As the title says, I decided to retrofit the bixenon to my mk7 golf. I'm procuring the parts and I "wrongly" (I wanted the newest toy available...) bought a facelift highline BCM (5Q0937084DD). Can this be adapted to handle bi-xenons and support module 55 (AFS)? For reference this BCM manages everything through adaptations. Is it possible or should I procure a pre-facelift highline BCM?
If so can any golf owner post the admap if the BCM is 5Q0937084 CG/CQ/DD/DH? I will share the excel sheet that I'm building to help future attempts

^^^^ fvolanti: Hi I have no idea about your ambition to install a mk7.5 BCM into a mk7 (it sounds "courageous" to me), but here you go -an admap for a 5Q0-937-084 CG in the link below

Thank you a lot. It's the first I found from a Golf. My current BCM is one the latest of the pre-facelift and I already retrofitted a highline facelift gateway so there shouldn't be major communication incompatibilities, I hope. The coding by itself seems reasonable enough and I found most adaptations stayed the same, just changed channel. My main question and what I'm going to find out is: does the facelift BCM have the parameters for bi-xenon and AFS/module 55 since they switched to 4B and led.

fvolanti: So, since you have already swapped your gateway module, I assume that you are aware of Component Protection - the same problem will occur when you retrofit the new hex09 module
I don't have access to ETKA - so I can't answer your question (but, I suspect that the module does accommodate a hex55 module). I suggest that you go to a dealer spare parts store and ask them (you don't need to buy the module from the dealer, just get the information about the module).

How do I find out from ETKA if it the BCM can accomodate the hex55 module for sure? I found that the BCM 5Q0937084CG is deployed on the skoda superb from 5/16 to 11/16 at the same time as module 55 - 7P6907537D (03/'15 to 11/'16) and this BCM supports variable light distribution with cornering light, so I'm assuming that there's a way, but there's such info on the Golf page.
I'm aware of component protection and I already triggered it by test-running the new BCM, it now refuses all changes so I'm no longer able to play with it and test the adaptatons. I'm 400km from my spare key otherwise I'd officially start the retrofit, but I don't want to adapt the immobilizer with just one key fob.
Going further with the planning. The AFS slave modules should be 3D0941329 D according to the official catalog diagrams, but that's hard to find. Can it be replaced by the E variant that seems to have the same HW and SW?

^^^ as i said, I suspect that the module does support a hex55 module - the car that I took the admap has modern Light Control Modules and the "H" in admap title "Component:BCM MQBAB H H34 0236" means that it's a High end unit

Thank you, it's reassuring finding progressively more info after a mistake, I will now hunt the web for those Superb adaptations. I found a report of a Russian doing a similar BCM swap on an octavia in order to have 30 color ambient light,so my effort will probably aid future mk7 owners that want to go full RGB.
Looking through that Russian forum I also read that bi-xenon for DLA don't need the "shutter pin" since their high beams work via CAN, and so a Mid+ BCM might be sufficient.
I will do the BCM exchange regardless since I need the headlight washer system and my current BCM doesn't support it, but would I have been fine where it not for the washers?
For reference I currently obtained the housings for bi-xenon DLA (5G1941043E, 44E) and am getting the AFS control module. I don't have high beam assist or Lane assist though.

Update n.1: I'm still missing the drivers for the DRL led modules so this will be a stepwise approach, but I got hold of my second key fob and swapped the BCM with standard lights. After removing the component protection and adapting the immobilizer, the BCM was full of DTCs. I tried my proposed new coding and from my quick testing most functions seem to be maintained. Some adapatations are based on trial and error. There are no errors in any control unit at the moment. I didn't modify all interior and ambient lighting settings yet, they're a minor annoyance that I will deal later with. Currently not working: -HIGH BEAM, lichthupe instead works as before. This is my biggest issue - Anti-theft sensor deactivation button Attached is the new and old BCM backup and the excel worksheet that I used to figure out most of the coding gofile.io/d/05Bgt5

^^^ You must tell me the process that you used to translate the .TXT file to .XLXS format.
Anyhow, if I understand your spreadsheet correctly, your old hex09 module had Byte 2=hex18, or Binary 00011000. Bits 0-2 determined the high beam set-up - so this was set as hex00, or "Basis". I assume that your car has bog-standard halogen headlights
The new hex09 module doesn't have a long code string, but the high beam set up is determined by the adaptation channel Fernlicht_assistent - Erweiterte_Fernlichtsteuerung. The current setting for this channel is AFS, Fernlicht ueber AFS according to your spreadsheet. Until you retrofit the new headlights, perhaps change this to Basis
For alarm button - maybe set IRUE_NGS_Deaktivierungstaster_direkt_am BCM_verdrahtet to installed/active - assuming that the button is wired to the hex09 module Don

I "translated" the txt file to excel by looking for the corresponding rows and copy pasting every value. It was a long tedious work but it's the only way I know, besides OBD11 doesn't offer other export options
For the headlight control I had already set it to Basis but the high beams still would'nt turn on continuously. I tried it again at night and it works without issues, so I'm assuming that the car got smarter and doesn't allow me to use high beams when the sun is shining strong. I had never tried to turn on high beams during the day with the previous BCM either, so maybe it was already a function that I didn't know I had. Maybe messing with all the light sensor lux values can change this behavious but at the moment I'm not interested. Anyway every day I learn something.
Regarding the deactivation button: it's wired to the hex09 and with the previous BCM worked flawlessly; I set IRUE_NGS_Deaktivierungstaster_direkt_am BCM_verdrahtet to true, but it's still not doing anything. I will try more combinations with Deaktivierung_DWA_Sensoren_HMI and Deaktivierung DWA-Sensoren via Doppelklick. I understand what they do but maybe some combination will bring back the button functionality that is honestly better. There's also this adaptation: Deaktivierung_SAFE_ueber_DWA_Deaktivierungstaster that I tried setting both active and not active, but still no success. I know that facelift cars don't have the button anymore and use the radio with the HMI adaptation, so that could be the reason. What is SAFE btw?
As far as I'm concerned the BCM upgrade can be considered successful. MK7 can use MK7.5 BCMs
For the step 2 of bixenon retrofit I'm wondering now if I should connect the height sensor(s) to the BCM or to hex55, it's something that at most will require some trial and error with both adaptations and pin swapping.

^^ ^^ ^^ I assume that "SAFE" refers to "SAFELOCK" which is a type of deadlock mechanism that is sometimes included on RoW model mk7s. Cars with SAFELOCK have an additional motor in their door locks that disables the internal opening lever.
The rear level sensor is connected to the hex55 module (assuming that you don't have DCC- electronic dampening)

Re: safelock. I disabled it since it wasn't active with the previous BCM. I haven't had any success in enabling the alarm deactivation button and I tried all combinations that I could think of. Maybe it's not possible.
I was asking about the height sensor since the facelift BCMs have more pins than pre-facelift and 6 of those pins are for the height sensors.
Anyway I followed your advice and connected the rear sensor to the 55 and did a test fit of the lights with the wiring laid out outside of the vehicle. Blinkers, U-shaped DRLs and low beams work without issue. The high beams instead don't work. I did some output tests and the light motor works and moves the light up, down and to the sides so it's not the motor.
I received two different AFS slave modules (at the moment 3D0941329G on the left and 3D0941329A on the right) and the errors in hex55 are U101400 (control module incorrectly coded) and C1082F1 (right headlamp power output stage). The second error might be due to the static cornering light bulb missing (will be a donated from my halogens once I swap them completely) and it's only on the R side since the L headlight had the 3D0941329G which I'm assuming doesn't handle Afs static cornering light. I don't know how to solve the first error since I tried a lot of variations in the coding and the error remained. The unit is coded 06CE00001E000200 and I can change all bytes except for the first.

Update: I finally received 2 correct new AFS slave modules that are right for the lights (3D0941329E) and after coding no errors were present in 55. The lights work properly except for high beams and a strange behaviour in the left light angel eyes. I tried to code the lights like in this post forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/25471/but no matter what I do I can't get the high beams to work. I tried both setting Fernlichtassistent to 'AFS, FLA, Fernlicht über AFS' and to 'AFS, FLA (GLW , MDF)' [and other options] but none worked and I kept getting error U101400 in the BCM, I also tried into aussenlicht_front -> Abblendlicht_leuchtentyp both H7 and GDL but the error isn't going away. I tried also enabling in module 55 byte 04 bit 6 (maskiertes dauerfahrlicht MDF according to long coding assistant) but it won't let me (like I can't change car model to 02 -> golf). I'm guessing that the 55 and maybe also the 09 need new parameters correct for this car and lights and I most likely need to install the A5 front camera to get the whole system to work. And now to the strange issue with the left angel eyes (leuchte2sl vlb10). The squares don't light up when set as allgemeinstandlicht nor park lights. I swapped the R and L housings and it happens only on the left side, so the housings and leds are fine. I tried to do the output test from 09 ->'daytime running lights' and both sides light up correctly, so it's neither a wiring issue. I don't know what to make of it. The coding is the exact same for both sides except for error channels.

sorry for the long absence, here i pasted the current admap of my golf with the facelift BCM pastebin.com/ZNWsMsYUto update on the retrofit attempt, I still haven't got the DLA xenons to work, but now it's because of issues with the A5 camera (which I deemed necessary). I bought a tool which can flash datasets and will use it on my 55 and A5 in order to get the AFS to work

Update: I finally mounted everything together and the lights work flawlessly. They turn with the steering and do the adaptive high beam as needed without blinding other cars. But the BCM isn't happy and reports U1014 (control module incorrectly coded). I tried every variation of adaptation and none seems to work. Is there any coding specific to these kind of lights in the facelift BCMs?

Last update I hope. I finally managed to get all the errors fixed. The "control module incorrectly coded" was due to a light adaptation which I borrowed from a tiguan with DLA led and 55. The adaptation is light_configuration. (see screenshot with the correct adaptation). I don't understand it since it's just letters and numbers but now it seems to be working without errors so no complaints. ibb.co/RPQV4RYIf anyone needs the full admap for such a double retrofit (new bcm and adaptive lights) just ask and I will send it/post it
