Hi all,
I’ve now been trying to get my horn or anti theft alarm to chirp whenever I lock or unlock the car, however I’ve had no success so far.
I have a 2015 6c GTI with anti theft installed.
Neither using the predefined setting in the app you have to purchase for coins worked, nor any coding I’ve tried so far. I have even set it to be adjustable in the discover media but even if it’s ticked to sound the horn or alarm it doesn’t work.
Any advise what I might be forgetting?
Thanks a lot in advance!

If you have factory alarm then make sure last option in the "guide" is set to not active
Central electrics - Adaptation -- Acknowledgement Signals --- Akustische Rueckmeldung global: Active --- Menuesteuerung akustische Rueckmeldung: Active (Menu option in infotainment system) --- Akustische Rueckmeldung entriegeln: Active (Unlock beep/chirp) --- Akustische Rueckmeldung verriegeln: Active (Lock beep/chirp) --- Rueckmeldung Signalhorn: Not active (Not active for alarm installed ||| Active for no alarm installed) Press and hold green tick. it might ask for security code, enter 31347

Hi ViC, Thank you for your help. Still, no success. I have double checked and that’s exactly what I have it set to. I have made a few screenshots of my settings and everything I deem could be relevant in some way or another. Maybe this helps? ibb.co/4gFspcVibb.co/zGgXhfGibb.co/0ncchFQCheers!

And is the "Audible confirmation of central locking" / "Acoustic confirmation" enabled in the menu as shown above? If that doesnt work, try changingCentral Electrics -- Adaption --- Acknowledgement signals ---- Dauer der Akustischen Rueckmeldun vom Einfachhorn----- Change value to: Kurz_______ Lastly if it still doesnt workare you sure you have factory alarm installed ? Try changing Central Electrics -- Adaption --- Acknowledgement signals ---- Rueckmeldung Signalhorn----- Change value to: Active

Hi ViC,
Yes, it is enabled.
I have tried all of your suggestions, still no success.
I’ve even tried enabling the usage of the horn, that didn’t work either.
I’m 100% sure I have the alarm fitted as I’ve had the car built to order.
It must be some other setting I’ve messed up or it’s simply not possible with my car.
Again, thanks for your help and suggestions.

What a bummer. I have coded the exact mod on a 2016 Polo 6c however it had no factory alarm installed, and a 2016 Passat with factory alarm, and both of them works normally. the Passat with the alarm makes a chirping noise while the Polo used the regular horn. I cant think of any other settings that we might have forgotten.
Edit. might aswell change this back to "orginal"
Central Electrics -- Adaption --- Acknowledgement signals ---- Rueckmeldung Signalhorn ----- Change value to: not active
Have you factory reset infotainment system inside the settings ? sometimes it helps

Hello,
I’ve still not given up on this, even though my efforts seem more futile with every failed attempt.
I’ve seen that video too and it got my hopes up that it would work on my car, too.
In another thread somewhere, maybe even on another forum cause I’ve read so much about this, someone had the issue that it would only work with one of the two car keys, so I got my spare key and tried again, even fully removing the feature in obd eleven to enable it again - no luck. I have reset all settings in the infotainment car menu as well, same outcome.
Now, I’m pretty much left with two more ideas, both of which I don’t know how to accomplish.
1) I’ve read somewhere that relearning your key to the car can help. I have absolutely no idea how to do that, though. Maybe someone here does?
2) I have maybe messed up some bits or bytes in the long coding. I’ve changed around quite a bit on my car and of course I did so without creating a backup first. I know, stupid. It’s been quite a while ago when I first started using OBDeleven on this car and I may have tried coding some stuff off stemei for the golf VI. I don’t have a clue what I had changed and if I reverted it all after I had no success, and without a backup of factory settings I will probably never find out either - unless you know a way to factory reset the car.
Again, thanks for all your efforts and help!

Obdeleven records each change you make and will be visible in the history which you can email the history to yourself.
Usually when the keyfob is in need of reset/recalibration you wont be able to use keyfob buttons to unlock/lock car.
To reset/recalibrate the keyfob, you only need to insert keyfob into ignition lock and turn it once for accessories. And thats it.
