Im getting fault 01044-control module incorrectly coded for the radio. Vehicle is a 2007 GLI. I think the radio in it was replaced by previous owner as I can’t find any images of GLIs form this year with my radio. Dealership wants to charge me $450 to fix it. My goal is to be able to use the aux in. Any help is appreciated

Please post a complete SCAN of your car (not just the radio) so we can assist you.

If it is a GLI, then it should come with a Premium 7 or if you are lucky a Premium 8 radio like the RCD-510
Enabling the Aux-in, is just a simple if it is a RCD-510, as it is in LONG CODING and you will see it in Byte 00 to enable.
