Hello, I have a new Polo 2019 and the start/stop system is working only after long trips.
Searching some live data I found the following:
1. Number of prevented stop processes
Possible service life to short: 1791
Battery charge condition to low: 1985
Any idea what is this Possible service life to short?
2. With the engine ON at idle I have the following readings:
Battery current: 3.2A
Generator current: 25.1A
EM_electrical_system_current: 21.9A
Measuring the generator current with a clamp meter I see much lower current
than the current from the OBD live data ~15A and the same also with the
EM_electrical_system_current.
On the other hand the negative terminal current is matching the OBD Battery current.
Is this normal for the EM_electrical_system_current to be so high at idle (without having
any loads on eg. headlights, climate, etc)?
3. On the cars start/stop system status display I get the following message:
Vehicle power consumption is high
after having the vehicle engine ON for a while and the start/stop is not working.
4. With the ignition ON the battery current is ~5A
5. The battery charge condition is at 62%
6. The start/stop starting voltage prediction shows
that the power consumption during idle phase is 25A
Is this value normal?
7. I have measured the battery current after I have locked the car, and the current draw is less than 50mA.
Any ideas what could be the problem.
I have already went the car to the official service. They checked the car and they told me
that they cannot find anything wrong with the car except that the battery was not fully charged.
They charged the battery, the start/stop worked for 1 week and now I see the same problem again.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Many thanks
