anyway: another question: rather than trying to figure out a setting, is there any way to know which function is which? I mean: what if I change Lichtfunktion A2? And B2? And C2? And so on... This, rather than giving me the fish, will give me the knowledge to go fishing myself... :-) - Dan - *** PICTURES *** - Partial list of lamps in the module 9 -> Applications : ibb.co/t8FqcmM - Leuchte2SL VLB10 - ibb.co/fGHtSf6 and ibb.co/9THDj4h- Leuchte3SL VRB21 - ibb.co/J2ppBBW and ibb.co/whmZ1L2

No Module 4B Multifunction module is present with halogen front lamps on Golf 7.5, only with PXA/B/C leds, but in order to have a dimming effect on the led DRLs there are two related power supply channels. Leuchte2SL VLB10 - Daylight-front left position Leuchte3SL VRB21 - Daylight - front right position Leuchte4TFL LB4 - Front left daylight power supply Leuchte5 TFL RB32 - Front right daylight power supply
given this premise, some lighting effects can only be obtained by first program the correct light function the relative power supply channel, once this has been understood, and the priorities of lighting (AB <- CD <- EF <- GH) are well understood, it's possible to do more or less everything with DRLs.
you will find a German description of the commands that can be assigned to the various Leuchte (lights).

I'm a first generation Australian, but both my parents were from San Marco in Lamis. Tell your GF that I approve of anyone who helps spread the Italian language to Aussies, I wish I was a better Italian speaker (I only speak the dialect of the Foggia province, and only as my parents knew the language back before they left Italy) - and I wish that I had better German language too because it's so helpful with VW stuff. Anyway, don't be afraid of emigrating here - sure Australia has the deadliest snakes and spiders in the world, but mostly we survive the occasional encounter - only kidding!!
So to you problem - my bad, I hadn't read your first post where you clearly say that the car has LED DRLs (I blame old age and too much red wine)
See my suggestion below - I've made the blinking function a "pace car" effect
Please tell me what happens

MMMhhh... San Marco in Lamis: right in the middle of GARGANO... Wonderful place: if you have never been yet, you should... Among the best lanscapes in Italy and, of course as almost everywhere in Italy, SUPERB food!!! :-) I live a bit Norther, close to Venice but I have been a couple of times in Puglia and I will go in September for a weeding in Monopoli (not mine, eheh): I can't wait!
Now, back to DRL's... I have applied your modifications and this is what I have:
- DRL's on at position 0 with full brightness (I guess around 100%) - DRL's on at position 1 with full brightness (I guess around 100%) In these 2 positions, when I switch on the indicator light, the correspondant DRL flashes (in phase or counter-phase with the indicator light, depends on the funztion I apply)
- In position 2 (low beam) DRL's switches OFF (which is OK so I will avoid the 'yellowish' and 'whiteish' colors together) but if I switch on the indicator light (left or right) there is NO DRL light flashing...
So pretty much OK, what still needs to be adjusted is:
- At position 0 DRL's ON but with lower brightness - At position 2 to activate DRL's ONLY with indicato lights (as in positions 1 and 2)
- Daniele -
P.S. YES: he had a Lancia Fulvia Coupè 1.2 prima serie, I guess it was 80 HP, in dark blue: it was not the super HF, Montecarlo or Safari but... What a wonderful car!!! :-)

Mmmhhh Something very strange happened... I noticed that Don edited the post later yesterday and I have noticed some changes in the positions of light functions... So I tried but still I can have NO DRL’s dimmed at 0 position and still there is no DRL’s to ‘support’ the indicator lights ehen in position 2 (low beams). Anyway now if I switch off the car I got the message to turn off the lights . I got the message only in position 1 (position lights) qnd no message if I switch off in position 2 (low beams). Strange thing is that DRL’s (for which the message should be) are totally OFF while the rear tail lights stays ON... But I never touched rear tail lights...

^ that's real odd - Let me replicate my suggested changes on my test bench (my "virtual" Golf-see below) and I'll get-back to you. As for the "message" - check your history records and make sure that the values for Lampendefektbitposition and Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC channels (for both Leuchte-sets) were not changed. The values in my table for these 2 x adaptation channels are what I have recorded as factory settings, but Italy may use different settings. If your history records shows that the previous value for these channels was different - change them back to the original values. Don

^^^ OK - my test-bench has spoken!!!!! Leuchte-programming is a fairly flexible facility - but it does have its limitations. The problem with your many wants is as follows:
- You have asked for the LEDs (let's not call them DRLs because in truth
these lamps operate as multiple light functions) to not switch-on in position 2 (i.e. low-beam) - And, you have also asked for these same LEDs to operate as a turn-signal
in position 2.
These are contradictory "wants" as far as Leuchte-programming is concerned. Basically, the Leuchte-commands for the turn-signals (i.e. the "Blinken" series commands) can't accommodate these 2 x contradictory requirements. The reason why the LEDs work as turn-signals in position 1 (which is the "Parking-light" only position) is because the LEDs are programmed to turn-on as Parking lights when the switch is in this position. So there is no Leuchte-command conflict. So- you have 2 x options: - You can choose to leave the settings as I suggested
- You can opt to modify the LEDs to operate as true Parking-lights - that is, the LEDs switch-on in both position 1 and position 2. This will mean that the LEDs will also operate as turn signals in postions 1 & 2. If you choose this option, change Lichtfunktion E on both Leuchte-sets to Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht)
Next- the apparent lighting level in position 0 If you change the Dimmert AB setting on one side of the car to 100 - it will be obvious that the illumination level is much reduce. But if you want less light - simply keep lowering this value until you are happy!
Next - "now if I switch off the car I got the message to turn off the lights . I got the message only in position 1 (position lights) qnd no message if I switch off in position 2 (low beams)"
This is normal for Golfs - it's meant to remind the driver about leaving the Parking lights switched-on when the car is locked. The same message dosen't happen when the switch is left in the low-beam position because the car automatically switches-off the lights in position 2. However, Golfs have an option for what's called "Single-Sided Parking Lights" - which happens when the switch is in position 1. So the LEDs are not automatically switched off in position 1 - hence the message asking the diver if he/she really wants the lights to remain switched-on. My suggested changes has NOT affected this warning message - it was there when the car was delivered!
Next- "the rear tail lights stays ON... But I never touched rear tail lights... "
Real odd- are you absolutely certain that you didn't change any other Leuchte-sets? Check your history records.
Don

Allora... Anzitutto... (sounds like... So... Before we start)...
I do apologize for my late feedback: I have been involved in a couple of business dinners and I had no time to check with OBD11...
Then let me please say a lot of thanks to Don and Cioce for their time... Then let me please congratulate to Don for its 'light simulator': really really impressive!!! :-O
Then, after the introduction, here is the actual situation: if I post the configuration of Don, nothing particular happens. LED stays on at 100% of their brightness at position 0 and 1 and they switch OFF in position 2 (low beam). No flashing with indicator lights, no dimming in position 0. If I change alittle bit the order and I do like this (actual configuration):
Leuchte2SL VLB10

Lampendefektbitposition 2 > 48
Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 2 > 4A

Lichtansteuerung HD AB 4 > Always
Lichtfunktion C 4 > Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv
Lichtfunktion D 4 > not active
Dimmwert CD 4 > 100
Dimming Direction CD 4 > maximize
Lichtfunktion E 4 > Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht)
Lichtfunktion F 4 > not active

As I took notes on a notepad around midnight, there should be some differences (or mistakes) in the values or maximize/minimize but I think they should be right.
Any way now what I have:
- LED OFF in position 2 -> OK - LED blinking with indicator lights in position 1 and 2 -> OK (well understood I cannot make them blink in position number 2 as I will have to keep them ON also in position 2)
What I am missing is the possibility to DIM the LED in position 0: if I change the value in the Dimmwert AB nothing happens. If I put 0, nothing happens. If I put Not active instead of daylights, nothing happens. It looks-like this position is not considered as something else is taking over (or taking care).
Then I noticed the taillights they might stay ON as they are inposition 1 and I activated the 'Scandinavian DRL' (so rear lights ON with tail lights). Strange thing was that front LED was OFF while rear tail lights (also LED) was ON... Not a big issue BTW...
But now 2 questions:
1 - How can I dimm the LED in position 0? What am I doing wrong? Should it be something related to their power-modules (Leuchte4TFL LB4 and Leuchte5 TFL RB32)? I tried to copy+paste into them the same-same values of the LED lights (Leuchte2SL VLB10 and Leuchte3SL VRB21) but nothing changed at all... So I move back to original parameters. 2- Is there any way I can switch OFF the LED lights (front and, in my case because of Scandinavian DRL's, also rear) in position 1 when I am turning OFF the car?
MILLE GRAZIE DI NUOVO!!!

Don Leuchte4TFL LB4 (left-side DRL) Lasttyp 4 > 9 - allgemeine Glühlampe 27W; auch H15 Lampendefektbitposition 4 > 48 Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 4 > 43 Lichtfunktion A 4 > Tagfahrlicht Lichtfunktion B 4 > not active Dimmwert AB 4 > 100 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 4 > Always Lichtfunktion C 4 > Blinken links aktiv (beide Phasen) Lichtfunktion D 4 > not active Dimmwert CD 4 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 4 > minimize Lichtfunktion E 4 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) Lichtfunktion F 4 > not active Dimmwert EF 4 > 31 Dimming Direction EF 4 > maximize Lichtfunktion G 4 > Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) Lichtfunktion H 4 > not active Dimmwert GH 4 > 31Dimming Direction GH 4 > maximize Leuchte5 TFL RB32 (right-side DRL) Lasttyp 5 > 9 - allgemeine Glühlampe 27W; auch H15 Lampendefektbitposition 5 > 4C Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 5 > 44 Lichtfunktion A 5 > Tagfahrlicht Lichtfunktion B 5 > not active Dimmwert AB 5 > 100 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 5 > Always Lichtfunktion C 5 > Blinken rechts aktiv (beide Phasen) Lichtfunktion D 5 > not active Dimmwert CD 5 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 5 > minimize Lichtfunktion E 5 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht; Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) Lichtfunktion F 5 > not active Dimmwert EF 5 > 31 Dimming Direction EF 5 > maximize Lichtfunktion G 5 > Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) Lichtfunktion H 5 > not active Dimmwert GH 5 > 31Dimming Direction GH 5 > maximize So I have performed this and nothing has changed in the lighting... However, after playing around with the settings I found out the following: At the moment, with the light rotary switch set at "0," when I pull the parking brake ON, the DRLs go off (as configured from factory). However, the moment I rotate the rotary switch to "Parking Lights," with the parking brake still ON, the DRLs will go to the regular driving DRL brightness. Whether the Parking Brake is ON or OFF makes no difference on my car currently. I am trying to figure out what settings to use to have the DRLs dim, when I pull the parking brake ON when the rotary switch is set to "Parking Lights."

kicker: Ok new piece of information -Scandinavian DRLs (it's kind-of important, you should have mention this 'confounder' when we started the conversation 🤦)
Scandinavian DRLs complicates everything because it also conflicts with the dimmwert AB channel setting. Why don't you try this as an alternative way forward: Go to the channel called Außenlicht_Front-Tagfahrlicht Aktivierung durch BAP oder Bedienfolge moeglich in the hex09 module and change the setting to active.
This should put an option in the MENU to switch-off the DRLs (i.e. in position 0). To use the new function do this: - Press the CAR button on the MIB escutcheon plate - then press set-up (bottom RHS of screen)
- Under Vehicle settings - select Light
- Select the new entry called Daytime Running Light (tick-on DRLs on, tick-off DRLs off)
Question 2 -No - I don't believe that it's possible to do this. You might be able to include the Single Sided Parking Light option into the LED Leuchte-sets (they are very crowded already) with an illumination level of zero, but you would need to turn-on the blinker every time that you locked the car - so why wouldn't you just turn the light switch to position 0 instead?
