Hello everyone, I am installing the internal handle light and would like a help if possible. Which 32-pin connector pins do I need to connect and how do I configure the obdeleven?
I am wanting to install an internal led on the front doors: DRIVE DOOR> J386 - Hardware Number: 5Q0959393B and PASSENGER DOOR> J387 - Hardware number: 5Q0959592B.

After the installation, the software switch that tells the door modules to start operating the door handle lamp is enabled by setting Byte 1, Bit 3 on the hex42 and hex52 modules.

^^^^ yes, pin #5 (should have a brown wire attached) on the 32-pin connector in my picture is the earth. Don
PS: I've altered my original picture to show the earth connection

Don, please, will the inner handle light only come on when the car lighting is in AUTO mode? I did it as you went here but it didn't light ... As I did during the day, I got this thought. Could you help me one more time, please? Thank you. |

Could you help me one more time, please? Thank you. Eli: No - the inner door handle light comes on when the car is unlocked and it stays illuminated for a period of time after the doors are locked. This happens regardless of the position of the LDS (at least it does on my car)'
I'm not sure why your light isn't working - it's a fairly simple retrofit project. Did you install incandescent lights, or LED's? If the latter, did you make certain that the polarity of the leads was correct?
When you removed the 32 x pin connector to install the new wire on pin#3, did you eye-ball that the mating pin was physically installed on the module housing?
My other suggestion is to check that the module is trying to drive the new lights, You can do this by selecting live data on each module and then selecting Dimming of inside door handle lighting. - see the screenshots below (I've shown the iOS version software, but the Android OS will have the same functionality)
If the reading on the 2nd screen is 255%, or zero - the function isn't working properly on the module - check the Byte/Bit settings as per my instructions

I did all these checks: they have the pins, the lights are LEDs and the polarization is correct. However, in the live data it says "0%". Do I need to make any further adjustments? I appreciate your understanding.

^ ^^^ eli: OK - If the live data value is NOT 255% (255=hexFF), it means that the coding change is correct. So, make sure the channels below are as indicated on the hex09 (Central electrics) module - this should give you the option of setting the background lighting on the MIB Menu. make sure door lighting is ticked and the slider isn't @ zero - Interior light: light configuration-Ambientemenue mit globalem aus > active
- Interior light: light configuration-Ambientemenue mit alle Zonen > active
- Interior light: light configuration-Frei_Farbwahl_ueber_HMI > not active

Don,
These three "light setting" items are the same as what you reported. The slider works in the MIB menu. The light intensity of the handle on the MIB works on the screen, but the lights on the doors are not working. Recalling that the live data informs that the intensity of the illumination of the internal door handle is 0%. What else can I check?
