hi quick question do i have to buy the obd eleven for using long coding? or i can buy something cheaper for my passat and using long coding?
also if that is a specific device for the coding or every obd device
work as well?

If you want long coding then its OBD11, carlyapp, VCDS or VCP and there may be others
There are other options like caristaapp but you dont do the coding directly you are limited to what the devs have built.
With regards to OBD11 The dongle is the only one you can use with the app and it does not talk with any other application.
If you want to code then you have to have the Pro Licence.
