Hi guys, I've just installed a rvc only mk7 gti golf. It's all up and running but only in lowline mode. I can for the love of God get it coded into highline mode. The car has parking sensors with the yellow bendy lines. Can someone shed some light on this, have I been sold the lowline camera? Also the camera was bought from vw direct.
Cheers

stephen: The basic difference between Lowline and highline RVC is that the former is a peripheral (standalone) device that is energized via the hex09 module (i.e. the lowline camera is separate to the vehicle's CAN network). However, the highline RVC is directly connected to the infotainment CAN bus and as such it has its own control module (J772).
Because the highline camera module is part of the CAN network, it will appear on a scan report as a separate module - normally with the address hex6C. What does your scan report say? Don

Hi Don, Thanks for your reply, I'm new to this coding topic so you will have excuse my lack of knowledge. I understand what you are saying tho, and as for the scan, I dont have the module 6c. When I go to code it in and view it it says it has failed. What would you like me to scan and I'll get it posted asap. Cheers

If you have bendy yellow lines (on the camera screen NOT the parking sensor screen) it sounds like you have the wrong wiring loom If you only have the green lines then you have a lowline camera

I see, I've just got the lowline camera then, can I just buy the highline camera and swap it out, or does the loom need to be changed too?

Loom has a pair of canbus wires that go to the glovebox, and doesn’t connect to the black blue in the boot, so yes different loom

Ok, I've just been to vw and there said there is only one option available. For the loom I had a white wire going to fuse 18 and a black and white wire that went into pins 6 and 12 on the infotainment box.

So you connected 4 wires to the back of the radio like this?
The orange/brown orange/purple are the can bus wires that are used in the highline camera, the black and white are video feed only, used on both cameras

I put the pins in 6 and 12 on the blue connector but the loom did not have the other 2 wires, do you know where I can purchase this other loom so I can convert it to the highline camera?

All I get from link is “Podana strona nie istnieje”
Found it, did they take your chassis number? Maybe they think you haven’t a camera at all, or if you said you fitted a aftermarket then they don’t want hassles of thinking it won’t fit

Think it was lost in translation, they have now said if I fitted the emblem rear view camera it will work, I think I'll get this kit ordered and keep you all posted on how it goes
