I'm sure this would already be discussed if it was possible, but can it be coded to have the door handle access from KESSY active while running. I already have the fob active but figured it's worth a shot to ask.

- Select Security Access
- Enter the magic number 31347
- Select Adaptation
- Search for Access control and select
- Select Funk bei Klemme 15 ein.
- Change setting to active

That was one of the first tweaks I had made. It did make the fob function with the car running but the handle access stays deactivated. I was hoping there was another setting to change to get that working. Thanks for the help Don.

Hey Don, I think I may have gotten somewhere with this. I was searching through modules and made this coding change. It didn't change anything but I was wondering if you have any insight. I went through the setup menu on the infotainment and did a factory reset for locks but that didn't help either. I would try to look further under access control but its all in German. Any thoughts?

Sure - you could go through the long coding entries with google translate and see if there is anything interesting in the code-string
As a further option -here's the list of all of the adaptation channels in the KESSY module at address hex05. May be something worth considering in the list as well!

So I can confirm that the coding change I previously posted has worked on an R, but not on 2 GTIs that I tried it on. All 3 were 2016 models. Can the control module be different in the R or is there something else I can look into?

I was messing around with this a little more and comparing info between my module and the module in an R. Everything about the module, other than serial numbers, were identical. Anyone have any ideas of what is different about the R? I also noticed that the light on the remote does flash when touching the door handle, like it is trying to work, but just doesn't lock or unlock.

So - if there is no variation in the KESSY module between the R and GTI, perhaps the answer lies in the Central electrics module (@ address hex09). This module contains a bunch of adaptation channels with the Parent descriptor Access control and Access control 2. You could compare the settings for the two cars - if you want to persevere with the feature Don

Can the control module be different in the R or is there something else I can look into? I can also confirm this worked on my '16 R. I've enabled this as well as the locking ability from the remote. The last piece to tie this all together would be to be able to actually, yes this is crazy, press the lock button on the driver's side door while the engine is running and the door is open. Anyone know if this is possible?

Has Anyone had it tell you that it’s not supported on the app? Also I’ve done the steps but can’t find access control after doing the security and then going to adaptation.

Try looking for ZV allgemein
Looks like it’s not supported because you have a newer module, and like you the app can’t find access control

Can someone share the instructions because i would really like this to work on my car

My initial instructions for this tweak were written for an early model mk7. If your car was built after about mid 2016 (depends on the model/country), the central electrics module will have a different adaptation channel database (as vwjap has indicated). For the newer style modules, try this: - Select Central Electrics
- Select Security Access
- Enter the magic number 31347
- Select Adaptation
- Search for ZV allgemein and select
- Select Funk bei Klemme 15 ein.
- Change setting to active

Hey Don, been reading a lot of your posts and came across wanting to do "Lock car with engine running." I have a 2017 Sport DSG so I see the instructions you gave in this quote but when I try to save it I get "(31) Function not available." Is there something I need to do?
Don't know what fixed it but was able to set it now!
