I installed a new SWCM had coded SW column with cruise control and got steering assist working properly. My original part is 1K0498203AL, and my mew part is 1K0498203AQ.

The problem I have now is the airbag error code 01587 which I can't seemed to find a solution using the OBDeleven. Could someone please help.

Do I need to recode the airbag due to the new SWCM and how it is done with the OBDeleven. I checked Ross-Tech and I need to input the last 2 digits of my airbag part number which is "1S" in my case but I find nowhere with the OBDeleven to input these 2 digits.

Something sound very wrong about your part numbers.

wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/01587 This would be a wiring issue.

This is a good time to ensure you are using the Revision "C" clock spring. I'd also put back the original SWCM to see if the fault goes away (and check the old coding to ensure everything gets transferred over (but include the cruise control option).

Is the replacement SWCM a used item?
