Hi all,
I want to buy OBDeleven for personal use, currently I own a Passat and Android phone, and in the next 4-5 years I do not want to change it the car nor the phone system. As far as I have read the benefit from Nextgen is iOS app and new cars that will come (BMW in line).
My question is that are there any possibilities to do more with Nextgen than with Firstgen regarding a VAG car in Android?

Regarding VAG first and nextgen can do the same. As you've already said the benefits of nextgen are: - Support for other car brands(bmw will be next) - Can be used with IOS - More processor power than firstgen - Nextgen is more future-proof (thanks to dv52)

^^^Thirsty: Hi. I've read on multiple posts how the nextgen is faster and I've no doubt that technically the onboard processing speed for the device is indeed quicker.
However, and I intend no offense to either you or the design boffins @ OBD11 - in the more practical world, how a user will perceive the increased speed of nextgen is really determined by the ISP response - because this is often the limiting factor.
A user's perception of OBD11 dongle speed is determined by OBD11's unique architecture that relies on the exchange of lots of information with a central database which resides on OBD11's mothership. ISP speed is not an issue with other diagnostic devices - so increased processor speed is a more pertinent selling point for these other devices, I suggest
Again, without intending any contradiction to your correct statement that nextgen "is faster than firstgen", it's really the speed of ALL the end-to-end procedures (including the nextgen processing speed) that should be important decision points for prospective buyers IMHO.
That said, I would add another advantage for nextgen to your list; it's more future-proof than first-gen
