Description of bug:
1/ Using my pro account when I look at settings in Android it shows me my email address under Data sharing, when I log in on same account and go to Settings on IOS the data sharing field is blank - has been raised before but this is a bug as account data should be copied across.
Same is true for Units when I change it on Android or IOS it is not copied across to the other device thus the output shows differences for example MPH vs KPH - Correction its not a real time update you have to close the app down and restart it then it picks up the Units data.
2/ Under settings you only have one Language order on IOS on Android you have one for Application and One for Database, I personally use different languages between the two when working with overseas forums.
3/ I did a single backup of control unit 09 and as previously raised there are differences in the data about.
Numbers overall are the same - so that's an improvement
There are differences in the view if the settings are set differently (and as they are not copied across this can be confusing)
But I also have to real differences
Under Access control 2
FH SAD KL15 AUS FREIGABEZEIT on android it shows 600s on IOS it shows 1968.5 ft/s2
Minor difference under light configuration the BAP Bitposition 1 has 3e on Android but 3E on IOS there are lots of these where you can see the letter in lower case vs uppercase if this value is taken from the car I would expect both outputs to be the same.
There will be more but I will update them once I have extracted files from both devices.
Format is different - see the attached excel spreadsheet (IOS VS Android.xls at the bottom of this post) and IOS has a blank line between each Adaptition but Android does not (seems a waste of space to me)
IOS shows Vehicle millage as Miles but the Android shows KM both show attribute values in KM.
Android has ODX name and version but the IOS does not
Field Names on Adroid are all followed by : but not on IOS
Under Dyn. turn signal modes there are field names that have underscores between each word but just spaces on IOS eg UGDO_ Anlern_Blinken: vs UGDO Anlern Blinken
Under AUTOSAR Standard application software identification: / Standard software module: android shows BAP but IOS Has nothing same for the UDS Protocol version and Diagnostics - Event - Handler version and ISO15765-2 in fact all the Standard software module: lines.
Control Unit 01 Engine there is a difference we have seen before in that ASAM/ODX file identification value in Android is including an underscore but the IOS Version does not.
4/ Already Reported way back when, when you are looking via IOS offline it shows Control Unit 56 - this is part of 5F and should never be shown on my car and also Control Unit 33 - OBD11 This is the control unit used for non VAG Cars to enable viewing of errors and data logging so again should never be shown on my VAG Cars.
5/ Control unit A9 (And I am sure it applies to them all) when I am offline I selected Reset, I then am able to select Hard, Key Off or Soft reset and the Reset button is then enabled. At this point it tells me I am not connected. The system should know this already and not offer me the variations.
6/ Control Unit A9 vOLUME OF STRUCTURE BORNE NOISE ACTUATOR - This on my car is always zero as my exhaust gives you the real noise you want to hear, however for testing offline I was able to edit the current value of 0, the box shows 0 - 255 that should be 0 - 100, The Keyboard when you open this item is text but the only input is numbers so should be numbers. Lastly I selected 100 and the screen now shows 100 although to be fair there is no swipe to save at the bottom, if this is offline then it should not do this just show you whats there in my opinion
7/ Control unit 17 offline, I was checking the data on the long coding screen and touched some of the options and changed things, as above there is no swipe to save but when I try and change to the next view of data i get the message Discard changes, there are changes in current option, if you want to change to another option you must to discard the current changes. either Cancel or Discard.
I am offline so in Android I can look but cant change anything this should be the same on IOS Please otherwise you start to think you might be making changes.
8/ In IOS you show all the VW Shortcut names and they are fine, You also show all the Bits / Bytes which is also fine. You also show the user defined fields but there is no link to the Byte / Bit it has been applied to (which I do not like), Further when I look at control unit 17 Long Coding Byte 00 Bit 0 the first user defined field is called Clocks lit during daytime - this is not shown on IOS
Second user update on Byte 00 bit 1 on Android it shows Needle illumination (with terminal 15 on and terminal 58 off) but in IOS it shows Scale illumination etc so its different
On Bit 5 it shows on Android Right hand drive on IOS Right-Hand-Drive (RHD), when I go look in Android I can see both names shown but the display option is different between the two devices.
9/ As you dont have a list of things that will be delivered next I would point out that currently I can see no way to manually add descriptions to Byte/ Bit, nor can I see how to look at other languages for the user descriptions (which is very easy in Android)
10/ Extract name from history for Backup and Full Backup in Android is called History.txt on IOS its called OBDeleven_Log.txt can you please employ a standards person to keep all output and names the same.
11/ It is not possible to email a single control unit backup file using the date filter method on Android so currently its not possible in IOS to email single backup file
12/ If you change the picture of you car in IOS Firstly there is not Revert function like it Android, secondly when I take a picture it works fine in IOS But the picture size is larger than supported in Android and this causes the Android app to crash and not work.
13/ when you are offline and press the apps option on the menu you get warning You need to connect to the vehicle first yet if i do the apps in the Garage it works fine
14/ Under Other Settings you have Theme and a Change button, try and use it and get error saying under dev, please remove the change button till it works.
15/ Supported vehicle for the new Cupra range is not correct, issue has been raised before but still wrong.
16/ I updated the data sharing email address (as in put one in there) but when I went to email full backup no email address was populated using Apple Mail app on a Google account.
17/ Filter for history does not have a clear all function for when you only want to select one item and have to untick all the boxes
18/ Faulty CU Items are shown in History by default but are hidden by default on Android, this was agreed because it can just fill up your history file and not add any value, if they are hidden you can find them if required but not shown all the time.
19/ Fault clears are not showing in History - same issue on Android it was fixed now gone again
20/ Lookup function does not allow you to add your full list of codes that are on the car like it does in Android.
21/ Offline and looking at a full backup, For some reason the code thinks its ok for me to make changes and save them (it wont work but this option should not be shown)
22/ Full backup on Android creates a single file with all control units but also adds a single backup on each control unit, in IOS you only get the full backup not the single updates.
23/ Select a full backup, Select a control unit and Select the Live Data, Using the Filter (top right of the screen) all Live data elements are ticked (correctly) but the bar at the bottom it shows Select all (this is an error as it should show Clear All), If you press that it deselects all items (so now none of them are ticked), But the bar still shows Select ALL. Press it again and all items are now ticked (correctly) and the bar now shows narrative Clear all.
24/ Again as you no longer show what is outstanding I would point out that in the history files there is no Archive feature which there is in Android and very useful to keep history file usable.
25/ Single Control Unit backup on Android you have the ability to enter security code so that extract will show extract attributes according to the security feature you have enabled, In IOS this is not possible.
26/ Cant see how you access user manuals - these are available on your web site as a function and i can from Android access and or create them.
27/ Select a Language function, this list of Languages is in no particular order, the Android list is in Alphabetical order which does make it easier to find, Further the total number of languages on Android and IOS Differ (android is missing one) but also the descriptions of the languages are different for example IOS Has Romana but Android shows Romanian can we please use the same descriptions (IOS Has a flag and shows correct signage for the language so in my personal view this should be the one used.
28/ Full backup live data count differences. Did a full backup and checked control unit 03
backup shows 51 rows but when you look at live data there are 54
missing 3 were Analysis 104, 105 and Prevented stop processes (ring memory)
29/ This made me laugh trying to report a bug via the help function (and its a real pain to get to talk to somebody)
I typed in Bug Report and got the usual lets see if these help bottom of the list was Applicatoin usage for ANDROID - Even though I am talking to you via and IOS Phone.........
I would stress that because the settings are not copied across between IOS and Android some of the differences by be in the Units changes.
Not a bug but a complaint about keeping IOS and Android in line. Friday new release 0.28.0 on android has a great feature to alert new Audi users that the bonet must be open in order to do any coding.
I have just confirmed with support this is not on the IOS Release. My personal view is that stuff like this should be released on both apps at the same time.
Another difference between Android and IOS, On IOS the Reset function is shown when offline but on Android it is only shown when connected to the car.
