My MK7.5 GTI has the rearview camera with Park Pilot. When I shift into reverse, the rear camera will activate but once I shift back into drive, the camera shuts off immediately and it shows the Park Pilot graphics instead. Is there a coding where I can delay the rear camera from shutting off and have it still activated when I drive forward for a few seconds? When I drove the MK6 Jetta, it had this feature. Sometimes when I back into a spot I might overshoot the parking bay lines, it'll help if I can see how much I need to move forward.

Sounds like you have the low line camera (no bendy lines) as the highline camera has a speed it has to go over for it to disappear, and I think if you press the parking button the rear camera activates too, whereas the low line is connected to the reverse light

I'm not aware of any MK7/MK7FL Golf/GTI have trajectory lines for the rear view camera.

OR if it would be possible to switch on the rear camera by a button (parking button or some else) anytime I want (even if the car is moving forward normally, would be the best). Thanks anybody for suggestions.

Again, as in two posts up above yours, if you don’t have the highline camera you cannot do this as it’s connected to the reverse light, lowline is just a camera and a motor to flip the camera out, it has no ECU for programming

^^John: I might be mis-reading the dynamic in this thread, but there seems to be some confusion about what's being requested (at least in my mind).
You are certainly correct about the added features of the high-line camera (which appears as a separate module on the OBD11 scan report)
But the issue that I read in this dialogue is about how the (low-line?) camera is switched-off. As we both know, the switch-off mechanism for the RVC is determined by the forward speed of the car: the factory setting is that the car must be traveling at least 10 km/h for the RVC to switch-off. This threshold speed can be altered (to an extent) by the adaptation channel Switch-off speed for parking assist in the Parking Assistance module @ address hex76.
If OP can't get this to work correctly by checking this adaptation channel, then perhaps he/she can post-up the long code string for the Parking Assistance module

You got it Don, that's what I'm asking. However as I said in my first post, the camera shuts off immediately when I shift into Drive. The car is stationary.
For the MK6 Jetta, you are correct that its rear view camera shuts off at a certain speed, however it does not work like that in my MK7.5 NAR GTI.

It doesn’t switch off after a speed, just when you take it out of reverse as far as I know don, as it’s a physical connection not a digital connection

However, on my 2 x MQB platform vehicles (mk7 Golf - which has a low-line camera and Audi A3 8V - which has a high-line camera), the turn-off mechanism for the RVC is definitely the forward speed of the car. I know because I have altered the threshold speed on both cars to 7 km/h by changing the adaptation channel Switch-off speed for parking assist in the Parking Assistance module @ address hex76.
Is it different for a mk7.5 and if so - what is the factory setting for the adaptation channel above?

When I looked at fitting a lowline before I discovered my car was fitted with a highline, the loom only had 5 camera connections, live, earth, black and white (video feed) and a black/blue that goes to reverse light wire in the boot lid, plus the boot open wires, so unless the reverse light turns off at speed there’s no way the camera knows the speed,

Hi john? How did you know that your car have the high line camera? The 6C was not active? i didn’t know I had a camera so bought a new one, when I came to fit it I realised there was one already there (trailer assist), except the video feed was missing, enabled it and it popped out so fitted the video feed from the low line I had bought, job done, So if anyone around just north of the M25 (London) wants a camera they can come and pick it up, you’d just need to buy a loom,

To explain, first allow me to provide 2 x "official" pieces of information like this: 1 - Here's the schematic for how the reversing camera (it's called R189) fits into the CAN network for a low-line RVC: 2 - And here is an extract from VW explaining the turn-off conditions for the RVC:
The lower part of the screen-shot (below the blue line) is from the A3 8V manual - it confirms the last condition in the upper part of my picture'
So, here's my understanding of how the RVC works:
- you are correct about the blue/black wire - this is the switch-on/off signal. But R189 only uses the pulse-edge of the DC supply for the reverse light - for switch-on, once R189 sees this edge (from 0V to 12V), the rest of the camera operation is kept energised by the red/yellow wire to fuse #18.
- The RVC also sees the trailing edge (12V to 0V) of the reverse light switch-off signal via the blue/black wire - when the car is put into a forward gear. When this happens:
- The RVC is kept switched-on for a period of 10 seconds -regardless of anything else except if the ignition is turned-off (which will deactivate the voltage supply to fuse #18)
- Before 10 seconds has elapsed - If the forward speed of the car is greater than the threshold setting in the adaptation channel that I identified above, only the MIB screen part of the RVC function is disabled (i.e. the camera itself is still energized for the remaining 10 second period - without a display). The threshold speed normally has a factory setting of 10 km /h, but it can have a value of 0 km /h - I guess. As you know, the MIB is part of the CAN network - therefore it has access to information about the car's speed
- If the forward speed of the car doesn't exceed the threshold setting - the camera will simply switch off after 10 seconds
- If the driver manually switches-off the display (condition 3 above), the camera still remains energized for the remaining 10 second period)

Makes sense, but why have the wire connected to the reverse light? Why not control the whole thing by the fuse? If the fuse is controlled by the infotainment? As that knows when in reverse and what speed,

John: the RVC "fuse" (by which I assume you mean fuse #18) is a Terminal-15 voltage supply - which means that it is only energized when the ignition is switched-on. On a Golf mk7, ALL Terminal-15 supplies are generated by the Central Electrics module via the relay J329. If you look at my CAN network diagram, you will see that the reverse switch (F4) is also connected to the Central Electrics module as is also the light supply for the reversing lights. So - ALL the input signals for the RVC come from the Central Electrics module - I suspect that having just one module control the entire RVC function simplifies the wiring and minimizes faults (because it's simpler). The MIB really doesn't control anything on the RVC - it only provides the blanking function for its own screen when the speed exceeds the threshold. Don

Gotcha, sorry it was early morning when I first red your comment, didn’t click on that whatever happens the camera is on for 10 seconds, and it’s just the mmi screen switching off 🤦♂️

Even if i press the parking assist button while in drive it only activates/deactivates OPS view, in reverse parking assist button activates/deactivates reverse camera video feed. I have tried changing different adaptions the day I got my Golf MK7.5 which is slightly over a year now and gave up since I couldnt find anything that could change it.

Hi
My problem is that, T-ROC reversing camera with high equipment has just been installed.
The following error code is: Camera default setting is not performed.
Can anyone help me with what the solution is then?
Thanks in advance

Hello Paroby.
I think that the error is No Basic Setting. If it was the error, you must calibrate the camera with a panel, like the front camera. This calibration can not be done with obdeleben. Only with odis or vcds. In youtube you can search a calibration of a Tiguan Rear camera using vcds.....
The calibration panel is situated in the rear of the vehicle.
