Hey guys, has anyone disabled the annoying “not available while driving” dialog? I’m going to do VIM tonight with my OBDeleven and was wondering if anyone has any coding to disable that annoying feature. I found my old notes I took for my older Audi’s that talked about disabling something similarDisable NAV & Phone warning messages while entering data at speed
[5F - Information Electr.] -> Adaptation -> Set channel 2 & 3 to 250
Anyone have an Info?

fdot You are talking about VIM or how to enter text/read messages while driving? Regarding VIM, I used Obdeleven app and all is working great so far. Regarding text (enter/read) while driving: a) 5F Multimedia -> adaptations -> nhtsa_properties -> I set NotActived to all b) 5F Multimedia -> adaptations -> Locked menu contents -> I set "Non blocked" to all. Now I can watch video, read news and messages, enter text while driving, without any problem.

I’m talking about how half the menu items grey out as soon as I start driving.

fdot Could You please be more specific, what exactly is graying out?! Please post a picture. Currently I do not understand what problem You have.

He is talking about a lot of the mmi menu items are grayed out when you are moving. A lot of them are. For example, you can not check your engine oil level while moving. You have to be stopped. Some of the navigation entries are greyed out when moving. You can not enter a manual phone number on the keypad screen when you are moving.

I know, its kind of hard to tell, but as soon as you start moving, most the display icons turn grey and you are unable to look through menus while driving.

fdot and jdI just tested in my car while driving. Menu items are available, I can even enter phone number manually while driving. I guess, thats related to settings in module 5F Multimedia. 5F Multimedia -> adaptations -> Locked menu contents -> I set "Non blocked" to all. What configuration You have?

I found this out by doing some digging around. Go to 5F multimedia - Adaptation - Vehicle configuration. Then scroll down until you see 'unblock_functions_while_piloted_driving - switch it to enabled. And wallah. Now u can switch interior color while driving as well as the other settings.

For the C8 and OBDeleven, true it is 5F, and adaptation, but the name of the item is "Locked Menu Contents" change all from "blocked" to "non_blocked"
So: 5F > adaptation > Locked Menu Contents - change all from "blocked" to "non_blocked"
There are quite a few to change. Make sure you make a log of what you changed.
Also for Android Auto you can unlock quite a bit, not so much for Apple Carplay
5F > Adaptation > NHSTA Properties - change all from "active" to "not active"
Again make a log.
Works like a charm - used it in a 45 and 55 TFSI

I tried this and change everything in both "Locked Menu Contents" and "NHSTA Properties" to "Non_blocked" and "Not_Activated" respectively but still have menu items greyed out when driving. Had the hood open, parking brake engaged and ignition on, engine off. Went back and confirmed all the coding "took" and everything is indeed "non-blocked" and "not activated". Can't figure out what I've done wrong.
I'm in a C8 Allroad so coding should be more or less the same. Feel like there is something somewhere I missed or don't know about...
