U112300 & C103607
I have a MK7 Golf R, DSG with DCC and Xenons etc. When I installed the lowering springs I did remember to disconnect the front level control but when I got the rear I completely forgot to disconnect it before lowering the control arm to remove spring and, obviously, this snapped the rear level sensor. So I completed the install and ordered one from ShopDAP that night as my wallet and ego cried. Every time shortly after starting up I would get the “Error! Adaptive Front Lighting (AFS)” with the orange triangle on the dash.
Once I got the new rear level sensor , I installed and connected it up. But the same error continued. I obviously searched around the forums etc and this all boiled down to two suggestions
1. The cornering lights had blown - check and replace if needed.
2. Complete the basic setting of headlights and acknowledge.
I checked on both of those and made sure I followed all steps correctly, and still the error persisted. After a really long while now I have lived with it, and sure enough a couple minutes after starting the error dutifully bings. Every single time. There has never been a time since that it hasn’t come up shortly after turning the car on. I lived with and became complacent and never followed up to get it right I have been too busy. But I have a renewed interest in getting this resolved so I thought I would ask here.
Things I can tell you:
- The rear level sensor is a brand new genuine replacement part from ShopDAP.
- Connection to the sensor has been checked and rechecked.
- I have completed the basic setting of headlight several times.
- The xenon headlights do the “dance” on starting.
- The xenon headlights (AFS) will actually “bend” and function correctly until the error goes off and then they do not move.
- The cornering lights function correctly.
My thinking is that I need to have the sensor I replaced “learn” its normal starting place and perhaps that is what the error is. Because the values are outside what it expects? I don’t know I am guessing. All the functions of the car work absolutely fine. Even the AFS/ the Xenon turning with steering input will function until the error pops. then the Xenons will not “bend” with the steering input. They just point straight ahead and not move left to right.
The specific errors I have are:

I use OBDeleven and do not have access to VCDS, but if you have suggestions on what I can try before I give in please let me know.
