From a lot of reading I've done the mk6 platforms don't necessarily need security codes for certain modules for certain tasks. Depends which task your trying to do.

The security code is NOT accessible to us. It is a secret code thats unique to every car. The dealer has a program that used to give them the code when they connect to your car but now VW servers give them access to the car so even they dont see the code. This code can be used for malicious things such as changing mileage, instrument cluster adaptations etc. That is why it is why they dont give it out. There are ways to get it but that would involve reading it from a chip soldered onto the ECU. You can also see this code if you have a genuine version of ODIS.
