Hi,
Interesting one here. Just made an adaptation on my car for the fog lights at the front.
Whilst I was in there I did a quick fault scan and cleared an intermittent mirror folding fault.
I then took my car for a 5 minute drive to test my fog light adaptation, and when I got back I did another scan to make sure no bulb errors or similar came up.
On the scan I got 11 transmission faults. Stuck in gear 1 . . . . Stuck in gear 6 Stuck in gear R Speed sensor error Partial gear selection Etc etc
After clearing the faults, they all came back as I drove and cycled through the gears.
Anybody have any clue why I'd be getting these, and how to fix ? I've scanned in the past and never seen these faults. Surely my fog light adaptation didn't cause transmission errors ?
By the way, no dash lights or check engine light. The faults also show as intermittent.
Thanks, Matt

On my car I had 12 errors, Stuck in gear 1 - 6, stuck in reverse, Valve 3 in partial transmission and cooling oil valve.
The clear afterwards worked fine and from memory these gearbox issues are shown when you run the scan with engine running.
Have you tried with just ignition on and run the scan and then do a clear.

Rookie mistake. Thanks for your guidance. Did my adaptation with the engine on. Guess I was lucky it worked then ?
Will remember to to all adaptations / scans and clears with IGN and not engine on.
Thanks for your quick response !

I am not an expert but I think its ok to code with engine on, just the scans that give strange results when engine running and the DSG Box gives many odd results to the scan.
Hopefully others with more knowledge can confirm about coding with engine on (but i have certainly done changes that way).
Also when doing a full backup I found it best to do with engine on so you don't suffer any issues with low battery.
