HI! I am new on this forum, but not in OBD11. I have spend many hours to find the correct way to enable the CH/LH functions on my car, but no success at all. I have the possibility to set the timing of it via car menu on MIB. I have enabled everywhere where it's possible. Basically I have incandescent headlights with inbuilt DRL's. No fog's yet. No "Auto" light-switch and no LS. I'm pretty sure I should be able to get the CH/LH for the low beam by coding or adaption. If I try to add role for the low beam to work at CH/LH and tapping the green pipe in the software I got a message saying "wrong diagnostic mode selected" Does anyone have some idea what to and how to try to get it work?
Thank you in advance! I already did: - hatch pop (but I thing some spring mod is needed anyway) - chirp at lock/unlock - torque mod - needle sweep - some audible message disabling - A/C fan leds (lighting mod is an ongoing stuff)

I think ch/lh is not possible to do without auto light swicht, becuase when there is no auto switch there is also no lightsensor, and without lightsensor there would be no ch/lh because the car doesnt know when its dark.

Ok, I was thinking about it...
Aftermarket (Ali) switch with attached light sensor will do the job? I dont think so becasuse no CAN wires on it, does it?
I want to replace the stock rear view mirror with auto dimming mirror and at that point I am looking for a VW light sensor as well. In my understanding no need to replace the windshield, only needed for the camera. I have some black circle on it and it looks like there is a kind of sensor there. (Could be a dew point sensor for climatronic).
So the only way to get it work is investing into a light sensor and and a new switch, or only the light sensor will enough?
BTW I need to buy an Euro switch, for the fogs anyway.
Thanks!

Defenitly you need lightsensor/camera and switch, i dont know what also is needed may there a lot more things like wires or control unit, and i dont know if the windshield is the same ,i think they would be different.

I already did: - hatch pop (but I thing some spring mod is needed anyway) - chirp at lock/unlock - torque mod - needle sweep - some audible message disabling - A/C fan leds (lighting mod is an ongoing stuff) bigva: You certainly are correct in asserting that the LH function requires a Light sensor and AUTO switch, but this equipment should not be necessary for the CH function On a Golf mk7, CH function is embedded in what database guys call a " parent channel" (i.e. the CH function is not accessed directly, but rather it is a " Child" function of the " Parent" grouping of adaptation channels. [/p]
So, when you select Adaptations on the Central electrics control module (@ address hex 09), search for Comfort illumination and you should get the group of channels similar to those below - Coming Home is the group that I have enclosed in a yellow box:
Don
Here's a few comments that might be useful
- Coming Home Verbaustatus this channel determines whether you have to manually engage CH (with the high-beam lever), or whether the function is automatically enabled. I have never been able to get CH to work on automatic so I suggest that you start be using the manual setting
- Menuesteuerung Coming Home Werkseinstellung this channel places the CH function on the menu screen
- Menueeinstellung Cominghome this setting determines the time delay before the CH lights switch-off (this can be set in the menu also)
- Coming-home Einschaltereignis this determines which switch-on mechanism will trigger CH - if you choose "driver door", then CH will be energized when you open the driver's door (not surprisingly)
- Coming Home Leuchten this setting determines which lights will be used - choice is "low beam" or "fog" (or "not active")
Switch-on procedure for CH
- Make sure that CH is enabled on the MENU
- Switch-off the ignition
- Pull-forward the high-beam stalk momentarily (for about 1 second)
- If you set-up the trigger channel as "driver door", then the lights that you selected will come-on when the driver's door is opened
- The time-delay (i.e. 10 seconds in my screenshot) starts to count-down when the last door is closed on the car (inc. the hatch)

Thank you!
As I told all the settings are done. No success. Even tried to adding roles for each bulbs in the headlight but code is not accepted. What i get is only a wrong diagnostic mode message.
I'll get back here...

Don, my friend!! Thanks for always helping! What I'm referring to is that in OBDeleven I don't know if there was an update but it's hard to find some things mainly because of my poor knowledge of German.. I put the system in English but most things are still in German... Sub items are not shown in searches in the root of adaptations.. For me now to find this CH/LH feature, I had to dig through the whole root of adaptations... The sequence was: >Unit 09 >Aussenlicht uebergreifend (Crossing outside light) Only in German >Coming Home Verbaustatus Changed to automatic (works perfectly) Some things are more practical to find in VCDS follow photos.... Don
When I bought OBDeleven I thought about how easy it is to do things with cell phone... I'm currently using a MacBook and to use VCDS I need to run a Windows VM which drains the battery... because of this I stoped to use VCDS I believe that OBDeleven could improve the translation or maybe make the search for words in the root…
Maybe you have more influence in asking this to OBD...
Thank you!!!

rafaelsgon : haha...... you incorrectly assume that I have influence with OBD11 admin. I do not!!
I'm just a private user of OBD11 (and VCDS and occasionally, VCP and ODIS). So, I'm very much the same as you and I like to keep it that way because I remain independent and I'm free to express my views.
