I’m looking at doing a MIB1 to MIB2 retrofit through EZTuning. To prep myself beforehand I asked for some instructions and want to see what coding I had to do to get my MIB1 Fender Amp to work with a new headunit. Now I can’t find this control module in my 2015 GTI. All I see is multimedia and thats it. I was wondering if someone would be able to give me a step by step on how to code the new headunit for the MIB1 AMP using OBDEleven.

I’m assuming this is when I go to control modules and click the pencil icon (Edit button) and select Gateway 19 and then select 47 Sound System and code it in? Because I see it there its just not coded in as a control module and thats why its not showing up?

I'm only asking this question because the instructions say, "If you are unable to go into 47 - Sound System, temporarily install your old MIB1 Brain Unit and perform this programming. Then reinstall the MIB2 Brain Unit."
So if I can do this programming before hand I think it would make my life a lot easier, but I'm just confused as to why they would state this when its not even a control module that is already there unless its already coded through
the gateway.

theories: Your scan report is fairly conclusive - your hex5F module appears to use it's own internal amplifier. Why do you believe that your MIB1 has a fender amp - or any sort of external amplifier?

But, what I do know from your scan report is that there is no hex47 module. Now, if an external amplifier was factory installed in your car (or more precisely, if an external amplifier was present in the car when the scan was made), one of 2 x events would have occurred:

If the external amplifier was correctly configured on the CAN network, an entry would have been created for the hex47 module
If the external amplifier was installed, but not correctly configured on the CAN network, an error message would have appeared at the location hex47 saying something like "cannot be reached"

You scan has neither of these option - which strongly suggests (to me at least) no external amplifier is connected to the CAN network

Does your car have a sub-woofer in the wheel well?

Does your car have a module under the driver seat as shown below (J525=external amp)?

I do have a fender subwoofer in the wheel well in the trunk. I do seem to have this amp that you have stated as I see the subwoofer wiring going to it.

hmm...... something odd!! Black in module list means that hex47 can't be reached, but clearly the Gateway module could reach the module to extract the hex47 module details for the scan result!

With the module ticked - can you access the module directly by selecting 47 in the module list?

Also, please post-up the complete long code for the hex5F module and the hex47 module (if possible)

It told me the bytes and the brand of the amp which was fender. Ill send both tomorrow.
