waledsa : Not sure I understand, why don't you just change Byte0 on the Engine control module back to hex 01 (the audi setting is hex02)? Don

i tried to change Byte0 with hex09 to hex02 on the Engine control module long coding at first didn't work, then i tried one click app feature worked well and i get a new hex0A instead of hex02, but an error message 03-brake fault came up, i don't now if these error is about the change i do or its just another changed or coding need to be done (cruise control maybe)

waledsa : hmm........ lets talk about hexadecimal/binary number systems and the purpose of the software switches in Byte 0 of the Engine Control module (ECU). If you have set Byte 0 to the value hexA0, it means that the binary number equivalent (i.e. the Bits)= 1010 0000. Remembering that Bits in a binary number are read from right-to-left (so Bit 0 is the right-most digit and Bit 7 is the left-most digit), this means that the value of Bits 0-2 is hex00 (i.e. xxxx x000) which means that you have set the car type to Manufacturer: not specified. The normal value for VW in Bits 0-2 is hex01 ,or 0001 for Byte 0.
If you changed the value of Byte 0 originally manually (and even if you used an APP), I suggest that you look in the HISTORY records for the "old value" - then revert the setting back to this value
