Hi, Can someone tell me how it would be possible the code the car in a way that the fog lights would stay ON when high beams are activated? Thanks! nicvail: I wrote-up a set of instructions for this tweak in VCDS language HERE. Let me know if you need it translated to OBD11 speak. Don

It's all German on my old11. What's right high beam and left high beam in German? ^^^ I'm sure that Rene is correct (my German language skills are terrible) from a German language perspective, but the leuchte programming commands in the modules are: Left high beam = Fernlicht links Right high beam = Fernlicht rechts Very close to Rene's suggestion - not sure if the difference is meaningful in German! OBD11 Tweak - Fog Lights operated with High Beam Lights
Option 1: fog-lights are turned-on with high-beam lights when the left-hand stalk behind the steering wheel is pushed towards the windscreen (and the rotary light switch is in "Auto", or "On" position)- i.e. the normal high-beam switch on/off process
Option 2: fog-lights are "flashed" together with high-beam lights when the left-hand stalk behind the steering wheel is momentarily pulled towards the driver .
Instructions: - Select Central electrics module @ address hex09
- Select Security access
- Enter the magic number 31347
- Select Adaptations
- Search for Leuchte12NL LB45 (Left front fog-light) and select
- For Option1, or Option 2, or both - change the settings for the adaptation channels in the 1st screen shot below
- Search for Leuchte13NL RB5 (Right front fog-light) and select
- For Option1, or Option 2, or both - change the settings for the adaptation channels in the 2nd screen shot below

This looks great but my problem is that security code doesn't work, it's saying, "(35) Access authorization failed. Incorrect login code" So 31347 doesn't work for me I guess? I'm using OBDeleven pro

I'm using OBDeleven pro Kody: The magic number 31347 DOES work on the Central electrics module on your car -what's happened, I suspect is that you have miss-entered a wrong security code as a previous attempt. Control modules lock-out when this occurs and you have to wait a period of time before entering the correct code . Please note that the wait time is measured by the tme that the ignition is turned-on - its usually 10-20 minutes Dpn

I haven't ever entered the wrong code, everyone keeps saying that code works but I've never got it to work. Am I doing something wrong? I'm willing to try anything. I haven't messed with any settings and have only owned this OBDeleven for two days now.

Kody: Given that this forum is about the Golf mk7, I had assumed that your Jetta 2005 shared the same build platform - that is, your car was MQB based (otherwise, why would you be posting here). However, I'm no so sure that this is the case. It appears from my cursory reading, that the fifth generation Jetta has its own CAN network. This is why I suspect that 31347 doesn't work on your car - because the module has an entirely different design. I know that 12233 was a valid security number for some Jettas, but I'm not sure that it fits your car - give it a try! Don

Hi,
Is there a way for the corning lights be made to come on instead of the fog lights with the high beams?

The above instructions provided by guru Don worked. My Alltrack now has fog lights with high beams. The only odd thing I noticed is that when LB or HB is on the other (HB or LB) is on, but dimly. Is there any way to shut the beams not being used off or is this necessary for the fog lights to work with both LB and HB? Just curious.

Hi, Can anyone help, I can change both option 1 and 2 no problem and it’s accepted but when I try to change the third setting ( Dimmwert CD 12 ) to 100 , mine is currently 0, the app just shuts down completely and I have to log back in and reconnect to the car. Has anyone seen this before ?.
Cheers, Paul.

Tried this with my Audi SQ5 and security code 31347 does not work. Has anyone got the seccurity code for the Audi SQ5 ? Or has anyone got the LONG CODING to enable option 2 above ( foglight flash with high beam and not on all the time ). Thank you.

^^^ jacko: Hi. Your Audi SQ5 has a MLB build platform - so it's not like the Golf mk7 (or the Audi A3) which as a MQB build platform. Not sure if my tweak instructions work - I suspect not!!
Perhaps ask your question on the Audi forum

I would real appreciate any help. I followed your screen shots and instructions to use fog lights with main beam. I belive I've done something wrong as I can't switch the main beam on by the stalk. Is there anyone able to send me the old setting to put it back how it was. Iam passed myself. I used OBDELEVEN.. Please help me.. Thanks. Colin

colin: Hi- bummer!! Have a look in your history records and check each change made against my instructions. The records in the history file identifies the "old value" if you want to revert to the old setting

Hi thanks for the guide. I tried it and only option 1 works for my 2020 Karoq. When I pull the stalk towards me it doesn’t flash the high beam only when pushed toward the windscreen it does. Any guess as to why?

jcp01 : hmm.......... very difficult to believe that the option 2 Leuchte-command doesn't work when the option 1 command does work!! Please post-up the complete Leuchte-set for one side of the car (meaning ALL 19 x channels). You can do this via screenshots or you can manually write the values in another post Don

Hey everyone,
Just to clarify the nicely detailed instructions shown. What I'm hoping to achieve is to have my fogs stay on when they're already on (night time driving) and when I activate my high beams I would like them to remain on.
I am not trying to have the fogs and high beams come on with the stalk.
Please let me know if perhaps I'm misreading the information or if what I'm asking is even possible.
Thank you all.
