- Select Central Electrics (address hex09)
- Select Security Access
- Enter the magic number 31347
- Select Adaptation
- Search Access Control 2 (it's the third entry from the top of the list) and select. Note: in newer vehicles, search for ZV Komfort
- Select comfort opening and set to active
- Select comfort closing and set to active
- Select funk komfort oeffnen and set to active
- Select funk komfort schilessen and set to active
- Select Menuesteuerung komfortbedienung einstellbar and set to adjustable (this step places a panel in the MENU screen that allows this function to be enabled/disabled)
Here's a screen shot of the process above (after the security code section)
Don
PS: If you want the facility to operate with KESSY do this:
- Search for access control 2 (as above)
- Select Kessy komfort schilessen and set to active

Feeling ripped off Shamibal: Hello. I don't know if "convenience" and "comfort" mean the same thing (folk tend to use the two terms differently on various forums- I find). But yes, make sure that convenience opening is ticked on the MENU screen. Also, you might try the window motor reset procedure if you can't get the App to work properly.
- Make sure that the windows are fully closed (i.e. in the up-position)
- Press and hold-down the down button for at least 3 seconds after the windows are fully open (i.e. in the down-position
- Press and hold down the up button for at least 3 seconds after the windows are fully closed (i.e. in the up-position)
- Repeat a few times, then try comfort/convenience opening

I would love to follow these instructions to enable windows open/close with the remote, but on my 2017 GTI when I open Adaptations for the Central Electrics control unit, "Access Control 2" is not one of the many choices. There are a bunch of choices in German which I have tried to translate, but still I don't see "Access Control" anywhere in the list.
I also bought 10 credits with the intention of using the "Windows function from remote" App, but when I select this app it tells me "Unsupported".
In case it matters, it is a US GTI Sport, 2017.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any ideas or hints.

Instead of searching for "Access Control 2" - try ZV Komfort

Don, thank you for the response. I did find the "ZV Komfort" adaptation and was able to find and set all of the selections listed at the top of this thread, with the exception of "Kessy komfort schilessen". This last one was not in the list. In any case, after setting the other selections, the Open/close Windows with remote function IS working! I don't see any new option in the car's settings menu, but the function works none the less. Thank you again for your response!

Thanks for the guide, worked great! One thing, on my mk5 the comfort close would fully close automatically without having to hold the lock button. Do you know if there's a way to code that on the mk7? thx!

Another vote of gratitude - 2017 GTI Sport.
The app function failed, but setting adaptations comfort opening, comfort closing, funk komfort oeffnen and funk komfort schilessen to active in the ZV Komfort menu worked! I also selected convenience opening in the setup menu before trying it, so I don't know if that was required.
Both Kessy and door handle contact open and close all the windows. I'm very happy.
Big thanks to all who blazed the trail!

Can confirm, I have this too for both the comfort windows and the comfort turn signal count on my 2017 SE. Was trying this through the simple apps menu and they both say "not supported". So I guess I'd have to do it manually?

Don, I have followed the instructions including using ZV Komfort to access and the above instructions to activate Kessy Komfort. Windows go up but not down. I have checked and re-checked and everything appears to be set exactly per the instructions. Is there something else that needs to be activated? Thanks, Frank

Thanks, Frank Frank: assuming the changes were made correctly, did you try resetting the "fast glass" mechanism - using the procedure I described in the third post of this thread? Don

Don, Thank you, that fixed it. Also I want to apologize for making you answer the same question twice. Dumb on my part for not reading the entire thread more carefully. Thanks again. Frank

Frankm,
Did the window reset work for you? I'm having the exact same issue. Did the window reset and still not having any luck. Windows go up but not down.
I am very new to this and I could be messing something up but i went through all the options.
I found access control 2 also set Kessy komfort schilessen / oeffnen to active.
Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance.

My fault, I also didn't read the whole post. Please disregard Frankm. I found my problem. I had to enable all windows in the infotainment unit. I didn't even see where I needed to do that. I found the info on a shopdap blog post. shopdap.com/mk7-gti-remote-windows-how-to-code-vagcom/ Hope that helps someone else.

My 2017 GTI owners manual states the following: ------- Convenience opening from inside the vehicle: Push down and hold the switch for the driver window until all windows open and the sunroof tilts. ------- This does not work on my vehicle. According the manual, this can be activated from the menu, but the option is not available. Does anyone know how to enable this?
Thanks.

I suggest that you check the setting for this channel (it should be set to adjustable - see step #10 of my instructions)

Sorry, I have a US car. All parameters have been set according to your post. Convenience opening works as expected using the key fob or door handle touch pad. The only thing missing is that item from the owners manual. Haven't seen any mention of this feature in other posts. Can anyone confirm this function in their car?

2017 Golf SE from USA here. The app didn't work for me, it sat this feature is not available. I'm not sure if I selected MK7 or MK7 FL when I setup the app with my car, or if it matters.
The instructions worked for me, I'm quite happy. Thanks to Don for the great instructions.

Are you able to open the windows by holding the Kessy door handle? I believe I did everything in the instructions. I just want to know for completeness, everything else works fine.

I followed the instructions on my 2017 GTI Sport USA model. I can now open windows via the keyless fob; yippee, and thanks! The OBDEleven app doesn't work, though. But hey, saved me some credits. They really should fix that if they wanna sell credits. Also, convenience window opening works if I hold the door handle AND have my thumb on the outside slit one touches to lock the car. BOTH have to be held. Dunno if that's changeable, but it makes sense to be. There doesn't seem to be a comparable hold-handle-to-close option. Also, a nitpick about the menus. They are "channel search for Schlüssellose Zugang-und Startberechtigung and make sure that Kessy Komfort oeffnen and Kessy Komfort schliessen are set to active" (Schlüssellose Zugang-und Startberechtigung is all ONE menu item, with the others below it).
