Not an OBD11 Issue but saw this today on a German Golf site
Update: Since the update from 1664 to 1668 I had the problem that the G8 was no longer online (globe gray).
The remedy here was to disconnect the battery (negative cable).
Although it odd as some people are talking about version 1788 (and the same applies to the Skoda cars as well) and this is showing bug fixes good - more bugs introduced not good.

I already have sw 1788, but the issue is not sw related. Some units need sfd token to be coded, but vw also changed security access code.

gio sorry the sw version was for other users who are having issues with the car (non OBD11 Issues) bugs and a/w fix's from VW (And I see that a lot on VW, SEAT, Skoda forums). With regards to your issue first just to double check you are coding with bonnet open and parking brake on. In regards to securiy codes we know that 20103 works on some changes but its not clear if this is a OBD11 Bug (asking for a security code) misinterpreting feedback from Control unit when its actually asking for SFD Data. Or is there a code required. If its a code required then have you tried (and i do not expect it to work) running the OBD11 Security code finder.

Does anyone know how to unlock the door lock option in the menu (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8MO_tXQe-E). A colleague of mine has the new MK8 and cant disable it and wants to disable it. Any pointers to where this could be in the MK8 would be appreciated.

@vicros: Hi. Mine is just a guess and certainly try @testeronline suggestion first - but if you want to disable the Menu-display in the MIB perhaps this: hex5F-Information Electr Vehicle menu operationmenu_display_central_locking > not activated (activated) menu_display_central_locking_over_threshold_high > not activated (activated)

I think that 5F is not freely available on mk8. Each adaptations need a security code and each known code reports "error code (11) Function not available". I think you need a sfd token to change anything.. |

Another of the SFD Impacts, I am certainly aware that some users have been able to use the code finder.
I am guessing that a fully locked down control unit does not allow it.
Thanks for the feeback, in terms of OBD11 we just have to wait for there updated interface.

casanova could we ask for you to share a full backup of your car (removing the VIN number of course) as it would help people to see the differences between different models of Golf 8 With regards to your question this was kindly shared this with me the other day

Infotainment module 5F is SFD protected and also 09-17-19 modules are locked NOT with a simple 5-digit code, so coding is not possible for the moment.

cioce I fully agree that this is a list of control units that are SUPPOSED to be locked down but I can assure you that 17 is currently allowing coding on both the Golf and the Leon early addition cars. I have also been told that some owners have been able to code 5F with the provided coding but don't have any proof of that on this Forum. As I mention here obdeleven.proboards.com/post/52204 there is some feedback that some cars have stronger SFD protection than others. So I put out the coding and hope somebody can confirm if it works or not.

I have tried to make the changes but in the extended coding I get a failure or in adaptations it says "writing" and there is no advances. It may have something to do with the SFD, how can I solve it?

Hi Casanova you cant code the 5F infotainment system because it is fully SFD protected ad the 09 Central Electric.

reno070 : In theory at least, the answer is that once the instruction is given by the diagnostic device, the message is managed by the module that OBD11 calls "Gateway" (@ address hex19).
You can think of the hex19 module like the "Fat Controller" of Tomas-The-Tank-Engine fame in that it's job is to direct traffic on the CAN network. There are multiple other modules installed on the car that want to communicate on the CAN network at the same time.The hex19 module decides which of the other modules should be prioritized to speak. But the speed of communications is generally very fast.

Hello, Just a question abouit using ondeleven Pro with VW Golf 8. i read about sfd, but can I still make changes to 09 or other adaptation channels like I could with a golf 7 facelift. There are many tweaks on a golf 7 and facelift some channels are the same you can adjust this so it works?  or obdelevenpro like vcds hex v2 cable will stop working for the new cars like Golf 8. Maybe a tip for the developers the current obdeleven pro software doesn't show some modules or not yet. Like 05, 4B, D6, D7 Golf 8 Do you have the adaption for video in motion for the mk8 GTI |

Well - right now at day 0 there is nothing. SFD unlocking was able to a very limited group until now.
We can start all over as we did 9 years ago when MQB was released.
And as we did at that time, it is trial and error from people spending hours, in finding out things, getting it work and so on.
A good approach would be to verify things from the old MQB platform and see if they still work. Many won't, just to lower your expectations.
Please be patient, try things together with the community and give feedback.

Hello! I have a question that I have not been able to find an answer to yet. Why is it that when I activate the View 8 design with a large tachometer in the middle, the time and external temperature are not displayed? Also, the background in the small side circles does not change. This is in regards to the electronic instrument cluster design in Volkswagen Golf 8. I activate this design by changing the adaptations in the OBDeleven application. Thank you for your help! Hi Massimo I also managed to activate the GT1 graphics with view 8, with view 9 graphics R was not activated the modification was enabled with the hood open
I tried on Configuration of displayable contents to activate the display of engine power and torque but it asks for a code, I tried 47115 but it doesn't work
