I once coded my VW Golf MK7 Highline to turn both Fog lights on at the same time when i indicate either side but in my quest to activate Fog Lights flash to pass i have lost this function. I dont recall how i even activated it in the first place as it was done almost a year ago. Could someone help how i can bring it back?
BTW i don't like the whole one fog light turning on i would rather they both come on. I already have AFS working using the halogen side facing bulb. Just need to add the Fog lights now.
Thanks

You should check Leuchte 12 and 13. 12 is left, 13 is right. Both at the same time? Just take any Lichtfunktion of them and add "Abbiegelicht links" and "Abbiegelicht rechts". Check for the responding Dimmwert and Direction. So if you add Lichtfunktion E and F, you should also set the Dimmwert EF to 100. For Foglights, all dimming directions should be maximize

Thanks Newty but i already tried this all i get is normal Cornering Lights - as in the light on the side the steering is turning towards or the turn indicator is flashing comes on. I basically want to achieve this:
Fog Lights On with Indicator
Fog lights will turn on when indicating. Fog lights must be fitted.
Select Control unit 09 (Central Electrics)
Security access
Access Code 31347
Adaptation
(2)-Static AFS Light Vorschrift
Value = FMVSS 517 108
But when i try the above on my car nothing happens - either side fog light still comes on when indicating or turning. Unless i got it wrong this doesn't do what i am expecting as well.
Thanks

What happens if you select either ECE R48, or ECE R119 for AFS light-Vorschrift?

I haven't tried ECE R48. I will try that tonight and observe. But with ECE R119 i get cornering lights with the H7's within the main headlamps and the H11s together with either the blinker or steering angle.
But last night i had a thought what is i did for example within the Left Side Fog Light:
ENG116948-ENG116103-Leuchte12NL LB45-Lichtfunktion A 12 >>>> Set to Abbiegelicht Links ENG116948-ENG116104-Leuchte12NL LB45-Lichtfunktion B 12 >>>> Set to Abbiegelicht Rechts
Wouldn't the above give me what am looking for? The fog light is being commanded to come on with the car turning either direction. This is just theory i didn't get the time to try though.

paul: Yes, the general concept should work, but I suspect that Leuchte12NL LB45-Lichtfunktion A 12 already has the setting Nebellicht links. This is the fog light command which you probably want to remain!
Perhaps leave Leuchte12NL LB45-Lichtfunktion B 12 set to "not active" and do this:
Leuchte12NL LB45 & Leuchte13NL Lichtfunktion C > Abbiegelicht Links Lichtfunktion D > Abbiegelicht Rechts Dimmwert CD 12 > 100 Dimming Direction CD 12 > maximize
Don PS: if you have LED lights, change "100" to "127"

Good morning I have a 2016 Golf 7 TGI I wanted to activate the right rear fog light I have followed your instructions but I cannot activate it You can send the screen shots of the encoding screen in order to check all the settings Both of Leuchte 12NL LB45 and Leuchte 13NL RB5? thanks a lot

giopat62: wrong Leuchte-sets; Leuchte 12NL LB45 and Leuchte 13NL RB5? control the front fogs. So tell me what physical equipment you have installed for the rear fogs? Don

giopat62: Do you have LED, or Halogen fog lights on the front. What country are you from? And NO, the second right rear fog light on a mk 7 is normally just a blank. It usually doesn't have a lamp base, or a wire connected Don

giopat62 : it really depends on how Leuchte12NL LB45 and Leuchte13NL RB5 are coded. my fog lights turned on the right if I turned right and turned on the left if I turned left The behavior that you describe above is normal when the front fog lights are also used as "Static Cornering Lights".
If you want to remove the "Static Cornering Lights" function from the fog-lights, do this: - search the Lichtfunktion channels in Leuchte13NL RB5 for the Leuchte-command Abbiegelicht rechts and change to not active.
- Then search Lichtfunktion channels in Leuchte12NL LB45 for Abbiegelicht links and change to not active

I try to explain myself better, Having made confusion between fog lights and rear fog lights I did the coding in the fog lights thinking they were the rear fog lights So doing I changed the coding of the fog lights by mistake I wanted to bring the coding of the fog lights as it came out of the vw dealership So I was wondering if you had the OBDELEVEN screen with all the original parameters so that they can be copied

giopat62 : OK, now I understand- thanks The original values for the front fog-lights can be found in the History part of OBD11 software. Its one of the options under the control module screen. If you can't find the data, here is the factory settings for Halogen front fog-lights (with Static Cornering lights),

Please share a full code on how to activate fog light with indicators
Examples. When indicating left, fog should also indicate if switched on

mahlonza : This thread is NOT about making the front fog lights blink with the turn signals - it's about what's called "static AFS", or cornering lights - which means that the front fog is turned-on (steady state) on the side that the turn signal is activated if the car speed is traveling less than 50 km/hr. I guess that code can be written to make the front fog blink with the turn-signal - but NOT conditional on the fog being turned-on (i.e. the fog lamp would blink regardless) Don
