Soon there will be a Kickstarter for a product that should achieve this.

Why do we need a kickstarter for something like this? It already exist in iPhone and carplay. Do you have the link or name of the Kickstarter campaign?

Not possible, the access point firmware in the Audi was coded solely for Apple... You can't occupy two firmwares on one PCB without creating a lot of confusions unless Google and Apple had worked together to create a unify firmware that could compensate for both programs, unfortunately because they haven't, only one firmware can occupy the device. If there were two access points in the vehicle then you could do both. That's what the dongle from indiegogo that I bought is, it's just like the receiver in the vehicle except it's been written open-endedly to accept connection request from Android Auto. New cars have started putting two access points in the vehicles now. One for Android and carplays but they really just show as one, one doesn't broadcast but when you try to connect either carplay or AA wirelessly, it connects through whichever of the two was programmed for it.
