On the '15 the Set/Resume buttons would change the cruise by +-1 and then the +- buttons (on the left) would change cruise by +- 5 increments.
On the 2016/2017, the set and resume don't do anything to change what cruise is set to and the left +- buttons only change it by 1. If I hold the buttons, it will keep changing by 1 but that's it.
Is it possible to change the behavior on the 2016/2017 to match how it works on the 2015? So far, this is my only frustration after I upgrade from the '15 to the '17.

on my '17 (US GSW) the +/- buttons will increase by 5 if held.
[update] - Cruise must not be engaged for the 5 mph steps. [/update]

In the center of the all the buttons is a silver ring with - and +... These will raise and lower the speed. It takes time to get used to it.

I guess you were talking in mph, not kph steps before. If i may add one question here: can be speed steps (while driving with buttons, seen on picture in previos post) set to 5 kph, not on 10kph, like i have now? This would be great, if you can add on app list.

Hi all, I believe I know what setting elheffe needs to change. In module 13 Adaptive Cruise Control, check out setting "Operation_mode". On my 2017 Polo (EU spec): - If set to operation_mode_1, the silver buttons do 10km/h increments, the RES/SET buttons do 1.
- If set to operation_mode_2, the silver buttons do 1km/h increments, the RES/SET buttons do nothing speed related.
10km/h corresponds to 5mp/h in US cars I think. Hope this helps!

This did the trick! Thanks a ton!
I went from a 2015 to a 2016, and this was one of the things that really got on my nerves.

On the module list I don't have module 13. It goes from 9 - Central Electronics to 15 Airbag. I'm still new to OBDEleven so it could be user error but I'd love to get this working like it used to!

Guys,
I have the same problem. No ACC and therefore no ACC module 13. My car is a 2015, but I recently had it tuned. When I got it back, the function of the cruise control buttons had been updated. I very much prefer the 2015 version, but I can't find it in OBD11. I will take any help available. I've been through all the long coding options for just about every module and saw nothing. I'm wondering if the setpoint I'm looking for is only listed in German and I don't know what I'm reading. Thanks,
Hawkeye

More work with OBD11:
Found some settings in the Steering Column Electronics Module that looked promising. Specifically: "CCS Switch Installed". It was marked 'no', so I marked it 'yes'. End result, no cruise control at all, plus several errors as I tried to engage it. Reset that bit to 'no' and everything works as before. Also spent some time in the 'green engineering menu', and found nothing there that would solve the problem. Still looking...

The option "CCS switch" on the module @ address hex16 (see below) is intended to be used on those vehicles that have a specific CCS stalk installed. If you set this software switch to "installed", the smarts in the module will ignore the buttons on the steering wheel and it will look for a set-up using the stalk switches. If the stalk switches are not installed (and the software switch is activated), I suspect that a number of infeasible conditions will result leading to lots of error messages. I assume your car uses the switches below Don

Exactly correct. My car does use the switches shown in your diagram, only they don't behave as shown. The car is still behaving as before, which is to say like a 2016 or later model. In OBD 11 I also tried enabling the 'CCS on turn signal switch' just to see if I'd get lucky. I didn't. I spent a great deal of time in the 'green engineering' menu. It's an interesting place to visit, but most of the parameters are either 'fixed' because of the hardware or can be set via OBD11, which is easier to navigate and understand. Still looking for that one person who has found the 'grail' and knows how to reset the switches to their former function. Thanks for confirming my experience.
