I have the same question. I replaced the timing chain on a 2009 VW EOS 2.0T TSI in Feb 2020 (11 months ago). I do not know if something needs to be reset, although I have heard the Humble Mechanic discussing under VCDS UDS protocol, there is a Basic Setting IDE06716 "Timing Chain Elongation: reset after chain replacement".
My VW EOS 2009 2.0T TSI Engine control module protocol is TP2.0:KWP2000, not UDS. The commands for Basic Settings in KWP2000 is just one byte (0 - 256 values). So far, I do not see a Basic Setting in OBDeleven to trigger adaption to a new timing chain.
This video may help In OBDeleven, go to Engine, Live Date, select "Camshaft adjustment adaptation (93)". If the third value is between -4.8% and +4.8%, the timing chain can be good. Some people say if greater than +/- 4% you may experience some problems. Note: mine is about -1.10%.

Same question, did you ever find a way to do the reset.....just did the chain, and engine running rough.....timing adaptation looks good at 1-3%, i.e. under 5%, and engine fires right up with no delay common to chain elongation, as before the new chain,.....but getting misfires on all cylinders,......
