Yeah it’s more about the infotainment system you have, if you have a pro then you can have it on both, if you don’t then you need to press a button on screen and it will be displayed on the AID instead of the mmi (I think the button is under view or something similar)

But even if you don't see the actual map in the AID you should see the direction arrows in it's place indicating that the AID is receiving Nav data. Like vwjap said above, if you don't have Nav Pro then the map can only be displayed on one unit at a time - it's either in the infotainment unit (so just direction arrows in the AID), or by pressing the small icon at the bottom of the Nav screen on the infotainment unit, it will swap to be shown on the AID with the infotainment unit now only showing turn instructions.
