However, as to your specific question - the task of retrofitting a high line RVC is ostensibly a wiring problem from a physical install perspective. Here's a comparison of the electrical arrangement for the 2 x version cameras:

As is clear from my picture - the high-line camera uses the Infotainment CAN bus rather than the right-side reversing light as a turn-ON signal. It also has a connection to the rear-lid release button (unlike the Low-Line RVC).

In respect of the steps for the retrofit project from a coding perspective - another forum member has already provided an exhaustive answer:

The harness that I received included a video cable that ends with two cables with small pin connectors that I assume go into pins 6 and 12 of the blue connector located in the main connector behind my multimedia system. Then there are two other cables, the first white of the same length as the video cable, the second blue-black external to the fabric tape coating. Can any of you provide me with a graphic wiring diagram in which to understand where the other two cables should be connected in addition to the video cables. I would also like to understand if the wiring they supplied me lacks any other CANBUS cables for defining the dynamic lines on the display. I thank in advance those who want to help me, and if necessary I can provide images of the rear view camera and of the purchased wiring

So - I suggest that you look at the wiring diagrams in my post dated March 30 2023 (above). It shows wiring arrangement for the 2 x versions of Rear View Camera (RVC).

As you will see - OEM version RVCs have the following wire count:

Low-line RVC = 5 x wires
High-line RVC = 7 x wires

Your post describes 4 x wires - so I suspect that we are referring to a low-line RVC, which means NO "CANBUS" wires to worry-about!

Also, this means that the first of my wiring diagrams applies to this RVC. I suggest that the harness design assumes that the earth connection is made locally via a bolt which secures the camera housing to the car's frame.

As for the other (non-video) wires - my hunch from your description is that the white wire in the harness is designed to connect to the +ve battery rail voltage. Because this wire is "the same length as the video cable" -I'm guessing that the harness has been designed to connect this wire to the MIB's power supply cable which is pin #18 on the J quad-connector as shown below (this is a red wire):

The remaining blue/black wire is terminated on the "RVC Open" connection in my wiring diagram. This point can be accessed more conveniently on the wire that connects to the right-side reverse light. Low-line RVCs work when a +ve voltage appears on the blue/black wire (i.e. the logo gate opens when the right-side reverse light illuminates)

PS: hint - make sure that the black and white video wires are correctly terminated. The white wire is the center conductor in the video co-axial cable and the black wire is connected to the co-ax shield (this wire is connected to earth inside the MIB).

The first thing you need to determin: is it a OEM or some copy camera

The OEM part nr of the LOW camera inside the flip logo is 5Q0980121 x

The OEM part nr of the HIGH camera inside the flip logo is 5Q0980556 x
The whole flip logo with (LOW) camera should have part nr 5G0827469 x

You also can determin high from low upon the wiring:

Hi, the serial number is not relevant it's about the part number.

VAG parts are also manufactured in China and VAG does not encourage the sale of these parts to Europe.
Obviously becouse of the price difference as you see the camera purchased in Europe would cost you about 600 Euro.

I've also ordered VW parts from Aliexpress before and got them delivered in the oem VAG box turned inside out with all the VAG logo's and parts stickers on the inside.

The part nr of your camera-fod is 5GG827469 and mine is 5G0827469
The 3rd caracter G instead of a 0 apears to determin the market.

5GG827469 means also that you have a "low" camera.
This camera has no / is not a control unit and has therefore no canbus connection.
No worries, it still will provide the rear view picture on your MIB, just without the withouout the dynamic yellow lines but only the steady green lines.
Please see one of my other posts regarding these lines.
You also don't have to worry about any coding and the need for parameterization or calibration. The cabeling you got delivered with your camera is like Don already explained ok for your camera.

The high camera WITH the the dynamic yellow lines is control unit 6C (J772) and is only present in cars with PR numbers KA2 and comes only in combination with PR 8A8 and 8A9.

KA1 With rear view camera system (type 1) = (LOW) = 5Gx827469 X

KA2 With rear view camera system (type 2) = (HIGH) = 5G9827469 X

8A8 Trailer maneuvering system with park distance control in front and rear

8A9 Trailer maneuvering system with park assist

My car war equipped with only the PR KA1 (LOW type) and I retrofitted the camera only (within the flipping handle) with a high camera 5Q0980556.
The downside of such a retrofit is that a calibration of this control unit is (mostly) mandatory if the camera comes from an other type of VAG vehicle, in my case an Audi.

However the camera works fine and the dynamic lines are pretty acurate, it still gives the 6C calibration error B210000

this morning I tried to install the rear view camera following Chris's instructions, and once the wiring connections were made, using OBD eleven I tried the coding steps in sector 5F and 76 as indicated by Chris and VWjap.
Everything went well, I managed to get the splendid rear view camera to work which, as Cris had said, has very nice static guidelines.
