Little background, I have a 2017 Alltrack and was successful modifying the ESC options in the past (and other things) with lode coding and the one step apps.
Now to my topic, I recent also purchased a 2020 GTI S and it has a newer different software version than the 2017 model. I know the change is the same spot as the 2017 but the HEX value has changed with the newer version software, vs the older which has a "0" instead of "8" in the HEX.
Here is what I have been trying with no success in changing the HEX code.
When I tried to do this it would not save the change, am I missing something or has VW blocked modifying ESC on 2020?
Thank you for any help!

On your 2020 GTI does it currently have "ESC & ASR ON / ASR OFF / ESC SPORT" menu options? Also would you be so kind to show the full long coding "string"

Here is the long coding string for the 03 Brakes CU, I bolded Byte 29 01 FA 6B A1 50 20 21 70 80 7D 02 09 60 C3 68 80 D6 0A 84 01 40 06 16 76 10 41 50 51 D0 89 4B 0B 00 00 00 00 12 12 12 12 B8 35 35 19 19 32 32 00 Cheers!

Just an update, I was finally successful with the long code saving for ESC changes. Since it has been a year since my original post, I decided to research if anyone has since been successful. I read many good post from users with info, tips, and tricks from around the world. Thank you to all who contribute!
It seems I have a US model 2020 MK7 FL GTI with 48 byte, so the values I posted originally were correct but ....
*Opening the hood* before accessing the long coding page was the trick. I was then able to save the new value for Byte 29 (88 in my case).
I saw some other users were having questions about this in the US, so I thought I would update my original thread from last year.
Cheers!
