Is it possible to code the GTD to have the options like that golf R on the individual driving mode the golf r has a engine sound option on individual mode which enable the internal sound actuator on invidiual mode Rob: The Soundaktor that generates the engine noise is only possible if the car has the specific control module fitted (it's called a "structure-borne sound"). It works much like a tiny "boom-box" device that is attached to a solid hard surface which becomes the speaker diaphragm. But in a mk7, the actuator is physical attached to the front windshield which vibrates to make the engine noise (see below). So - short reply is that without the control module (@ address hexA9) it ain't possible! Don

Hi don
Than you for the reply
Yes my car does have this and it only activates in sports mode
But on a golf R you have a option within the individual mode to set the sound on or off In mine there is no option within the folder
Just wondered if I could enable that option also in individual mode
I hope you understand what I'm trying to say

Rob: I've had a look in my database - no adaptation channels or code changes that are obvious for this function, alas. My only suggestion is that someone with the Soundaktor fitted (I don't have this module) looks through the options on the screens in the "engineering menu" for the MIB unit. If anyone has an interest in pursuing this option, here's a video about how to access the "green engineering screen". Don Or, I don't normally recommend that anyone use the OBD11 Apps, but access to this part of the MIB is also available through the App below - not sure how many credits are needed

Thanks a lot Don
When you say look at the engineer menu Do you mean someone with just a sound actuator like me or someone with the actuator and the menu to select it in individual mode?
Also your car looks like a GTD, does it not have then actuator?

Rob: I'm suggesting that someone with a Soundaktor look through the engineering-menu for any option (there will be lots of options) with a description resembling a "mode" facility. I wouldn't start changing options unless there is a strong possibility that the option is related to the "mode" function. Just a suggestion - it could be that this facility is in the control module firmware in which case it won't be accessible. My car is a 103TSI - no mode button Don

Hi Don
Enabled the green engineer menu and nothing within that regarding modes or anything related
Could it be in the menu list function where driving school mode is enabled?
Also green engineer mode has many options, is there anything cool that can be done there 😎

If I haven't "Drive Mode" button installed in the car, can I activate this funciton in MFD? And it will work?

To be honest, I don't know how you'd switch modes (or get to the menu to customize the "Individual" mode) without the physical button...I haven't seen another way to that popup in the MIB interface. That said, you can purchase the switch assembly if you really want the button. No idea whether it would work without further coding though, sorry.

^^^^ looks like an easy install - physical equipment wise. Just replace the switch bank in the center console and run a wire to Pin34 socket C on the BCM (J519 in picture below, or what OBD11 calls "central electrics" module). Then make the code-string change suggested above and see what happens!! Don EDIT - Jacko: And this is how the ESP button is connected

Hi Don, regarding to 5G0 054 809 Genuine driving profile selection - Installation instructions (Original Fahrprofilauswahl - Montageanleitung)Page 15 says On the BCM socket C: - Engage the crimp connection on the yellow wire in chamber 34 of the plug -Arrow A-. - Engage the crimp connection on the black/grey wire in chamber 21 of the plug -Arrow B-. ... On the centre console switch module: - Engage the crimp connection on the yellow wire in chamber 3 of the plug -Arrow A-. - Engage the crimp connection on the black/grey wire in chamber 6 of the plug -Arrow A-. ... It means that PIN 21 is necessary for Drive-Mode-Selection button function. That's will be great if you can add this PIN to your wires-diagram :-) Greetings Jacko

Don, that's lovely :-) Thank you! Additional information - another way to reach "ABS Control Unit" pin 39 is connect pin 9 from switch to the T17d connector in the "TIUL Coupling Point" pin 5, but it is valid only for Golfs before MY 2016 (maybe earlier).
