matt89s : Arrhhhhh......... I wish that I could speak proper Italian (my parents were both born in Italy) - but alas I can only manage a very rudimentary version of their local dialect.
So - you could try checking that Außenlicht_uebergreifend-Fahrlicht_Hinweis_mehrfach is set to not active in the central electric module
If this suggestion also doesn't work - I suspect the problem could be in the rotary light switch (LDS) - is your new LDS a proper OEM device, or did you buy it on eBay/Alibaba (i.e. is it a Chinese clone)?
More importantly- does your car have an OEM light sensor that's installed on the windshield - behind the rear-view mirror? Or is the light sensor installed on the rear of the LDS - with a cable that terminates on a small black "blob"? If so, did your Chinese light sensor come with instructions like this:

Hello dv52, I'm glad you have Italian origins:D many Australians have relatives here in Italy, I happened to know someone here on vacation.
Returning IT the switch we are talking about is exactly a clone from aliexpress and it came with that instruction sheet. This switch has an independent twilight probe, because I don't have an OEM light sensor.
However, even the second encoding you suggested did not work. I also tried to do both encodings together, and that didn't solve the problem either.
You say it's not a question of coding? Do you think that even if we deactivate the right function, it is the switch that sends that alarm signal?
I really don't know what to do, it's very annoying getting in and out of the car at night with that beep beep ... Thanks for your help, I hope you have other good ideas

matt89s : I'm not sure if "it is the [aliexpress] switch that sends that alarm signal". With the true, OEM light switch and with the true OEM rain-light-sensor, if the LDS is kept in the AUTO position and the ignition is turned-off before the driver door is opened - no alarm occurs! Of course, with non-OEM equipment it's anyone's guess how the manufacturer has designed the device to operate. I assume that you are not mistaking the warning sound, which could be an error message - or said differently, I assume there are no fault messages when you scan the car with OBD11? Only other suggestion is try different settings on the channel Außenlicht_uebergreifend-Lichtwarnungsverhalten (again in central electrics module).
You could also try disabling the Coming Home/Leaving Home function on the switch (using the instructions) - if the warning doesn't happen, at least you know which function is causing the sound!

I hope I was clear, if I turn off the switch to zero "0" before leaving the car, it doesn't produce any sound. The warning of lights on is only reproduced if the switch is left in the "auto" position. Fortunately, there are no errors in the scan. Do you have any idea what I should set on the Außenlicht_uebergreifend-Lichtwarnungsverhalten channel because I have no idea what this channel does. I tried to deactivate the C / L home function and when exiting the car it gives no error. What can we do now?

matt89s : Außenlicht_uebergreifend-Lichtwarnungsverhalten means in English "Outside light_overall- light warning behavior" and the options for this channel are:
- klemmenabhaengig = "Clamp dependent"
- klemmenunabhaegig = "Camp independent"
- wohnmobil = Camper
I think that "Clamp" in the settings above means "Terminal" - which refers to voltage types like T15, T30 and T31 - which are the voltage types that occur when the ignition is turned ON/OFF.
Try option 3 (maybe) - if this doesn't work, try the others
I'm not sure what we can do - I suspect the behavior is designed into the non- OEM equipment (so, hard-wired alas)

Guys, I have some difficulties finding the functions with these VCDS based codes... Using OBDeleven we have to find different ways for some functions... Example: Windows Up After Car is Turned Off Informed that I can't find in OBDelevenSELECT CONTROL UNIT 09
ACCESS CODE 31347
ADAPTATION (13) – ZUGANGSKONTROLLE 2 RELEASED TRAILING FH CANCEL AT TUEROEFFNEN VALUE = AKTIF OrUNIT 09 Coding-07 Long Coding Helper Desmarque o Bit 4 no Byte 4
Way that I find to solved it:UNIT 09 Security access 31347 Adaptation ZV Komfort Freigabenachlauf FH bei Tueroeffnen abbrechen Cancel release run-on FH when opening the door Default Value> Active New Value> Not active Now for the Coming Home Automatic.. 1. 9 Central Electronics 2. Security code 31347 3. 10 Adaptations 4. (1)-Comfort illumination-Coming Home Verbaustatus --> manual 5. (4)-Comfort illumination-Coming Home Leuchten --> low beam 6. (5)-Comfort illumination-Coming-home Einschaltereignis --> driver door Wicht is the correct way to find it in OBDeleven? Is there a tree to follow along and find the paths easier? Thanks in advance, Rafael dv52 (Australia)

Hello. Where can i find a list of what of each light adaptation? For example :
Leuchte27NSL RC6 - inner brake. Leuchte2SL VBL10 - right DRL. Leuchte3SL VRB21 - left DRL.
Is there a list somewhere that has all light adaptation in English?

How to code fog lights when switch in Auto?
|
|
|
Post by dv52 (Australia) on Nov 19, 2021 10:29:17 GMT
rooshevn : Thanks for the PM - but you will need to explain further. - How specifically do you want the fogs to work "when switch in AUTO" (during daylight and after dark)?
- What do you want the fogs to do for the other switch positions?
- What sort of fog lights (LED, or incandescent)?
- Which fog lights (front, or rear)?
- What model Golf, what build year and what country,

Hello Don. Ok mk7 gti with LED headlamps and xenon. The fogs are LED. I want the fogs to be off when in 0 position. I want fogs on when in Auto, during day and after dark. For low beam and high beam i want the fog to function as standard.

rooshevn : so here's the thing - the central electrics module on a mk7 Golf is a fairly sophisticated beast - but it does have its limitations!!
AFAIK, the only light function that can be selectively applied to the hex09 module so that it ONLY works when the rotary light switch is in the AUTO position is DRL.
This means that if I apply the DRL function to the front fogs (you didn't answer my question about which fog lights you wanted changed), and I enable the AUTO position restriction - ALL DRL lamps will only work in the AUTO position (in daylight conditions of course). It's not possible to have the AUTO restriction after dark.

Hello, what value should be given for each light channel to encode separately when off and on. For example, when the lights are off, the rear turn signals should come on with the taillights, only the tail lights should not turn on when the lights are turned on.

ysn : I don't understand your question, I think you are talking about Single Side Parking Lights (maybe)?
SSPL is where the turn-single lamp illuminates on the side that the driver selects via the dash stalk after locking the car. If this is correct, what country? What type of tail lights - LED, or incandescent?
Maybe ask your question again - but using different words

Hey, so I want to enable the rear (tailights) LED DRLs WITHOUT the license plate and the interior lights turning on.
I managed to do it on my previous car (Seat Leon 5F) following this tutorial:
But I'm not sure if it will work on the Golf.
Can someone guide me through this and tell me if the coding on the video will do on my new Golf? Btw the car is ROW 2013.

ryone : have you tried using the same instructions ? Don Hey Don, So I've finally got the time to test it and unfortunately it didn't work that way, but I managed to make it work, I've also discovered how to get both tail lights (interior and exterior) to light up when you brake. I've made the thread right here so everyone can also code it. forum.obdeleven.com/thread/14332/tail-lights-turning-license-plateThanks again for you help, Ryone.

HI
I recently bought a Chinese after market headlight for mk7 gti, my car has the lighting package,, the new one i got look the same but the high beam also has a halogen bubble with in the second U, everything work but when i turn the high beam on it gives me an error for (hight beam actuator, short to ground) but its not short to ground, the halogen take power from the high beam actuator and the car thinks its short to ground,,, the error gose away when i disconnect the halogen bulb but is there any solution for it??, like making the headlights high beam give no errors even if the high beam take too much power,,, please any help

hemnjimy : So, here's the thing - by definition, ALL after-market headlights are non OEM, meaning that they are not built with VW's factory standards. This also means that unless the seller of your headlights has given you precise instructions about your fault - it's anyone's guess how the high beams in your headlights operate.
Plus. you don't say how your car was built - what type of headlights were delivered with the car

Ok, he did tell me how it works, the halogen bulb take 12v directly from the high beam actuator and that's why it gives me the short to ground error, because the car thinks the actuator is short to ground due to the higher power consumption, my question is if there is away to remove or change the power limit for the high beam actuator?

How the high-beam operates on mk7s is dependent on how the car was built - meaning what type of headlight equipment was factory fitted. It's very different for the different headlight options
And again, the non OEM nature of your new fittings gives no information about how they were connected to your car's existing wiring loom. Was a cross-wiring harness used? If so, how was pin #8 (the high-beam pin number) on the car's native 10 x pin headlight plug connected to the new fittings?
Why does this matter? well it matters because how the central electrics module manages the high-beam function depends on which pin number is connected to the high-beam lamps - which as I say, varies on how the car was built

I wasn't ignoring you - I just have no idea what you want to do and your video doesn't add any value to my confusion (it simply shows the entire bank of lamps blinking on one car-side - which can't be road-legal in your country)
