i,
I have a Golf MK7 FL with Climatronic and I have to set the temperature dial to 18.0 in order to get 21 degrees in my cabin (I used an external thermometer), which is not what I am expecting (e.g. icy 18 degrees). I am checking with OBD11--> control unit 08 air conditioning --> Live Data --> Select Outside air temperature, Left/right front vent temperature, footwell vent temperature, temperature after evaporator, interior temperature, here it is a short video of OBD11 and I noticed:
- The temperature after evaporator is good, it drops to 0.7 degrees Celsius, which makes me think that the refrigerant, the compressor and the piping are ok
- The left/right front vent temperatures do not fall ever below 8 degrees, I checked also this with both an infrared thermometer and a probe thermometer (the temperatures are a little bit higher around 10 degrees)
- The interior temperature gets around 21.8 degrees C (after half an hour) so actually it never gets close to the set 18 degrees :-(
In my previous car the air temperature coming outside the vents was around 4-5.5 degrees and this makes me wonder if my aircon is partial faulty (it seems that the control unit does not push cold air from evaporator to the vents for some reason)...I would be grateful if someone could check their left/right front vent temperatures in OBD11 and post it's values here just to understand if aircon is faulty or not. Just a final note: I replaced my cabin air filter last week in order to be sure it was not its fault.
Thank to everyone for their help.
p.s. I live in Italy, at an altitude of 250m, at midday there are about 33 degrees now in August.
