I was wondering if there was a way to maintain the white color of the mode button when either Comfort, Sport, or Individual is selected. When either of those three are selected the button changes color to amber instead of white like it is when in Normal. It would be nice to have it stay white in any of the 4 modes available. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks guys

I haven't tried this tweak, but I understand that the way to inhibit the MODE light from turning yellow is to place a tick in Byte 15 , Bit 7 of the BCM, or what OBD11 calls Central electrics (@address hex09). I don't have a screen shot from OBD11, but here is the long coding helper screen from VCDS showing the Byte. If you try this untested tweak - please provide feedback for the community here Don

Your post above? Bit cryptic, any chance of explaining what stg means? You obviously know what you're talking about as you're a mod but spare a thought for those of us that aren't.

Anyway, in the hope that I'm not stealing Daniel's thunder by my reply, the more "user friendly" way of disabling the LED colour change in the Drive mode button is via the textual component of the long coding screen - as shown by the visual instructions below.

Hey, anyone struggling with the new menu structure in the 2017 GTIs? I found the entries for us.
Central Electronics Adaptation "Button In Center Console" "Zusatzcodierung Fahrprofiltaster hat keine LED" - Change to "LED not installed"
I've been a lurker here for a while, so hopefully this can help someone out there.
