Hi, since running the last update on the app my Obdeleven pro unit is no longer responding when I try to to connect. I've tried a few things like deleting the app and re-downloading, but that didn't help. I've tried forgetting the device on Bluetooth settings and reconnecting, I am able to find the device and attach Bluetooth no problem but once I try to connect with the device it states that it's not responding. I never had this occur prior to the update so tried backdating my phone to prior to the update but the update is not optional so can't proceed without doing it anyway.

mattyhogg is this Android or IOS and what device are you using (white or black)

Google pixel 3XL, I have tried using a different phone as well. I am using the white one (couple of years old now)

Thanks, when you plug in the dongle and have ignition on do you see the lights on (From memory its red and or yellow)
In your settings under device have you got the Ask which device to connect to turned on and when you do this does it show you the device is active.

It only has a red light.
In settings I have it turned on to select device from list, then when I try to connect it comes up with my device and allows me to select it but that's as far as I get. It tries to connect for a couple of seconds then comes up red down the bottom saying device not responding.
I noticed then that in phone settings when I search for the device it allows me to connect no problem but then instantly disconnects and moves to the previously connected devices category and although it is lit up blue saying connect, I cannot select it?

Well bad news I suspect. This is taken from the help section What error message did you get when you are trying to connect via OBDeleven app?Check what exactly happens when you press the connect button. If you are receiving a message "Device not responding" so the device is most likely faulty and you should contact Customer Support.
Use the in app help function to talk to the team.

Anyone resolve this yet? I may have to make a new thread to revive the problem since support doesnt seem to have an answer. Seems to me that the update they most recently released is making the app totally useless for alot of us with android devices. Hoping this has been solved or ill be badgering them for a replacement F.O.C

I was having similar problems, I contacted support, they asked for my username which is tied to the device ID. Next time I tried to connect it worked and had been working since. I don't know if it was a device issue or a connection problem but it was fixed.

Hello i'm having the same problem "device not responding" since update and support telling me my device is faulty(that i'm not sure of it was working great before update),anyone solved this problem?

Obdeleven owner here, bought the device with the Pro Version, was working fine until 2 months ago, just the other day tried to use it to clear a "service due" msg on my car and surprisingly it doesn't connect anymore...
It's the same car, same device and same phone that it used to be working up until 2 months ago before I went for a vacation. Came back, tried to use it and big surprise... It's not working.
Used my older phone, that it use to be working fine back in the day before I upgraded to my current phone, didn't work with that one either.
I am owning the device since 2020, barely use it for a handful of times. I mostly have it so I would be able to unlock my steering wheel if that ever happens while I am being away from home. I own and Audi and the steering wheel lock it's known as being problematic.
Anyway, I have a feeling that my device was intentionally updated so it no longer works, so I have to buy a new one, something like I will never do it again. I will buy anything else, but not Obdeleven. I'll buy a device that works on it's own, without the need of internet connection.

I'm getting the same feeling.
It was working perfectly, then they release the "new and improved" next gen version. Almost immediately the older version gets an update and stops working.
If anyone finds out how to resolve this please let me know. I have a brake pad change coming up and I need to be able to retract the EPB so I can access the rear pads, which was the very reason I purchased the ODBEleven in the 1st place.

i use both devices with no issues (apart from the bugs) ON BOTH ANDROID AND IOS

Had no issue with my device. A day after running an update, now it no longer connects. I have used it so many times with no problems
Reached out to support only to be told to purchase the NextGen and they will give me a 15% discount.
That was disappointing and also making clear they are the ones phasing out the 1st Gen through updates
